  1. Do the votes go toward the player with the better stats, or to the best player? For some reason I can't find the stats on both players. But I'm sure Silvey has more due to a longer Hudl film lol. Lawless was triple-teamed throughout every single game this year. No hard feelings whatsoever, but there's no way Silvey is a better football player than Lawless. The outcome certainly wasn't a "no doubt" as some have said. Congratulations to Silvey though! He certainly does have a hard working motor. Just wondering!
  2. It doesn't matter if Winn or McKinney is a better QB. It doesn't matter if Greenback has "faced wide receivers this year that match the caliber of Dresden". According to film, Greenback's defense didn't shut down the kid from South Pitt (he has over a minute worth of highlights on his Hudl solely from the GBvsSP game) , nor did they shut down the QB from Coalfield. So why are you arguing about it! Lol. Who cares if you faced them. You have to shut them down, and that didn't happen. The only thing I see stopping Winn from putting 6 TD's on Greenback's defense is the Greenback D-line. I won't even claim that the game will come down to the play of the line.... because Winn is good enough to literally make that irrelevant. That is a ridiculously valuable trait in a QB. The pressure is on the Greenback D-line this week. Not only will the Greenback defensive line have to get into the backfield (which I believe will not be a problem due to sub-par Dresden O-line), they will have to bring Winn down. Getting in the back field, and bringing Winn down.... those are 2 different things. If they can't bring Winn down, Dresden will put up 42. Whether Greenback can match those numbers is another story that I will not claim to know the answer to. Skill players-- Dresden Line play-- GB all day Will be an interesting thing to see these units match up, and if Dresden can make up for their sloppy line on both sides.
  3. Oh I know. Y'all are a heck of a team, but weapons at the skill positions mean nothing without a good O-line... unless you have an athlete like Winn. Nonetheless, a great team. Looking forward to a good game.
  4. You saying my boys aren't physical! Lol. Just playing, but, though WC wasn't the most physical team we'd seen all year, they were enough. The WC line and Birchette was in Dresden's backfield all night. Dresden on Friday night was no where near as physical as WC, and I would say not even NCS. Winn is just a playmaker, and they have talent in the skill positions. Again, I predict a huge struggle for this line against the big boys from the East. I must say that the skill positions on offense and defense are very physical for Dresden though.
  5. No one is say that they'll be intimidated. They're saying that they'll be overpowered. I've seen Dresden play, and I do not like their matchups in the trenches on either side of the ball. That is something you should worry about. Winn did alright against pressure though Friday night. If this same Dresden team was Winn-less (lol), they would've been out 2nd round of the playoffs.
  6. Having seen every game of NCS's last year, watching the West Semifinal on Friday night, and seeing Greenback last year, my take is this: This year's Dresden team is no joke. They can throw. They can run. They have a ridiculously athletic QB who can sling it. They have a bruiser in Yates. They have athletes all over the field. This team handled business against a very very hungry Wayne County team. 2016 Dresden looks a lot like a brother of 2015 NCS in the sense that they can hurt you with talent all over the field. With this being said, I think that Wayne County's D-line gave Dresden more than they wanted, and I predict that Greenback's Silvey & Friends will give them even more. Dresden has some big big boys, but doesn't look consistently physical up front (on either side of the ball) from what I saw on film and last night. The rest of the defense is nasty though. I haven't gotten the chance to watch much of Greenback this year other than the Silvey and Roberts highlight film. I sure hope that Greenback is better than last year. And I've heard that they are much improved. I say that because I don't think that the 2015 orange and black from Cookeville can hang with those Dresden boys from Friday. Like I said, 2016 Dresden looks an awful lot like 2015 NCS talentwise... with a more experienced and more accurate QB. Looking forward to a great game though. Hopefully I'll be able to make the trip to Cookeville to watch. The past 2 State Champs have been absolutely dominant all-around. Will it be a third year? I truly am ignorant to the Greenback team, so don't kill me lol. Just interested in matchups. Any thoughts on unit matchups?
  7. Did I really just read that last year's game in Cookeville wasn't dominant? I hope that was a joke.
  8. You haven't seen too many teams play have you? Didn't want to toot my own horn but did you see NCS's defense last year? Or 2015 Union City? NCS had a good resume against Wayne County, Peabody, and Greenback in 2015. And UC had a good one too. Not even the best defense in recent years.
  9. Great post. Right on the money. Must say that mistakes are part of the game though. Limiting stupid turnovers mean just as much to the game as a whole as a star QB does. Just part of the game. Maybe they were lightheaded from that smell! Lol, that was something serious. Congrats to both teams.
  10. Several. Mirror, go look at a certain touchdown run from the Monterey game as well.
  11. Yeah that's what we thought. Different beast. Will be a surprise.
  12. I can't believe you just made such an inaccurate claim. He doesn't like contact? I can guarantee he has run over more people than anyone in this league. Go look at his Hudl. You are just throwing claims out there without doing your research.
  13. That makes no sense. Anyway, your information is false.
  14. That makes no sense. Anyway, your information is false.
  15. Well it's well deserved. We're wishing the best to y'all as well. Heart can outplay talent every play of the week.
  16. What do I expect him to do? I certainly don't expect him to push Rice and yell at the referee. People that think that way are what is wrong with America right now. The players are coached to get back in the huddle. With no disrespect... From your previous comments and username, I'm left to assume that you're #11's mother. I may be wrong. Whether I'm right or wrong about your identity, I can promise you this: Wherever you got that information from, it's false. Fabricated. 100% certainly not true. And I have good reason.
  17. +1 You will expect it, and you will still be surprised.
  18. Didn't realize that NCS threw the ball 30 times. I agree, the run game is what NCS does best, and they need to stick to it. QB can make big throws in a sticky situation, but when we aren't in a sticky situation, I don't see the reason to. Just puts NCS in the sticky situation if we can't convert. I don't see the point in abandoning the run when it works so well for you. Guess that's why I'm not the coach though lol. Could be because of Birchette. A stunning difference maker. The amount of heart that he and Rice (and really the whole crew) played with was inspiring. Carguy, you're right. When WC essentially gave us the chance to score, we couldn't do it, and it wasn't just once either. If I remember correctly, opening drive of the 3rd, NCS ended up punting, and it was whiffed by WC. NCS got the ball and drove within the WC 5 yard line. Then a 15 yard penalty on 11 for yelling at a ref when he didn't like the way Rice tackled him. NCS didn't convert. That kind of stuff can't happen. I can assure you that behavior like this has been addressed by Brothers. Can't blame him. This is individual choices. Hate to say it, and I know some don't want to hear my opinion, but that'll need to be cleaned up if he wants to make it in the collegiate level. Again, actions are a personal choice. A coach can't control that, and he's done everything he can to try. Anyway, what a rivalry. Wayne County may be the only fanbase that doesn't complain about one thing or another when they lose to NCS. The rivalry is certainly better (today at least) than the old Jo Byrns or Clarksville Academy. Much more respectful, and better competition to say the least. I made a comment about WC whooping on Dresden and someone called me out. That was my preference, not my prediction. Haven't seen anything on Dresden other than Winn's Hudl. Should be a good game, and a good QB matchup for sure. Hopefully I'll be able to make the trip. Get it done, Waynesboro. You deserve it for sure.
  19. Certainly wasn't 30 yards away. He hit #28 in the back about a second after Rice took the ball away. Nonetheless, a great play by Rice, and a great WC team. Birchette is the real deal. Can't wait to see y'all whoop on dresden next week.
  20. This is obviously completely inaccurate. It's not a poll. It's not the truth. It's a computer. Just meant to get us talking.
