  1. I saw a bracket but can't remember where but I did write it down. Clay has a straight shot to the finals. Should be a Clay vs Macon final. Gordonsville 5-6 Westmoreland 6-3 Clay 10-2 Moore Co 0-11 Jackson Co 2-9 Portland 1-9 Macon Co 9-3 RBS 5-9
  2. The only thing I will dispute is Wayne county. They are not very good they have won 2 games they beat Pickett 53 to 42 and Danville, KY who has won only 2 games. I do not think Wayne beats all of 8AA not sure they beat Macon and don't think they beat Upperman and may not beat Smith county. If Central Magnet has there big boy they may not beat them.
  3. I will start this by saying I have not seen Clay play. From seeing there game scores and reading this site I don't think they have near the chance they had last year. They have gave up 86 points to LA, 81 to Macon and 78 to Wayne county KY. That tells me their defense is a weak part of their game up to this point the quality teams they have played they out score them to win. The Key kid is obviously a great player but when one player is averaging 50% or more of your teams total points that will eventually be a problem when playing better teams. Humbolt and Grace Christian are two better team. GCA has a 6' 7" and 6' 9" plus a lights out 3 point shooter and Humbolt plays a tough schedule. I'm not trying to take away from Clay just don't think there as good as the past two years.
  4. I said earlier this week in the 8AA thread that I thought Macon would get there first real test tonight against Clay. I hope I can make the Clay vs Pickett game Jan 17th that may be a decent game.
  5. It just show the character of the adult that talks trash on an open forum about kids. I agree send them down the road. It's easy enough to talk about a team and speak the truth without calling out the players by name. If your must talk trash about a specific kid at least use your real name so everyone on hear can know who you are.
  6. You are so spot on!! I've never seen anything like it girls and boys both the bad-mouthing of kids by name on a public open forum. I can't figure if there jealous or mad that the player is better than the players on their team. All I can figure instead of being happy that the kids are working hard and doing well they need to bad mouth them.
  7. Any word as to when the big kid returns for CM? Macon plays Clay county Friday that will be a test for Macon. Just about time for Christmas tournaments.
  8. Well after reading all of the comments on here about how good the kid from Smith County is I had to make the game tonight. Upperman wins 70 to 43 after being up 36 or 38 points in the 3rd quarter. I'm not sure how many points Endicott had but I would say at least 20 by half time and I don't think he missed a shot in the first half. I would say Endicott played 2 and a half quarters. The kid from Smith county might have scored in double figures he came out late 3rd quarter and didn't go back in. If the starters announced were correct Smith started 4 juniors and 1 sophomore. Upperman started 5 seniors. I really wouldn't call Smith a young team by grade but possibly by experience as I don't know any of them.
  9. I hope they have a great season.
  10. I had planned on going to the Monterey vs LA game Friday but ended up missing it. I saw they lost by 2 and held LA to just 50 points. I saw Monterey play during the summer as I have a friend that has a son on the team and expected they would be pretty good. How did they look against LA?
  11. Wow that is a big statement.
  12. Upperman beats Warren County 82-64. The big man for WC didn't play and Endicott didn't play the 4th QTR for Upperman.
  13. York beats Harriman by 7, White over Smith county by 10. Upperman without Endicott over Creek Wood by 16, LA holds off Clay county by 3 and Cookeville over Pickett by 30. That is all of the scores I've seen.
  14. I can't speak to it being accurate but I was told.. Clay Monterey Jackson Pickett
  15. I'm sure you know more about the district than I do but after doing some research on Coach T in last season schedules. Smith and Macon played UHS 3 times each last season. Smith finished 2-1 and Macon 0-3. Smith won at home by 2 was hammered at UHS by 35 and by 18 at Tech. Macon lost at home by 12 at UHS by 16 and at Tech by 2 with I'm told a controversial call at the end of the game. So what makes either or both Smith and Macon the favorite over UHS.
  16. Spoke to Endicott's mother recently she said he has put on 5 or 6 pounds of muscle and has been working on his game a ton. I think UHS may be as good as last year week point will be there bench. Three returning starters, a fourth that played a lot of minutes and a solid transfer. He has also committed to play baseball for the University of Cincinnati and is on his official visit this weekend. I think she said they have a play date at home next Saturday.
  17. I know it was early and summer time play I saw Jackson county and Monterey play. With the transfers at Monterey and the addition of the big home school kid 6' 7" 240. They will be much improved and may content for the district. Keep in mind I have limited experience with either. My info comes from talking to a parent from Monterey at the old Tech gym back in June.
  18. I agree with this. If the team philosophy is not including him enough the numbers on offense may be hard to post.
  19. I'm new to the area but went to watch Monterey play a Memorial gym at Tech recently and saw 1st half of Upperman and Pickett. Monterey will be a different team this year with the addition of a couple of transfers. The big kid is around 6' 7" maybe 245 has some range and good hands around the basket not as athletic as some of the other players but will help them. Over all they looked pretty good. The Upperman Pickett game was ugly refs were letting them play way to physical. To young refs looked barley out of high school. Pickett has a couple of good shooters one was red head #10 not sure the other ones number short guard. Upperman had one good shooter dark headed kid and there big kid was getting swarmed and mauled. He finally just created contact knocked down the defender and scored no call. Looked like Pickett was determined to not let the big kid score if he touched the ball they swarmed him but I left at half. Both team got up and down the floor well but were really going after each other. I can't imagine they will be aloud to play that physical in school ball.
  20. Athletic for sure at PG possibly young or inexperienced. Got ahead a few times and was trapped appeared to handle the ball well. Will grow in to the position seems to have the tools.
  21. Saw Jackson county play some at Tech way early new coach just getting settled in. They looked decent.
  22. i saw Lebanon play in the old gym at Tech looked athletic and fast. Didn't have much size but hey it is summer camp. Also saw Macon, Sparta, Upperman, Cookeville, Pickett and Monterey. 7A may be interesting this year. Monterey Pickett looked good and Monterey with a couple of transfers one of which is a big boy I would say 6' 7" 245lbs.
