I haven’t been on here in months. Several offers coming in for this group, so great to see! And I hear a few are headed up the road to camp at Austin Peay this weekend. Maybe they’ll extend another offer or two.

It's so very sad! My friend's son who is a junior at WB has begged his mom to move to any other district so he can play for a coach "who cares about them" (his words, not mine). If he can't play elsewhere, he said he will sit out his senior year. This makes me so sad for them. I don't know what's going on over there, other than what I hear from her and read on here, but I hope for the boys that it gets better!

I have to agree! Maryville will be back with many of the playmakers we had this year. Oakland will definitely be a challenge, I hear they are only losing 18 seniors, and half of those didn't play a lot. Here's to 2018! Happy New Year everyone!!!

Yes, we technically have a thousand more to "pull from", but if they don't come out for the team, there is no pulling anyone. Merry Christmas!

I never hear the players talk about this. It's all about the game. Why does it matter how many kids there are in the school? Alcoa had 78 on their roster and Maryville had 82 on the roster this year. Seems pretty even to me. It's all about the rivalry, and to most players, it's their biggest game of the regular season. 650 or 1600, doesn't matter on the football field.

I agree 1000% with your post! Especially about our great coaching staff. Best coaching staff hands down! I hope to get to a few games next year. Even with 25 seniors graduating, many of our juniors and sophomores have proven to be play-makers. I can't see what they do next year. And thanks for the compliment --> "TE Blake Watson was a matchup nightmare".

East TN definitely showed out in the State Championships going 5/5. I did a little research on unapproved website this morning. There are 14,549 high school football teams in the country. Here is how they rank as of this morning. Maryville - 56 Knox Catholic - 362 Greeneville - 554 Alcoa - 708 Greenback - 1903 Way to represent East Tennessee!!!

Thank you! I hope to make a few games next year on weekends we don't have to travel far. Blessed to be able to watch him play another four years! Four of his coaches came last night, including Will Healy. They are excited for him to be a GOV. Any time you want to road-trip to Clarksville with us, you're more than welcome!

Cane Ridge was a class act. And their band was AWESOME!!! The love for and from Derek is amazing. He loves each of those boys as if they were his own. Some of these boys don't have a positive male role model in their lives and this coaching staff gives them a little of that. I am so thankful for the 11 years of Maryville football that my son has been a part of. This community, the schools and fan base are TOP NOTCH. I will miss it all next year!

Our Seniors are so hungry for this. My man child is biting at the bit to get there tonight. 1:00 bus can't come soon enough! I was so nervous last week, I couldn't eat until after the game! I hope momma doesn't have that problem, I'd hate for y'all to lose money on that all ye can eat!
