No,no,no. Marshall County's assistant principal was
on the Tiger sideline, not the Crockett County sideline
when he was ejected. He was ejected from the sidelines
after he asked the referees if it was proper for
" referees " to be cheering for one team over the other.
He was referring to the chain crew ( which was made up
of refs from that area dressed in their uniforms ).
Pretty fair question when you consider NO chain crew,
dressed in either street clothes or referee uniforms are
supposed to be cheering one way or the other. I can
understand three local guys on a regular season Friday
night getting carried away once in a while, but not a
chain crew made up of refs.
Besides our horn blower, the only other fan I heard about
getting singled out was a band parent helping set up for
halftime protesting a call against the Tigers for
blocking below the knees...on DEFENSE. If there's 10
people out there who have seen that call ever made before
that Friday night I'd like to hear from them. I've talked
to two veteran officials from different parts of the state..
neither had ever seen that call or more importantly ever
made that call in their long careers.
Enough said. Game is long over & no doubt about it, Crockett
County was the better team.
