  1. I agree with this. Wayne Co had an effective game plan to keep it close last year. We have the backs to have long ball control drives to eat the clock but our two power backs are never on the field at the same time and our smaller, fast kids are lead blocking for them instead of doing small, fast kid stuff on the field. You get to see next week.
  2. Thanks for the confidence. Definitely didn't let one guy beat us on August 25.
  3. If they're out there cussing that's unacceptable and a reflection on the state of the program. Did you play high school football? Ask yourself if you had gotten penalties that hurt your team would you be playing week after week? Forrest had 300 yards in penalties in region games against Cannon and Marion. Penalties ended the game tying or winning drive at Cascade. At what point do you blame the coach when a team continuously loses games because of unsportsmanlikes, holdings, and false starts?
  4. Sounded like EVERYBODY was on his side and NOBODY agrees with you. Also sounded like an argument with an ex girlfriend.
  5. It's been a long fall break. Our coach had two full weeks to prepare for the Raiders. Upset alert!
  6. From strongest to weakest. So maybe best overall team, S Pitt, is in weakest division 2A West 1A West 2A East 1A East
  7. We both try to discuss coaching decisions (good and bad) and good play from our players. With no one on staff promoting players or even providing stats, GenF and I are one of the few sources for our players to get any public praise. If you don't want honest critiques of our program block both of us. Our defensive coaches were praised in 2021 and some games this season. Same coaches were not very good in 2022 and had poor game plans against Cascade & Gordonsville. I would love to come on here every week talking about great game plans, execution, discipline, and adjustments but the truth is Forrest was 3-7 last season and likely 4-7 this season. Over the last 8-9 seasons based on roster and schedule, 8-2 or possibly 7-3 should be the absolute worst regular season record. This year we have wins over a 0 win Community, a 2 win Cannon Co, 1A Cornersville, and a mediocre WHH without their best player. Define bash.
  8. Is this a parody account? Hopefully, no one took the time to sign up for a high school football forum in Tennessee with so little knowledge about high school football in Tennessee.
  9. 530 last time. Just missed 3A by 10 or so. Will likely be 3A next time. We may be in the same region next time but I hope we go back west or Giles and Alcoa go up. Watertown had a run of good players and good coaches over the last 6-7 seasons in 2A. Forrest had a similar run of talent but not the other part of the equation and wasted some good teams.
  10. TCSport1 does an excellent job in my opinion.
  11. By halftime this will turn into who's middle school is better. Yall don't want any of that smoke. Not our strength. A couple will get after you but AllState 6'5 300 pounder didnt play a snap this year due to injury.
  12. There is no identity and doesn't appear to be a plan. Run middle, run right, run left- random plays one after another. After the first drive it's left, left, left. Nothing being set up. Zero game awareness. We have formations where we only run one play out of it. Defenses know where the ball is going on 75% of the snaps. It takes a big back or a solid O Line to pound. We have two big backs. #25 carried 4 straight times against Gordonsville. He bullied his way down the field from our own 14 yard line to a first and goal from the 3 in the 2nd quarter. Gordonsville could have pressed charges for assault on a few runs. He didn't touch the ball again until the end of the 3rd and were down 31-0. He doesn't have 25 touches in 7 games. #6 took over the Cornersville game. He played every snap on defense and out played Ben Franklin on offense. In the same heat he had 18-19 touches for over 120 yards. You posted it was his team after that game. Same kid had 7 touches against H2O and 5 touches against Gordonsville. Both of these guys should have 100 touches a piece by now. They don't have 100 together. This isn't an either or theyre both excellent blockers put them on the field at the same time. Big RB's need carries to wear a defense down. #1 and 22 are big play threats who block linebackers on 2 out of 3 plays and can't get the ball in space to save our lives. If they block inside so well I bet they can block a CB and would be an upgrade. Both have great hands but are misused so far. Physical teams with smart play calling get first downs and control the clock. We couldn't get a first down in week 1 or 7 and didn't have the ball to have an offense. This group has been able to mount comebacks this year after falling behind early due to abysmal game planning. A random thought: Why do we take good TEs and move them to RB their senior year when we have more RBs than we know what to do with? Wilson in 2020 and Grissom in 2022 were both all region caliber TE's as juniors who could stretch the field and block but both were moved to RB. They weren't as good as the RBs we had and the TE position got weaker. You need to look at this like a Forrest administrator not a Marshall County or Cornersville principal. There's more to Friday nights in Chapel Hill than winning. The boys played hard and had fun out there. We had a wonderful pep rally. Marion will bring a big crowd for a big gate $$$. It's all about the atmosphere. Our new slogan: Winning isn't everything. Go ROckets!
  13. We run a tight ship on the Forrest threads. Foolishness isn't tolerated. lol I wish Jasper would bring their 8th graders and we would let the middle school teams play the first half.
