I'm a homer but this is where LA' s Butler has stepped up in AAA. Her 18 points in the 3rd quarter alone against #1 Upperman changed the game. Her 30 points against #3 Creek Wood was a dominant performance. I'm sure I'm missing others.

Also, LA is 9-0 so far this year in games against state ranked opponents, all classifications. The win against Cookeville wasn't a fluke that wouldn't happen again. My point with the 7-AAA is the depth and physicality. I can't see anyone going undefeated for the year in that district.

LA beat Cookeville. I'm sure it had nothing to do with their game play. 5-1 is good for 2nd now in 7-AAA.

It's good to see Cookeville having some success these last couple of years. They can only play what's put in front of them. So a win is a win. That being said, I think they would have a much tougher time if they were in 7-AAA.

LA girls with another impressive win against Creek Wood by double digits on a Saturday non-district tilt. Butler with 30. Mullins was out with injury. A lot of valuable playing time for some youngsters.

After some shaky holiday tournament losses, they have seemed to click. Starting 5 seem to all have discovered and embraced their roles and playing with much more discipline. They are not very deep so that's good to see. I know rankings mean nothing right now, but if we are going to have them, I don't know how you don't rank them #1. They were #8 and beat 4 of the 7 teams ranked ahead of them. That's impressive.

LA girls knocked off #3 White and #1 Upperman this week. Add those to victories over Pickett, Clarkrange, Cookeville, Creekwood, and Cumberland. That's a resume for a new #1 in AAA.

Agree 100%. Dodgen has always grated me the wrong way since the LA-Cannon battles. But the guy can coach and gets the most out what he has.

Yeah these 2 coaches, who both have won gold balls, make a tendency of getting out coached in the post season like you seem to imply. Laughable. The LA game had nothing to do with being out coached.

LA hasn't been the same since the first Cumberland loss. They made a very mediocre team look formidable tonight.

Agreed, but LA was obviously able to handle the pressure down the stretch as a team. Your previous post seemed to indicate otherwise, I may have misinterpreted. Everyone expected White and Stone in the final. I'm guessing very few picked LA to pull out #3 spot. In the end, I'll be surprised if anyone punches to state. Hope I'm wrong.

Not sure what this is supposed to mean. LA hit a 3 pointer at the buzzer to tie Upperman in first round then beat them in overtime. Yesterday they hit a last second shot to beat Cumberland.

Out of the four, Upperman is peaking. The rest aren't playing their best right now. I think those 4 could beat each other on any given night. 8aaa will have their hands full

LA knocks off Upperman to advance 59-58. Story hit a 3 at the buzzer to send into overtime. In the final seconds of OT, neither team could hit their foul shots and Upperman missed the final shot at the buzzer. A shame someone had to lose that barn burner. Another emotionally draining chapter in this rivalry!

Incredible! It looked like all through the year Clarkrange was vulnerable.

If that's the case, it appears they might get Upperman again. And they are playing their best ball now after already beating Cumberland twice.

Exactly what happened. Double bonus 2 minutes into the second quarter. Officials didn't let a lot of that play out. Oh well, it happens.

Guards did just enough for them to win. Actually made a couple key shots. LA did not press as much as first game. White has a huge weakness there.

I knew the buzzer beater at half with the clock operation error would end up being the difference. Might see a couple more barn burners before it's all done.
