  1. I wasn't too far off. Henry County is the best team in the region by far after seeing them play twice. (9-1 I think) CHS record was spot on. (8-2) Northwest QB was hurt for three games but they are missing more than that. Of course I didn't know NE would forfeit 5 games and miss the playoffs, so that brought in Kenwood and Dyer to the playoffs. I think Henry will cruise to the semi's when I am not sure who they will play then.
  2. Congrats to HC. Blew out the Cats. Not even a close matchup. Good Luck the rest of the way.
  3. CHS could lose by 1 on a last second FG and they still wouldn't be any respect. That's ok though, gotta win every once in a while to get that and CHS hasn't. I will just go with the HC folks and say CHS has no talent.
  4. I am looking forward to the game. No matter what HC is always a good host to us. I will have more than one Fried bologna sandwich, but will not disclose the final number to my wife. I will say too that I have no kid on any team (used to), I just love Friday night lights and this should be fun to watch.
  5. Most seem to think there is no challenge to be had. I saw Haywood last year vs Springfield and they are a good team. I just seem to disagree with everyone one here that CHS has no talent. The college offers to a number of different players would say otherwise. I still think that HC wins a close game and I still think this offense will be the best HC has faced so far, especially if Watch plays at RB for CHS
  6. No Disrespect to the 4 opponents that HC has played either (being that none of them are over .500) but this will be the best offense HC has played so far also. I agree with gbrpats however, with HC being too much to overcome at home, but a close game, and CHS does have the talent to play with and upset HC if HC does not play well. I also find it interesting that HC somehow has already won the region and the playoffs and will make it to Cookeville. I think you will find NE is pretty good at their place.
  7. I would disagree with HC having "much" more talent. A lot of kids on the CHS squad will be playing on Saturdays soon (just like HC). I still think you have to give the edge to HC playing at home though. To answer MSURacer's question, the CHS pass defense struggled last week but has played well at times too. I would give the edge to HC there however. I agree with gbrpats that this could/should be a 4th quarter game. Both teams are good.
  8. I don't think Northeast loses a regular season game 10-0 HC only loss is at Northeast 9-1 CHS's 2 losses are to HC and Northeast 8-2 The last playoff spot goes to Northwest - Their QB is legit IMO. Now that I have said that - Let the upsets begin - HA
  9. Could be the first of two meeting this year? Maybe. I think that it could be a very good game but I would have to give HC the edge at home. Always a great place to play at HC (not to mention the fried bologna sandwich). I think CHS could be third in the region this year at 8-2, looking to make a run in the postseason.
  10. That would be Centennial last year about this time that "put it on you" at Patriot Stadium. I think HC wins it close because it is there, but if the players are as overconfident as you seem to be just because it is at HC, then NE can "put it on you", but hey who knows maybe HC wins 45-0.
  11. I have seen both teams play and without question NE is faster than HC and it not really close. OL and DL seem about the same strength wise. QB play I think goes to NE and Coaching to HC. Everything says that NE should win this game, and if it were at NE I would say NE by 14+. However since it is at HC and until NE proves they can win the big game, I would favor HC in a close one. But I would not be surprised if NE puts it on HC in a big way because they can score....a lot
  12. Congrats Springfield. Great win and good luck the rest of the way.
  13. First ever Game between Clarksville and Springfield was 1913, as old CHS Coach Foskett's team beat Springfield 6-0 but then they didn't play until 1919 after that. No CHS team fielded in 1917 or 1918 due to WWI and Spanish Flu per CHS archives.
  14. They did turn their season around with a lot of help from Central office since they wouldn't have even been in the playoffs if Clarksville High's wins were not taken away. However good win Henry, go get that payback from Centennial next week.
  15. Once again. The rumor is wrong. The player never played here or lived here before. Meaning he began playing in Montgomery County just this year. This means he never played in middle school in Montgomery County, at any school. AS for putting names on white pages to look up addresses. This has been explained over and over, just read the thread.
  16. As Pilgrim has said, you must read the articles in the paper and most of your questions are answered. There are no realtors on staff at CHS. There are real estate investors as many people are but no one who owns or rent apartments to players mothers across the street from CHS. The Mother who was not maried when she moved here and rented the apartment took the 1 bedroom apartment with her kids because a 3 bedroom apartment was no available and was on the waitlist for said 3 bedroom apartment. Again this is in the paper. One of the parents owned/owns a residence in another zone from when he was in the military at Ft. Campbell. When he was not married to the mother and three kids. The mother and three kids (who had never lived here before) moved from another state to see if it would work out with the dad and they since married after the season started. Again this was in the paper. Interestingly there are other prominent players who play in our district who rented out their house in one zone and bought a house in another to play for another team, but they are ok per the tssaa. Does that answer one of your questions about eligibility? No student was released early to come back to CHS. I believe the player you refer to served his full penalty at alternative school and then came back to CHS, otherwise the player in question would have been back at school in the 3rd game not the 9th game. And yes he was there in the spring but not the summer, and yes that is a coaches call (like it or not) but what does that have to do with the eligibility question of the other player? Would you bring such things up to bash CHS? Yes there are people that work at Central office who have a vested interest if CHS doesn't go to the playoffs (if Northeast beats Rossview). Does that make them CHS haters? No in my opinion, but if you have to make such a huge decision why not recuse yourself and let someone else make that recommendation to Dr. Worthington. It is not sufficient enough to say it is his job. Take the doubt out of it and have another capable person investigate the situation. Regardless of your feelings on the ruling of the school (which seems likely to be overturned by the court), the kids at CHS worked hard for a year to EARN the title of best team in the city this year and deserved to go to the playoffs. However we can hope that either Rossview or Northeast will represent Region 7 5A well in Memphis next week. And then in 2 weeks if the court overturns the decision of CMCSS and the teams wins are reinstated and more importantly for the player in question, that he will be eligible at least somewhere if not CHS for his senior year. This starts all over again with a bunch of upset people.
  17. Centennial should get it done but which Brentwood shows up will make a difference. Clarksville but NE will give them a game and are perfectly capable of winning. Henry easily Rossview by as many as they want. (I feel for the West Creek kids, no hope for the future at the moment)
  18. HC won that game in the weight room. Great defense. HC will go a long way in the playoffs. Nice game!
  19. Rossview is done for the year no matter if they win tonight or not. Sorry that's just the way it is with this years Hawks
  20. 1. Possible but unlikely 2. Possible 3. Unlikely for 3 interceptions 4. Very Close game with nervousness on both sides 5 Unlikely that HC will have seats on the home side. This is homecoming after all and although HC will bring 1000 plus they will still be outnumbered 2 to 1 6. Neither side is scared of the other 7. No drones or sirens allowed (lol)
  21. I have no argument there. CHS will need to throw the ball to open up the running lanes. I think the same would apply to the big red though. This will be a close game it appears.
  22. 27-24 CHS with another meeting 6 or 7 weeks down the road
  23. This game seems hard to pick if you are truly looking at the game realistically. The Patriots will try and slow the game down and put together long drives and CHS wants an up tempo game. CHS will score, can the big red score enough to keep up? Who makes the big defensive stop? Will the Patriots be able to have their way with the CHS defense? So these types of games between two good teams (probably both top 10 teams at the end) comes down to a turnover or the kicking game and that's why I will take the home team here and go CHS in a 27-24 type of contest. Either way it seems possible that this is only the first meeting this year between these two. Should be fun to watch.
  24. Springfield is much better on film than Beech. Does that translate into a win? Not necessarily but if they play the way they are capable then the Jackets should get the win at home. My prediction (with no dog in the fight) is Springfield by 10, 27-17
