In the last two seasons MC has won by 82 points. Thats exactly 41 a game (55-14 & 62-14) so I think 21 is pretty generous considering this team returns 7 all region players and lost what 4 starters. Maybe someday MC will need those rose colored glasses back but they seem to fit the SP folks just fine so just hold on to them for awhile.

Not many people from MC have seen the catpn's new recruiting class so it hard to say but without them i'd give you 21 in a heartbeat. Last year was 41 and this team is capable of being as good.

I hope that both teams make it to Cookeville I just hope week 4 MC wins. To be honest the kids from both cities get along. The adults dont always. SP and MC both will have good teams and its a football rich environment. They trade streaks and everbody has a down year eventually. If they both get it done Im happy. Both teams should go 8-2 at worst. Playoffs once you reach round 3 its anybodys game.

SP probably has a team in the top 5 or so in 1a and could make it to the finals if they stay healthy so Im not knocking them at all. I just think MC has a good team.

There is work to be done and it is early but this team has potential to be great.

I know roy isn't exactly a card carrying member of MENSA but someone needs to explain this to him.

For the love of all that is holy just worry about you and your herd of transfers. Look the bottom line is the scrimmage went well for MC. The starters won 1 to 0 and the seconds 2 to 1 but it was a pretty even match. Neither team was mid season form but either one would beat SP today, tommorrow and the next day. This MC team had a smoother first scrimmage than the last two years teams. Offensively they need to clean some minor things up but its a great team.

Is it true captn roo is going to have satelite camps next year like that harbaugh man because the stud farm quit producing?

Captain kangaroo was scared of being outgunned again so he went out on the recruiting trail. He didnt want that scoreboard to blow a circuit again with the MC points and knock out the lights again this year. Last time it did allow the fans and announcer to sneak out under the cover of darkness. Probably rounded up enough help to make it interesting but not enough to win.

Yep you guys are right probably won't have half the offensive production this year and will squeak by on defense. Probably won't score in the double digits much less mercy rule anyone.

We have 3 or 4 backs that will pick up the slack. Special teams is the only aspect that will undoubtly be down. The first Tyner gane he was out with injury and 4 other games as well. He definetly made wins easier but I dont see one game he won single handedly at all. BZ was our best offensive and defensive player his senior year and when we lost him you guys thought we were down. Anyway its almost time to see who's right and whos wrong.

Walters was a great player but I heard the same talk after BZ graduated. Cant replace either player but you just keep expecting the drop off like you expected last year. I believe i said it should be the best overall team and im sticking with it.

the SP game will be competitive no doubt but I still see MC winning. Folks familiar with the talent and experience expect this to be the best overall team in the last 3 years. Despite the loss of some great players its a great overall team. People hoped after BZ was gone it was over bc he was such a great player. We lost great players last year but the line and defense are essentially 3 year starters. This team has the potential to be the best yet in the last 3 years.

That little dingy on the field won't hold too much more and i guess we still have this year at least before those recent wins are just a memory.

The "captain" has an undeniable knack for talent accumulation when the homers are down. Now I will say SP has alot of families that being athletic is a given and subsequently great fb players. However,I can name at least 5 or more starters this year at SP that didnt start at SP. I can think of 1 at MC so obviously winning alone doesnt attract transfers.

By the way just wandering with all of the transfers in recent years just who is the director of scouting/recruitment because they need a raise.

If RR was there we wouldnt get any game changing transfers we never do with the exception of Walters who was only gone one year. As far as coaching I feel pretty fortunate to have the head coach we have and the kids do as well. From a talent perspective RR hit the jackpot for two years and to be honest the new coach has walked into a good situation. Its hard to gauge a HC when they walk into above average talent but the new coach is going to be just fine even when there is a drop off. Doesn't matter at the stud farm/speedway with the captain he will just keep bringing cousins in from everywhere. Its like select ball there these days it doesn't matter where you are from.

We lost some really good players but for the most part should reload. The offense should be at least as good and the defense should improve. Special teams is a big concern. We dont have a kicker of that caliber to replace Stephens for sure. Saylors or Zeman will be great returners but Henderson was the best Ive seen in quite awhile. The young qb wont be as productive as Walters but other offensive players should fill the void as he progresses. All in all though its nice to lose alot of great players and still feel confident bc it doesnt happen much in public 2a ball with local kids.

Hold on there orange kitty your getting as bold as the field painter slice from boyd with big predications. Returning alot of folks is great but the same kids were 6-6 and lost by 34 to MC. Confidence is great but being delusional isn't.

UC would smoke Trez I doubt it. They had the most physically imposing 35 man roster team ive seen. Nice to be confident but thats over the line to delusional.

Worst case scenario lose to boyd and go 8-2. Then either semi or a final team but cant beat the west.

If not for all the bragging about a "stud farm" at the "speedway" it would'nt be funny. SP should have a good team this year just don't pretend they all home grown that all im saying. Where did your fastest back goto school at til 8th grade or so. Yeah that was MC.

Just trying to keep it real. Name one kid that will start for MC next year that hasnt been there since 9th grade? I dont think you can. Bass omitted that and i just put it out there.
