  1. Thanks for the effort to spark some discussion but the 3A board is dead as a door nail. We've picked up a home school kid or three but no big name transfers for us. I expected us to be a transfer magnet and couldn't have been more wrong. This doesn't have the makings of a memorable season on the field or the message boards for my Rockets and I'm usually optimistic in July.
  2. Moore and Cornersville have some of the better skill guys in the region but do they have any blockers? Both lost their best lineman and didn't have any depth last year.
  3. No crying, no tears. Just facts. Good news is the teams that skirt the rules are all in the west and have to play each other!
  4. Players and parents and coaches and administrators love uncertainty and vagueness. Hard to believe they could make the situation worse, but it seems they managed to do exactly that. So as you said we either have a one time transfer (wink, wink) or there's about to be a ton of teed off players and parents and coaches and administrators.
  5. Quite a bit of Porter was involved with this post. Will be following for the big champion announcements.
  6. You ain't that average groupie but Eagleville and Cornersville both said, no thanks. Region should be very competitive like last year.
  7. I believe Eagleville has been shedding players about like Forrest so I'm not sure what kind of team they have. Rumor is they refused to schedule us and gave up a big gate.
  8. Richland, Huntland, and Fayetteville battle for the top spot. The other 3 fight for their playoff lives.
  9. Awesome to hear the region favorite's cup runneth over with QBs when some teams are struggling to find one. We have two sophomores who look solid in 7on7's.
  10. I don't speak for CPA fans. If one of our kids hadn't transferred to BGA I wouldn't be following the situation at all. I don't see consistency in a success formula for one school and one sport in the entire association. What is the success formula? It should be clearly defined and spelled out in the bylaws. Eagleville just won their 4th straight 1A baseball championship, when does their success formula kick in? BGA is loading up with transfers from across the state, why would TSSAA force their major rival and one of only 2 teams in the division who can challenge them up? Enrollment numbers don't mean nearly as much in privates as they do in publics.
  11. Why did the success factor come into play if we only use enrollment numbers? Chatt Christain and Webb are both bigger than the schools you mentioned, what division do they participate in? Football (three classes, Class AAA by declaration and success formula, other classes split evenly)
  12. Shelbyville is 6A. Page, Beech, Henry Co in the west. In the east - Sevier, Powell, Maybe Tullahoma/ Lincoln or Walker Valley as sleepers. They picked up 2 good ones from us who were solid in 2A. We'll see what they look like in 5A but our 2024 transfer was a handful for DII-AA and a playmaker for BGA.
  13. Who are the projected QB starters for Region 4 this season? SC and Giles have returning starters back. Forrest probably starts a sophomore QB this season. Who is next man up at Watertown and Community since their QB1 transferred? Cascade?
  14. The school the transfer leaves has the ability to nullify or challenge the transfer and the transfer is ruled ineligible. The next step is a hardship appeal or the bona fide change of address. I was not aware of this either until reading the article.
  15. Cassidy would be hard to pick against.
  16. That was my recollection, too. A program doing things the right way gets hosed by the association.
  17. Just read the Tyler Palmateer article about TSSAA's new transfer policy and seeing new transfers every day on social media. It looks like a disaster coming if the article is accurate. If the sending school doesn't sign off on this, are we going to have dozens, maybe hundreds, of TSSAA athletes in new schools ruled ineligible? Situation has been handled poorly. Schools have been hurt by players leaving and players may be hurt if they got bad (or deceptive) advice. TSSAA put out press releases about the new one-time transfer rule but if you read through it, it didn't change much and they have provided no clarity on what a significant academic, social, mental, etc reason is. To make it worse TSSAA won't even look at the transfers until late July or after school starts. A kid has to enroll and practice with a new team and then find out if he/she is eligible. Would it have been better to have the sending school commit to a response before student enrolls in another school? TSSAA generally rules on 500 transfers a year and now it could be ten times that (in their own words). Lack of clarity has the potential to be a hot mess cluster. They are about to be flooded with possibly over a thousand transfers in a few weeks and are just now working on their system to figure it all out. There could be a lot of (talented) players trying to get eligible somewhere in August and September.
  18. And CPA was the team forced up to AAA. Makes perfect sense. Does CPA even benefit from transfers much?
  19. Does anyone think TSSAA Legislative Counsil improved the transfer situation in 2025? Or did the make it much worse?
  20. What amount of deception takes 6 months to figure out and penalize? How could TSSAA not look into this in say November. They have 5 rounds of playoffs with fewer and fewer teams each week. I'm sure the 4 teams who had their season ended by a team with an ineligible player would appreciate more prompt action by the governing body. How good was the kid?
  21. Facts were the only thing real in that post.
  22. Not surprised to hear a school system run by adults that scheme to play in a classification they don't belong in has other issues.
  23. That was the first good news my Rockets had this offseason. It's been tough over here lately.
  24. Did you type that with a straight face? Sequatchie is the odds-on favorite to make it to Chatanooga!
