Speed is Forrest's achilles heel, always has been. Forrest has always played hard-nosed disciplined defense, and disciplined assignment based offense. This is fine and dandy until we get into the playoffs and start to face real speed. Forrest has played good teams this year, but has only played one truly explosive team, that team is Page. If Marion has legitimate speed (aka 4.8 or below on forty yard dash) then Forrest will struggle unfortunately. I am almost positive we don't have a kid that runs below a 4.9, I may be wrong but it doesn't show on the field. We're disciplined, no doubt about it, but speed takes over after a certain point.

Forrest desperately needs to get over the "2nd round hump" in the playoffs. Historically we have made several playoff appearances, but never made it past the second round. Teams like Marion and others have "been there and done that". This doesn't give them an advantage, but the team and community feel like they belong there and it is expected. If Forrest can make it to the quarterfinals, best believe that they will be a staple playoff contender every year. IMO it's long overdue for us to make a quarterfinals appearance.

Yes you should, again I'm not trying to be rude, I just didn't know if you were aware on how to reply properly. I hope other coacht members don't think of you as an ambassador of the football program. Quality school, quality football program, and lots of great folks in chapel hill........most of which are not rude, unlike yourself.

Wow, I wasn't aware they had gotten better, perhaps they could beat us (Forrest). Still would love to see that game happen, would be a good out of region test for the rockets.

Forrest should honestly have had at least a couple of title game appearances by now, there's been tons of talent come through here and we have never capitalized on it. I think this staff can do it as long as they stay.

Sure would be fun to watch! Would be very interesting if we scheduled them in the future, almost positive they wouldn't do it though, there's nothing they could gain from it.

Agreed, K won't be there much longer, too many openings at bigger schools coming available. Would love for him to stay but understandable if he doesn't.

Hmmmm....... I seem to remember an extremely talented 09 Forrest team (who also finished regular season 9-1) get beat at home by Marion County 1st round. Squandered a 17 point lead in the second half, not looking for a repeat.
