  1. Now that's what I'm talkin' about. (HC is too good by the way...)
  2. The quietness of this thread is alarming...Playoffs?!
  3. The good thing for HC this week is that #3 can get some rest and heal up. We should be able to handle this one without him.
  4. #47 has the best "nose" for the football that I have ever seen. That makes up for a lot when you talk speed. I've seen linebackers who run a sub-4.5 forty, but couldn't read a key or make a tackle to save their lives. So, when I say "fast" referring to LB's, I mean reading, reacting, tackling.
  5. This game should be a good chance for our "new" found offense to get some work. They should have the ball a lot. Can't wait to see the band...
  6. They will definitely "come across" the biggest, most physical D-Line they've seen all year...not to mention fast, head-hunting LB's. LONG night for the Cougars.
  7. You're being nice, Cephus. It won't only be tough, it will be impossible. If Big Lass is correct...this one gets ugly in a hurry.
  8. No "trouble" in the past meetings...and none this week. HC players and coaches will be on a mission this week.
  9. I agree, the sophomore can throw the ball well; but is he a leader? you have to have the leadership trait to be effective at that position for sure. Centennial was the better team Friday night, no doubt...but the new season starts this week and I guarantee HC will be working and improving.
  10. Right On, Hero!!! You just said it all...HC knows how to take care of business in the big games....and running the ball and stopping the run are the ingredients of this proven champion.
  11. Prediction for Rossview Game....HC 35-Ross. 0. Final Score...HC 37-Ross. 0. If not for the safety, right on. Predicted HC would beat Dickson by 43....HC 63-Dickson 27. Off by a touchdown. I will give you Brentwood...way off there. But I would say that the last three games, for the most part, my predictions have been inches off, not miles.
  12. Centennial has class. This should be a good championship battle.
  13. That's what a championship should be all about...and the Patriots will bring it home.
  14. You have seen both play, so I respect your opinion...I don't have to agree.
  15. Defense WINS Championships..............Period. Stop your wondering!
  16. Important traits of a winning program, Red Swarm, are experience and composure. HC has been in the big games; been there, done that. Centennial will be anxious and overly nervous, I believe. This will lead to penalties and turnovers, which can easily snowball on them.
  17. Independence does seem to be the elite team in 5A.....however, strange things happen come playoff time.
  18. HC will be able to run the ball and control (shorten) the game. Centennial will not be able to run the ball, get frustrated, and be forced to throw every down. This will be the difference. Plus HC's superior kicking game will be the cherry on top. I'm going to change my prediction because HC will block a punt, scoop and score. My new prediction is HC 17 Cent. 7.
  19. Centennial will have to find a way to score through the air. The ole "run to set up the pass" philosophy doesn't work against this HC defense. On the other hand, the HC offense MUST get creative to be able to put some drives together. In the championship years, HC had great defenses, but they were stout because the offenses were able to put together 10-12 play drives and give them time to rest, for the most part. This team has to find a way to do the same. With all that being said, I predict....HC 10 Centennial 7...OT
  20. I agree with bottom writer, these D-Linemen will have to prove that they can make the big plays in the BIG games. No challenges up to this point. The offensive lines that we have faced (except for Liberty) have been mediocre at best; and mostly just flat horrible. My statement will be verified possibly in the next few weeks. 2011's D-Line (Defense) did hold Ridgeway scoreless in the first half of the quarterfinal game and really searching for answers the whole game...and that team had seven or eight Division 1 players starting on offense.
  21. I bet Brentwood's girls' soccer and volleyball threads are going wild.
  22. This D-Line is better than 2011. That one was terrific, don't get me wrong. But there were only 3 of them...this one has 4. Both tackles this year are better than the nose in '11. Dunlap would probably be the only one that could start on this year's D-Line.