  14. No reason we should witness a blowout this Friday. Marion looks built to stop the spread teams with faster and smaller players on defense. Forrest has two big backs who can get the 3 yards and a cloud type drives going if they are both utilized. Every other 2A team would find a way to have #6 and #25 in the same backfield. Big backs need carries and wear defenses down as the game goes on.
  15. South Pitt fans (every year) : Nothing is guaranteed. We have to play extremely hard against tough competition. Against all odds and if we can pull some upsets and get past Coalfield and Gordy we may make it to Chattanooga this year. Also South Pitt fans (every year): This year's Jasper team is loaded. Best team in 2A by a wide margin. Clear cut favorite. They are a lock to waltz into Chattanooga and win it all.
  16. Talent level at Forrest is on the level with Riverside and Lewis County. Going back years and years most games between the school's are nailbiters. Forrest and Riverside played in state baseball tourney and it was 1-0. We just have similar kids. Two of these three teams will finish in the top of 2A two years in a row while Forrest will finish with 14 losses in both seasons. Forrest had more talent returning in 2022 than either and has been in free fall since being ranked #2 in the state. It's administrative malpractice and no one is accountable. Forrest vs Riverside History 2011 10-14 2013 23-20 2014 30-35 2019 15-21 2021 10-15 Other than HC's first year where Lewis County blew his doors off the games are just as close. Both teams would have a running clock if we played this Friday in what should be a one score game.
  17. Me too. Should be fine as long a #1, 3, and 4 are in the quiver. Only MC game I can find online is Brainerd. Going by that game the Jimmy and Joes will be similar but as shown last week that doesn't matter if the X's and O's are not. Even though they are undefeated this group looks nothing like the 2015-16 clubs that ran wild in Chapel Hill. Big nose man but everyone else on D looks smaller, high motor type guys. We should have success running right at them but we'll try to run wide all night. We have a full game film of how not to stop Marion County in 2022 so interesting to see if we change anything. If we line up 10 yards off of #4 I'm cutting the TV off. Last week against Gordy we shut down the run after the opening drive but for unknown reasons decided to halfway rush 3 guys and drop everyone else against a pure passer who didn't like pressure. #3 threw for over 200 yards in 2 quarters before their coach shut him down. Our kids didn't know where to line up pre snap and didn't know who to cover post snap. Receiver made one play on a jump play every other reception was uncontested and many were uncovered.
  18. Team got mercy ruled Friday but the pep rally was sooo good. Student section was lit. Band was on fire. We have a successful program! Being an admin is so much fun.
  19. So let me get this straight. The administration at Marion County recognizes how important football is to their school, their community, the players, and the parents. Marion County had a porous defense that contributed to a poor season for the football team in 2022. The AD or principal or head coach identified the liability and made a change that helped the program. So now this year's kiddos are 7-0 and ranked #2 in the state and the defense looks much improved with many of the same players and is no longer a liability. Unbelievable! And people in charge over here say coaching doesn't matter.
  20. Rockets Kiddos (4-3) vs Warrior Kiddos (7-0) Last season the two squads combined for 77 points in a wild shootout. It appeared neither defensive coordinator watched film that week or both bet on the over. Marion was content to let Forrest run wild against 6 man boxes with no outside contain. While Forrest was more than happy to play 10 yards off #4, not pressure the QB, and let #12 complete 15 passes at or behind the line of scrimmage. Who makes the first adjustment this Friday? Both teams have likely been holding special trick plays all season for this game! Cannot wait. Any new coaches on MC's staff this season? All Warriors are healthy?
  21. Cliff's Notes version is we were Exposed. Our program, head coach, AD, and the school administrators were exposed by a much better group from Gordonsville as being in over their heads and not up to the task of running a football program. I could type for days why but what's the point. I wrote blistering recaps after the Cornersville and Cannon County games but decided to just sit on them because we won and players may be on here. No point in dishing out reality when we were high on fools gold success. Every Forrest supporter was slapped in the face by reality last Friday. A solid group of players and a very good coach made another solid group of players and a not very good coach look like they didn't belong on the same field. It was sad, embarrassing, and unneccesary.
  22. As long as you beat Cannon Co and Forrest doesn't upset anyone you avoid Smith County. So chances are high.
  23. Every lineman and TE are juniors or seniors. They are serviceable 2A high school players. There are 230 and 260 pound options that aren't being played instead of the non brawny one that looks like a WR. Defenses know exactly where we are going on 3 of 4 snaps. High school requires some scheming if the opposing coaches are competent. That's the issue, having a Spence Tankersley or a Garvin/ Patin combo or a Nick McClendon overshadows poor play calling. Playing a well coached squad like Gordonsville exposes these shortcomings.
