They are better than the numbers. They are giving up 20 points a game which is not great by any means but it's not 30 or 40. They had special teams issues earlier in the year which it seems they have addressed but will be tested Saturday by pc. In the end like most football games whichever team doesn't turn the ball over and controls the line of scrimmage will win. I'm just glad to see cordova playing better teams even though they lost, I respect them for canceling their game earlier in the year so they could play whitehaven. I respect what coach jones and his staff are trying to build and this weekend we will see how that building is going

Cordova sat seven defensive starters for that game against Douglas for varying reasons. There defense is better than scores would indicate. They have forced an average of 2 turnovers a game. But on Saturday we will see if they are garbage as one poster put it. Pc has some great athletes and are ranked for a reason. And as far as jones being an offensive guy, last year the beasts were on defense.he plays players that will help them in their future college career not just the best players on offense. This defense replaced 10 starters from last year and is building every week and I am excited to see how they fair against a very good pc team.

Congratulations to whitehaven go bring the gold ball home. All respect you were the dominant team and like I said the first time we played to be the man you got to beat the man and we fell short but we will keep working and getting better.

I know that they pray every game home and away at midfield but if they said f the haven then yea that's disrespectful but that's last year this is a different team that will be ready for war tonight see you soon

I didn't know circling up for prayer at midfield was disrespectful but to each his own I just want to see round two with both teams playing their best obviously we have to move the ball better and try to contain me Watkins but it's only 6 hours away to what did varlas say the biggest game in memphis high school football history

I will say we definitely consider ourselves memphis we annexed back in 2007 to all memphis students. We are part of the same sciaa that every memphis team is a part of and we look forward to hopefully having an all memphis final.

Defeating a team twice in a season is not easy. Collierville is playing well but coach jones and Cordova responded well last week after their first loss of the season. This was a game going into halftime earlier this year but I think Cordova will respond to the challenge to move on but not without a tough game from the dragons.

In our region no school funding is given so teams in our region play money games to give lower tier schools a chance to make money so they can support their programs. It's unfortunate that there is no funding from the school systems so it's big brother helping little brother which is why it happens so much in our region

Great game and a physical battle. My hope is we both win out and get to do it again in the semifinals. Good luck through the playoffs.

This is the biggest game of the week because both teams are great. They both have dominant defenses but I believe it's Cordovas year. I expect whitehaven to bring everything that have because that's what they do every game and like the saying goes to be the man you got to beat the man. No doubt whitehaven has been the standard for 6a football in memphis for awhile but Cordova is ready to win this dogfight. And no doubt it should be a dog fight. It will be the best atmosphere in the state that night and a night when the wolves come to hunt!! See you Friday

I heard about those ejections and that was ridiculous. I am saying unfortunately there are certain places and teams that seems to get calls at their homes that others don't. All refs are not this way but I definitely agree with the white hat controlling the game and unfortunately teams have to adjust to that. In the end the officials have never changed a call by arguing with them and players and coaches have to adjust. I do believe the city schools get less calls then the old county schools. Over the years it's changed at Cordova from being a county school to a city school but I'm sure most teams feel they never get calls. At the end you play through it because every once in awhile that call will go your way.

I would never predict a blowout because we are dealing with teenagers. Houston is 4-1 in the region and highly improved from earlier in the year. Cordova needs to stay focused on this game which I believe coach jones and his staff will do then it won't be a trap game. This game is huge for seeding in the playoffs and Cordova can't have a let down like the end of last year and end up third in the region but it's at Houston and we know how calls go out there so Cordova needs to focus and take care of business which I believe they will

I guess I'm still figuring this out. Yes week 10 match up should be huge as long as whitehaven and Cordova take care of business week 9. Houston is 4-1 in the region and can't be overlooked. I do like the bye week late in the season to allow our teams to get rest and get healthy before the playoff run.

Yes white station kept us out of the end zone on three separate occasions when we were in the red zone by coming up with big plays on defense. Fortunately our front four came to play and defensively we put them out of their comfort zone and halftime adjustments only allowed them 19 yards of offense the second half. Good win though first time we beat them since the early 2000's. we can't look past Houston who is really turning things around after the overtime win against Arlington.

He don't need a letter from the previous school just has to file a transfer approval with Tssaa unless MJ reported him moving for athletic purposes then it's going to be a mess

Germantown didn't travel well when they played us so maybe 40 percent full but this is a rivalry game and with a chance to win the Germantown fans might show up

germantown is much improved from last year but Collierville is an even match and everyone knows playing at Collierville is not easy because of the crazy crowd support but Germantown has more athletes and playmakers so I give the slight edge to Germantown

This game shouldn't be close even if it is homecoming for whitehaven. Whitehavens defense is too strong to allow Bartlett to move the ball and I don't see them stopping kylan Watkins and that running attack. Should see a lot of young guys play this night.

This game is huge and will come down to which defense can impose their will on the other. White station is a run first team which is cordovas strength on defense. White stations defense has kept them in games all year. Cordovas offense is almost 50/50 pass and run. If white station can make them one dimensional then it will be a game if not Cordova will win easier than the records indicate. But no doubt this game is huge for seeding in our division and who wouldn't want to see a battle of unbeaten week ten but white station ended cordovas undefeated season last year so no looking ahead for the wolves this year

Yea offensively we left some things on the field but it was good to see the boys rise up through some adversity and find a way to win

Great win tonight Arlington played with a purpose and that quarterback is something else but great goal line stand by the defense to seal the victory. Now onto white station
