Friday night games Beech at Gallatin: I am guessing no Ellis for beech this game so I dont really know which way to go. I am taking green hill I think the rest of the team is better than SC. District season starts tomorrow I am going to try to predict the games all season and keep a total of win/loss I will also do score just for fun. Feel free to join in if yall want! Just to clarify I have only seen 2 teams in this district play this year so far, so early season predictions could be way off, especially the scores. Also dont know if all teams have everyone playing (contact tracing) Gallatin at Lebanon: I think gallatin COULD win this game but it would all have to go right for them, I think Porter will be the difference in this game, she does what it takes to win. Great floor general Lebanon wins at home 56-48 Hendersonville at portland: First year coach at hendersonville I have heard good things, decent talent there, but I am going to go with portland at home if they are still playing the 1-3-1 from last year that gives teams issues, I would not be shocked if hville won though, I think they have the best player in this match up (Taylor) but I think overall portland is just more physical and wins a close one at home 36-32 SC at Beech: another first year coach at beech this year and the return of a coach back to the district at SC, this has the potential to be a blow out in SC favor or a close win in beech favor, SC is going to press the whole game live or die by it, looked great for their first 3 games with Wirtz avg almost 40 a game, was held to 6 in the last game because they were unable to get the press rolling. Beech lost all their loaded guards from last year, and struggled in their first 2 games without their best player Ellis (contact tracing) when she returned the defense become solid allowing just 30 in both wins while giving up 62 in both losses. I will take Beech in a close one 40-35. BUT SC COULD win by 30 plus Wilson Central at MJ: battle of wilson county schools here, unsure what either team has with the addition of green hill, and most of the best players from both schools going to the new school from what I was told. Heard SC has rehired coach Jackson has the girls coach is this true and does anyone know why the other coach was asked to step down? If that is true it cant be good when asked to step down..

unless will pruitt didnt go to lipscomb and has another year in high school and went with all the other mj kids to green hill then theres no shot, or they cloned Will lol!! they do have the best coach in the district so that helps, I actually think Green Hill has the best coach in both boys and girls, both teams will be great I just think green hill boys dont have as much as talent, losing will is a HUGE loss. beech is the most talented sc and green hill are both coached well and have the next best group of talent

I think that would mean the region and substate teams are weak if this district sends teams all the time and then get beat in the first round... I have seen the top two teams in this district play a handful of times this year. And I must say I feel that Beech was better at the beginning of the season then they are now! I don’t think they have gotten worse, just not any better. Other teams are getting better as the year goes on and Beech has stayed the same. That seems to be their thing though. Always the best team and talent every year but just never improve throughout the year while everyone else does. They set the bar to start the year and by the end they haven’t raised it and others catch them. They don’t seem to be focused night in night out. I was at the Beech Vs Lebanon game and that’s a completely different Beech team then the one I watched last week against Wilson Central. As for Lebanon new year same stuff. Float under the radar and just continue to get better and when the game matters most they will be all in and focused as one team and unit! They are the 2 best teams in this district and it’s not close but idk how far either of them go really

trust mj is bad...gallatin was decent last year got better as the year went on. I told you dont be shocked if they get a few people. Beech has played much better than I thought they would and Leb not as impressive as I thought they would be, but its a Tournament game and I say leb and beech will be there. wilson central and gallatin.. after seeing that beech sc score...SC isnt going to get in that 4

This district is down, well not really down but def not what it has been, due to injuries and transfers...Luckily whoever comes out of the district will win the region because the other side is BAD!! Devils best player transferred to Independence. MJ best player out for year with hip surgery Beech lost several players to ACL in the summer, one of them being their best shooter and defender Those 3 have been the power in this district for the last few years. With that being said I think the following is how the regular season and tournament finishes. Reg season 1. Leb 2. SC/Bucs 3. Bucs/SC 4. WC 5. Gallatin 6. Hville 7. MJ 8. Portland Tournament top 4 teams going to region will be Leb, SC, Bucs, WC... dont be shocked if gallatin upsets someone to get one of these spots. I do think its the devils district to loose even though they lost their best player. Bucs have 2 of the 3 guards still and if the one comes back this year from the acl then maybe they have shot. WC has the best player in the district and loaded freshmen class, the key is can they mature soon enough or quick to make a run. SC has a good post and an athletic point and creates chaos for other teams. Those are my top 4 interested to see how this season plays out. Good luck to all teams and stay healthy!!

Farragut Don't really have any issues with that. Only question is where's MJ didn't they return everyone? Not my district so I could be wrong...

...in the tournament of basketball you need things to go your way and they went their way for sure..but no they finished 3rd in the regular season in runner up in the district so like I said they arent the best team in their district. This district had 3 teams that could have made it to the state but only 2 can make it. They werent the odd one out. Great season

The real issue in WH is not the coach or former coaching, or the players or who is getting the shots or who isnt getting the shots. The real issue at wh AND ALWAYS HAS BEEN THE ISSUE (minus those 2 or 3 years with Mathis coaching) is that its not a basketball school, the admin does not care at all about basketball. Its tradition NOT to care. Yes football will always be first in WH as it should be, they are great year in year out for the most part minus that 0-10 year who knows where that came from...but anyway basketball and football at most all public schools are the 2 biggest sports in whatever order you want to say...but basketball at wh is at best 5th football both soccer teams and baseball all are ahead of basketball. So if and when that changes wh will always be struggling to get any further than first round of region...and if they cant do it this year or next year it wont happen for a very long time because there is no one coming up through the ranks that can play until you get to that 3rd or 4th grade bunch like I said A VERY LONG TIME. If I was that coach I would be doing my best to go as far as I could this year and next year and get on out of there. I think he graduated from there so he might stay, but that would be strictly for the love of the school or paycheck because it wont be for the basketball!!

I dont think riverdale wins AAA this year...

I recently saw Tullahoma play at riverdale play day...they played portland who is one of the worst teams in AAA and Tullahoma won but it wasnt easy. So anyone worried about them being in consideration should not worry. I am not familiar with this district at all. Just reporting what I saw the other day....They needed more offseason practice time!!

a sub state team YES...BUT you have to look at the body of work of how they got there...They lost 4 of their last 6 games the closest won being 6 points. Their 2 wins one came against an on and off wilson central team who scored 25 point I think in that game, I would call that off. The other win came against the other district that is far more inferior than this district. All 4 teams in the Region came from this district so...They also went 1-5 against the 2 teams (Mt Juliet and Beech who also return the core members from last years teams MJ sophs and JRs BEECH JRs and SRs I believe) I have picked over them, that one win was a 2 point victory at home vs MJ...the other games against MJ 4,6,8 point losses respectively, BUT they took two 10 point and a 30 point drumming by beech last year...I never just spit things off without having an idea of why I say them, 1-5 against 2 teams in your own district which is why I said they wouldnt win the district this year. DEFINITELY not the 6th best team in AAA. If they come out and win the district I will be the first to tell you great pick!! Just dont see that happening. Also team camps mean dont mean much. Most of the best players dont play or they arent playing hard because they dont want to get hurt for AAU season.
