  1. Cheatham is in the same boat. They start 4 juniors and a sophomore. The lone senior rotates starting with one of the juniors. They return both 1,000 pt scorers. Bench will be suspect, but they really only play 6 now.
  2. How does CC match-up with either Nolensville or Marshall Co? I haven't seen either one of those teams play. I do know that CC beat Creekwood by 20+ earlier in the year and if their loss was considered an upset, we may be seeing the glass house. EN is going to prove tough. They match our quickness and the post is athletic. Guess it will come down to who shoots it better.
  3. Cheatham over Sycamore, 55-46.
  4. Sycamore beat Maplewood, by 11 I think.
  5. Does anyone know if Kaia Upton is healthy at East Nashville? She messed up her knee last year, came back this year, but I heard earlier in the week she broke her leg. I haven't seen East play this year. As far as the favorites in AA, looking at the tourney bracket...once again, if Cheatham can get past district 10, our road isn't quite as tough as some. Creekwood, more than likely, would be our sectional team out of that region. I know they have improved, but we got them by 25 earlier this year. If we get to there, looks like a Westview matchup would be next. That would be a game to see.
  6. I just watched the entire game, too. From just seeing this game, Cheatham will be okay if we get past East Nashville/Pearl Cohn. We got White House Heritage by 20 last night. We have two that play exactly like Dishman. 1 had 17 last night, the other had 24. Our issue will be foul trouble. If we foul out 3 with 7 min to go in a close game, we’ll have problems.
  7. That’s a good recap of the game. We a couple of players in foul jail early that hurt offensively. If I were guessing, our PG is our leading rebounder. They are definitely ball hawks. RV got very few second shots and when they did, they didn’t finish well. Thought it would be a bit closer.
  8. Cheatham over Rossview 59-35. They should win out
  9. Not sure if Cheatham beats Rossview tonight, it would be considered an upset. I spoke with Hendersonville's coach and he said Rossview should not be a problem for them. He should know, he has played both teams. Lost to Rossview by 5 and Cheatham by 20. That said, the Rossview girls and Cheatham girls have played together some on the AAU scene. They know each other well. The Rossview post player could be an issue if they can get by Cheatham's press. Cheatham has a shot this year and next, since they basically return the same team next year.
  10. Cheatham dropped one at home against Summertown last Thursday. We played Summertown in team camp and they beat us pretty good, but we were without 3 starters, 2 of which were the leading scorers. That being said, I was VERY impressed with Summertown. They play man 2 man/help the helper defense about as good as I have seen a girls team play it. Father Ryan is probably the best I have seen it played in middle Tennessee. Cheatham's struggle is going to be not having a consistent knock down shooter in the mid-range. If our guards can't turn the opposing team over high and our dribble-drive is well defended, we have a hard time in the half court knocking shots down.
  11. Cheatham beat Beech last night 66-43. I think Beech played Cumberland Co close. 2 pt game if I read right. Cheatham’s crew is going to be a problem for lots of teams this year.
  12. Do not under estimate Emily Beard from Dickson. Probably the most clutch kid I have ever seen. Hit a 3 to send the SC game to OT, a 3 to send it to Double OT and then sealed the game with free throw shooting. She played in the shadow of Lea Lea Carter last year. Kid can ball. I am not a Dickson fan ( I live in Cheatham Co), but I know when I have seen a great player, and she is just that.
  13. Won't see much better, all around, than Emily Beard. Kid is something to watch.
  14. Heard Rosenbaum has been in foul trouble most of the game. Stewart's Creek is out.
  15. Is it 63-59 with 40 secs to play, Dickson up?
  16. Cheatham's road is tough. I haven't seen Maplewood, but I've heard they are no pushover. Cheatham's path could very well go Maplewood, East Nashville, and Pearl to win the region. That's a tough 3 games.
  17. Cheatham Co has a legit chance to win out and head to tourney with 1 loss, that being to Wilson Central. The regional match-up will be the game to get a ticket to.
  18. Cheatham has Wilson Central tomorrow night. Should be a heck of a game.
  19. For the most part, they don't utilize Tiff like they could. Emmy N and Abbi D keep the wheels on. Josie B does the dirty work and plays with a chip. But make no mistake, they all have a high motor.
  20. Not a lot of points via the fast break. East sat in a zone. They got Tiff (6'1" center) touches on the block and Cheatham's back cuts and dribble drive were effective. Cheatham sat in a zone and really took East out of their game. They looked to be in a stall biggest part of the 2nd half. Seems most of their offense is geared toward 1 on 1 play and Cheatham didn't move out of that zone. Garnered boos from the crowd. Overton had some turnovers late and both teams missed FTs down the stretch. Cheatham's PG drove the lane and hit a contested layup with 2 secs to play to win it.
