  1. Key is a tough kid and I'm glad you all acknowledged his humbleness as well as character that speaks volumes! with all of clay county's shooters plus key I would expect them to be back in the glass house next year...district 7a will be weak overall! Once again good luck to Hampton hope east tn can get at least a little recognition so you guys can afford some sneakers to be able to travel/run with them boys from Memphis! (Even with open enrollment) all it takes is a good gameplan and hamptons coach knows how to get his kids to play hard!
  2. Like I said that Hampton squad are scrappers they outhustled Clay co. I truly believe if the refferee wouldn't have called mabrys (#13) 4th foul (Which was not a foul all ball I had the best seat in the Boro) Clay county wins the game by 8 instead of Hampton however hats off especially to Jose(#15 Hampton) he carried them through the first quarter while playing above average d obviously the gameplan was make him beat us an he answered the bell. I wish all the best to Hampton , however I watched the Mitchell game earlier and Olison can play, as well as, if not better than Key who was 75% percent this morning (fighting the flu) & still gave Hampton all they could handle! I'll go with Mitchell by 7 because of shear athleticism!
  3. Key has been getting mauled no wonder Hampton was in double bonus wth 4 minutes left in half. They are a scrappy bunch but man they can't stay in front on anyone blocking fouls will keep getting called all game long on Hampton!
  4. Famer3 I know you have Hampton winning but this is Clay County's best chance to survive and advance to play Memphis Mitchell. #23 key will get his against Hampton I don't care who's guarding him! And I know you saw Clay's #13 he does have good footwork and will block your shot the kid has worked hard over 4 years and has had a great coach in his basketball career! I know Hampton is trying to build a dynasty and 3 years in.a row is impressive but this isn't the year either.
  5. There is usually contact in most cases just because you don't see it doesn't mean there isn't contact. according to the refs he's gotten the majority of the calls all year on the so called "flops" your talking about! IMO that's no different than someone selling a charge call when there's little to no contact and yet still it's called a charge that should be a flop! It's a judgement call if you want them called buffalo fan get Ken Melton's number and become a referee in the upper Cumberlland area, then you can call Your precious technical fouls! Until then quit singling a high school kid out and grow up!
  6. @wareagle3 T. Key is already going to be playing AAU ball with one of the most prominent teams from Knoxville. He will get plenty of exposure playing with them! The kid is super humble, knows where he comes from and genuinely cares for his coaches/teammates/classmates. He won't be lured away with money, women, guarantees of this and that or whatever else the privates throw at him. So good luck to CPA and whoever else is going to try along the recruiting trail!
  7. I'll take Monterey over Pickett county In a close game. Pickett has underachieved up to this point IMO. Monterey is hungry for a win and have some talent espicially the west kid he can shoot. Jackson should beat clarkrange but Coach Pile's team always seems to be playing well going into the tournaments. If Flynn doesn't gameplan right, which has been known to happen, then Crange might leave Livingston playing Clay county in the championship.
  8. No clue why maybe a favor to Macon county's coach ....who knows it was a very weak tourney IMO and it definitely benifitted JC more than Clay last night seeing them before they play 2 more times with it meaning something. Especially Considering Clay just won a very difficult tourney last week in gatlinburg against 3a talent they really stood nothing to gain at the Nera white except that trophy.
  9. Agree with ya summit how does a decent single A Pickett county get into a championship game that is usually very competitive. White co should win but I'm pulling for the underdog from 7a!
  10. Clay by 12-15 Jackson Co. Doesn't have enough size they have a Forward starting at the 5 which is going to hurt tonight. Hoping it's a better game then I expect but Key is on a tear and had a game high nonchalant 33 last night. Clay plays JC 3 times before February 10th so tonight will be a good measuring stick for the Blue Devils.
  11. Yeah heard it was a close game first go around. JC has a decent team led by guards who can shoot pretty well and Macon looks to score in the paint with their big guys.
  12. Thanks...looking forward to the Westmoreland vs Clay and Macon vs JC games good luck to all teams.
  13. Anybody have info on times and teams playing in Lafeyette this year?
  14. Just ignore hyperquick he obviously isn't very smart and thinks Endicott from Upperman hung the moon. Our team is better without him believe it or not I understand he's tall and this and that however clay has a solid center who actually played better than Endicott last year IMO and Key who is one of the best players in the state. My verdict is clay has beaten whomever has been put in front of them and I think they would give hyperquick's Maryville squad he holds so high a run for their money.
  15. They're undefeated I guess that don't need him to much...their chemistry was off last year. This team is rolling into these district games on a high note and have some talented teams to compete against in JC, Pickett, and Crange.
  16. Very impressive win by the Bulldogs, they gutted that one out and that intentional foul sealed it. Key didn't have a great first half but man the kid can play! If he isn't a Mr basketball candidate I'll be surprised! Great game both ways good luck to Sevier co. The rest of the year they are a very solid team.
  17. Pickett record is pretty pedestrian...so is Warren county's . However Warren played Clay co tough so Pickett is in for a dogfight IMO
  18. Warrior also said if Warren co beat Pickett it would be an upset? Warren co has 1800 students, Pickett has 250 or so. I would think Pickett would be underdog for sure.
  19. Read it again clay is undefeated....Sevier has won 10 in a row....
  20. Agreed coach Edwards knows what he's doing and this is one of the most talented teams he's had led by Key And Wyatt Mabry who got named all state in football so congrats to him! Looking forward to seeing a great game championship game tomorrow!
  21. Sevier County has won 10 in a row and Clay is undefeated. This should be an exciting game up in the mountains. I don't know much about Sevier except they are a lot bigger school than Clay co. However clay has one of the best players in single A and if they don't stop him he will drop 40 on them just ask Hardin Valley .
