  1. Yo Artus, I like you giving my Arlington some love but even I don't think they deserve to be ranked both 10 and 12
  2. Hugs all around. Wonderful. We all agree on at least one point. It's like a happy marriage.
  3. If, if, if….should, should, should. Ha ha ha. Your “What If†game is strong, but its irrelevant. You expect me to take it serious that you just claimed they should have won because their JV 106 placed. I’m not new to this wrestling thing, but I seemed to have missed something, do you get to wrestle two at each weight class in duals? And if you want to play the what if game, what if Arlington had 4 more wrestlers??? I’ll tell you, they would have run away and hid. But they don’t so they just took their 10 and whipped your 14 from Soddy. But what if Tucker Russo wouldn’t have graduated, then I think you would have won the tournament. You see, the What if’s are as boundless as the stars. (I didn’t come up with that last line, very creative though, don’t you think?) And lastly, wrestlers earn seeds, this isn’t an AAU tournament, they aren’t just thrown into a bracket randomly. Seeding at this tournament was good. There were 2 wrestlers who won that were less than a 4 seed , Whitworth (because he’s 1st year and has no seeding criteria) and Wilson (bc he has no state criteria).
  4. I observe enough to know I've said all season that Arlington is being overlooked (also said the same about CBHS which most have finally decided to agree) and Soddy is overrated. You are correct that dual meet strength and individual tournaments are two separate arguments but when a team of 10 beats a full squad of 14, that is certainly saying something about the strength of those 10. I never claimed Arlington is in the same class as BC and I'll give you that BUT you and the other blind optimists need to admit that Soddy is not as strong as you claim. Sure, sure they are stuck in a tough region but it doesn't matter this year, they wouldn't make it out of the majority. It's amazing how upset you get, it's like I'm Dateline NBC and I've exposed a massive fraud. I know you're still in denial, but you and Bernie Madoff need to get your head out of the sand.
  5. Arlington had 10 wrestlers! Get over it, Soddy is not #3.
  6. Told you Summit and Arlington were legitimate contenders and Soddy is not the runaway for 3rd that they've been gifted on here. Been watching Sawyer Knott today, that kid is beast!!
  7. If 3rd Period is close, Region 7 will have a strong state showing Wilson with 12, Beech with 8-9, M-J 7-8.
  8. True but what fun is it if we wait until its over to discuss?
  9. Bold statement. Haha! No kidding...of course there can be spoilers. So pick one and tell us who you think.
  10. My point. Everyone wants to hand the title to Chattanooga teams and bypass anyone else being in the conversation. I'm betting a Chattanooga team wins this year but I'm holding firm on my stance that the Top 3, not even 3 of Top 4 are in Chattanooga area. Wilson, Beech, Summit, Arlington, Tennessee High, Science Hill, Halls, and even Bartlett have to be in the discussion for top 4. History is important but day in and out, these teams have to wrestle to prove their supremacy and other parts of Tennessee are beginning to catch up. We don't have the history yet but that doesn't mean we can't compete in the present. And Anotherback, that's an invalid argument. Every public school competes with private in each region. But I can say with a ton of certainty that Soddy is not losing wrestlers each year to Baylor/McCallie. Maybe one here and there but not enough to vault them to the top of the podium each year.
  11. I am optimistic about Summit but I think top 4 is a stretch. Halls is my dark horse, the bracket has to fall correct for them but I'm making the call. Top 6: Bradley Cleveland Wilson Beech Tennessee Halls Top 4: Bradley Cleveland Beech Halls Top 2: Bradley Cleveland
  12. Cleveland 42-16 over Soddy. Are you telling me there is that much separation between 2nd and 3rd in the state??? Are you that naive?
  13. Time will tell, but it sometimes seems those in the Chattanooga area live in a bubble and can't look west to realize there is other competition that just might be stronger. So once again, your legacy of success is great but that does not guarantee you a spot on the podium. As I have said over and over Cleveland didn't make it last year so you can claim they were top 3 but they don't have the plaque to show for it--remember the Cleveland goal this year, "get back the plaque." Soddy performed at duals but then came up short at the traditional tournament, finishing behind who? Yes, a Region 7 and Region 1 team. You can chose two and they can prove you right but no matter how much Region 4 pride you have, you won't have 3 undisputable top 3 teams, at least not in duals.
  14. Overlook them if you choose, but Summit has 7 wrestlers with greater than 80% winning percentage. Halls is almost in the same situation. I'm not buying Soddy as a top 5 AAA team. As a matter of fact, it really doesn't make sense to rank 3 teams from the same region, if you are talking dual. One of them can't place top 16. But I guess then they will still get a legacy nod like Cleveland did last year.
  15. I think Summit has proven they are a top 12 team as well. They are close to Beech in every tournament they are together.
  16. Looks close to me. I think Halls is being left out but they will prove they belong soon.
  17. Ok good point about Page and duals, but if we're talking duals then we shouldn't rank 12, A-AA takes only 8. My post was referring to individual, I believe Nolensville might surprise some.
  18. Directly from TSSAA website... Class A-AA Region 3 Cheatham Co. Central High School (Ashland City, TN) Christ Presbyterian Academy (Nashville, TN) Clarksville Academy (Clarksville, TN) Creek Wood High School (Charlotte, TN) Eagleville High School (Eagleville, TN) East Nashville Magnet School (Nashville, TN) Fairview High School (Fairview, TN) Forrest High School (Chapel Hill, TN) Goodpasture Christian School (Madison, TN) Grace Christian Academy - Franklin (Franklin, TN) Greenbrier High School (Greenbrier, TN) Harpeth High School (Kingston Springs, TN) Hume-Fogg Academic Magnet (Nashville, TN) Lipscomb Academy (Nashville, TN) Maplewood Comprehensive High School (Nashville, TN) Marshall Co. 19. Nolensville might slip into the top 10. They beat Alcoa.
  20. Arlington & Wilson Central both have great performances against tough competition at Deep South Bayou Duals. Wilson Central - 7-3 placing 6th Arlington - 6-2 one round from placing in the Championship bracket
  21. That's a pretty big assumption. I think mid state teams might play a bigger role than you are giving them credit.
