  1. They are legit. It's one of those nights, Grace has moved the ball, but either stalled in AE territory or thrown INTs. AE's speed at skill positions is definitely there. I also noticed how hard the LBs and safeties come up and take out the legs of any runner that gets thru the line. That kept Grace from big ground plays. You Hampton guys were right...Harper is for real.
  2. Running clock...just under 10 minutes left, still 48-7.
  3. Harper with a 60+ yard d pick 6 on last play of the half. 41-7 at the half.
  4. Grace moving the ball well to the 20-25 area and then stalling out. AE using big plays to score.
  5. I will say I just listened to AE's coach pregame interview and he sounds like a total class act. Great interview.
  6. I didn't realize that was you. Like Barney said, we made an exception for you.
  7. It doesn't matter which side of any game a person is on, it takes a fool to predict blowing anybody out ahead of time. I hope there weren't really any Grace fans making those claims. I'll be pulling for Grace, but just looking for a good game with no injuries between 2 good teams...and let the best team win. Oh yeah, I hope there's a band and not a karaoke singer with a goat, too.
  8. Statue of Liberty, Hook & Ladder, Fumblerooski??? Or is there a plan to roll a boulder out of the stands and thru their sideline right before kickoff? Might be the only way to slow them down.
  9. Not in TN. Clinton has no chance in TN, so I'm free to vote for the best candidate, not against the other side of the 2 corrupt major parties.
  10. I have my reasons, like the Constitution, that I couldn't vote for either of them and voted Libertarian Party.
  11. I've not seen AE play this year, but I've heard plenty between what they did last year and what they've done this year. I may be mistaken, but I believe they caught Fulton while they were dealing with some injuries. That doesn't take anything away from any win against Fulton, though. From the couple of games I've seen GCA play this year, your comments about GCA being able to run the ball are concerning. I've not seen much consistent success with the run like I remember in past years. GCA seems to be relying more on the passing game than I remember, particularly the big plays. Should be a good final Division I district game at GCA on Friday night.
  12. You fellows finally got the decision to get almost all the privates out of Division I. Without the common enemy, you now have to resort to debating politics and religion amongst yourselves? 😀 I've enjoyed this thread over the last few days.
  13. Hampton is up to 421? I thought they might be back under 400. Y'all recruiting athletes or something? 😜
  14. I've only heard this 2nd hand, but I was told the plan is to build a new high school and grow. If that happens, being located in Farragut, they will compete with the other privates, especially CAK, for students and be at a different level in a few years.
  15. No worries. I understand the sentiment. Back to the original topic, I thought it was a joke when I first saw Cloudland was coming to Catholic. It would be a big enough mismatch for a 2A Grace or Hampton to line up with Catholic, but Cloudland coming down is a whole other level of mismatch. Catholic is a machine this year, with multiple Division 1 commits. I just hope there are no injuries on either side.
  16. I know this a FB board, but please choose words carefully. That could be taken as disparaging the entire school. There's more to every school than athletics. My oldest, who's only 6, is at Grace for the environment and academics, whether he ever plays school sports or not. I wasn't at the game Friday night, but I did listen to part of the 4th quarter on the radio. Sweetwater went on a long drive with their starters in going against GCA's 2nd & 3rd string D. Once they got inside the 10, the Grace starters were put back in and stopped them on downs to keep the shutout. Would I have done that as the coach? Probably not...but I also probably wouldn't have my starters in down 55-0 in the 4th quarter.
  17. I'll be keeping up with it, but it is Kids Night Out at church, so the wife has plans for my evening. We'll be there next week for homecoming. I think GCA wins tomorrow and sets up the showdown for all the marbles with Austin East on the 28th.
  18. More like pirates. They were shooting cannons at us last year.
  19. Agree. Hope they can keep some good rivalries with existing public schools. I guess everybody is going to be in a scramble for a year or so to get schedules figured out. At least there won't be any more playoff trips up to the frozen tundra of Hampton. Those people scare me! 😂
  20. I guess we are debating semantics. I never said you weren't in the room, but I didn't think you were a GCA parent or fan. 🙂 Regardless, it is going to be tough playing Webb and CAK in conference every year now.
  21. Wow. It was presented to the parents as this is what TSSAA has said and is basically forcing us to go D2 and here are the reasons why we feel it is best to do so. I was in the room. I'm sure they continued to look for a way to stay D1, but there wasn't any feasible way without shafting (in my opinion) all the parents, so it was as good as done.
  22. I'm going to have to disagree here. There might have been some holding out hoping to find a way to stay D1, but administration told the parents at the end of September that D2 was happening and why.
