  1. Good point. Makes sense. I guess I just had higher expectations for him and the team after they had such a huge game on Saturday vs Cookeville. I didn't expect to see them struggle against Warren Co for 3 quarters like they did.
  2. I doubt the Belmont coach or any other D1 coach would have offered him based on how he played tonight. Obviously he has to be better than he played. Maybe it was his worst game of the year? He didn't look very interested in playing. Not much of a motor, Multiple Missed lay ups, TO's and blow bys on defense don't usually impress D1 coaches enough to get scholarship offers. Maybe I'm wrong.... Maybe he was impressive tonight and I just overlooked it? Bottom line is, I went to the game expecting to see a Mr. Basketball finalist and the #1 ranked team in the State perform at a high level and I was disappointed.
  3. Saw Cleveland play Warren Co tonight. I give them very little chance to win the State tournament this year. Probably the worst AAA #1 ranked team I've seen in 15-20 years. Not saying they are BAD, just comparing them to previous years. Also, not sure how their PG is a Mr. Basketball finalist or has signed with Belmont. He might have had 7-8 points tonight. He seems like a good kid, with a good attitude and a solid player, but I was expecting to see a much higher level of basketball from him and his team. In my opinion, the Berry kid #00 for Bradley Co. looks way better. Maybe I just witnessed their worst game of the year?
  4. If Dodgen's best player hadn't got hurt, WC would probably be 22-5 or 23-4. With only 2 District losses to Stone. WC would have had a chance to win the District and Region tournaments in Sparta. I'm sure Mitchell wouldn't be seen as such a great coach this year by WC fans if his best player was out for the entire season. I'm not a WC fan, but I'm curious to know, what games could WC have won this year if Dodgen was a better coach? (DeKalb Co.???) Where does Dodgen rank among the All-time best coaches in WC history? Is he not an upgrade from Haley?
  5. Probably a good thing for CCHS to have both the White Co. & Stone games cancelled. They've had enough 30 point losses already this year. In reality, these games wouldn't benefit either team.
  6. You might want to consider the possibility of Bradley Co's season ending too early this year. 6AAA teams are not trying to dodge playing them. White Co, Cookeville, Stone and Rhea Co could all beat BC on any given night. It wouldn't surprise me if there isn't a single District 5AAA team make it past the 1st round of the Region Tournament. We might just end up playing the District 6AAA Tournament at White Co twice this year!!!
  7. So your calling for a CR win? I'll take SM to win a close one. I think SM is the better team, although @ CR is always a tough place to get a win for any team.
  8. Stone by far best team in District 6AAA. If we lose a district game, it's because we beat ourselves.
  9. Tough game tonight for Stone Memorial. We got plenty of good looks tonight, but couldn't make anything (especially in the first half). We didn't shoot it very well in either of the last 2 games. Bad time to go cold shooting the ball. Credit to BC & RD, they out played us and earned both wins. Tough path for any team to try to get wins @ Bradley Co. & @ Riverdale. Proud of our players & coaches. First class program.
  10. Are you referring to the other high school across town named STONE MEMORIAL? The same SM that beat cumb. co. twice this year including a 20 point blowout @ cumb. co. The same STONE MEMORIAL that is still playing this season because they were able to win a 1st round regional tournament game. I mean come on man, time to touch base with reality. cumb. co. was a decent team this year, not that great. You guys just lost at home to the other district's 4th place team. Give some credit to the teams that beat y'all and quit being a cry baby about refs and talking junk about the other team's kids. You seem to be the only c.c. fan on here that's delusional & defending this point of view. cumb co has very little chance of EVER getting out of this Region (this was supposed to be THEIR YEAR right?). STONE owns cumb co.!!! They have ZERO chance of beating STONE MEM. again for a long, long time. Get use to that fact!!!
  11. I think White Co is a little better than Cookeville on a neutral floor.
  12. My prediction was incorrect. Game wasn't close. Stone handled cumb. co. pretty easy. And if anything, the refs helped keep it closer than it should have been. 75-55 Final.
  13. Looking forward to watching the Lady Panthers play tomorrow night at cumb co. It should be a good game. I think SM will win a close one.
  14. CC fans must have been pretty bad at the White Co. game Tuesday night, because some of their fans/parents posted apologies on Facebook yesterday for the way they acted. Jerry Springer show was evidentially in full effect. I heard there were multiple adults not only harrassing and cussing the refs, but also making derogatory comments towards WC players. That's about as low class as it gets.
  15. Refs didn't cost CC the game. I've talked to several CC fans that said, "game strategy" & "Frustrated CC guards jacking up 30 ft. airballs cost them the game". CC should have been 10+ points better than WC in Crossville, but they obviously weren't. Both teams played without one of their starters due to an injury. Dodgen is a pretty sharp coach.
  16. Stone Memorial goes 3-0 in West Palm Beach Invitational to win the Championship. Really solid competition, great contributions from alot of different girls. Hard to scout this team. Different players stepping up each game.
  17. Thank you for bringing that to our attention. We will do our best in the future to keep our grandmas under control. They do get quite rowdy sometimes.
  18. CC has won most the games over SM the past 6 years. That's true. Congratulations. But, some additional facts are this: not one person from SM got kicked out of any of those previous games, blammed the refs, cussed, screamed or cried about it. NOT A SINGLE TIME. SM fans and parents aren't the ones that need safe spaces, coloring books or lessons about Class & sportsmanship. And your statement about starting this tread to bash players is flat wrong. Read the original post. And the only thing that was mentioned about your coach was that her brother got thrown out of the gym. That's not bashing the coach. No reason to bash her, she's not even the one running that program. She's just a puppet with an elementary coach and a brother pulling the strings. They've been running that program since she got the job. Everybody knows that. It's a joke.
  19. Both teams played hard on Monday night. Most of the kids on both teams are really good kids. And most of them get along with eachother. This tread was not created to see any kid from either school get disrespected or talked about in a negative way. I just wanted to shed some light on the poor sportsmanship displayed by several CC fans/parents (not players) in defeat. I can understand someone being loyal to their own team & school, but Hopefully next game, who ever loses will show a little more class. And, I will not be posting the video of anything that took place Monday night due to how obvious it would be as to who the video came from.
  20. I've got some great video footage of several acts of poor sportsmanship from CC fans on Monday night, during the game, after the game & including the ejection. It was sent to one of our fans from an embarrassed CC parent.
  21. Really??? The SMHS student section did worse stuff than screaming F-bombs at the refs and throwing up double middle finger birds as they were getting ejected and escorted out the door??? I don't think so. Great example for all the young kids in the gym. I'm amazed that the principal & the SRO @ CC still allows some of your fans to attend any CC sports event.
  22. Me Too! Wish we played them 10x every year. Always a big crowd with a great atmosphere & The Cumb Co. "Jerry Springer Show" is cheap entertainment ---- Jerry! Jerry! Jerry!
  23. So are you saying that CC players can't guard Stone's players without fouling them?? Or are you saying CC can't beat Stone unless the refs let them foul and don't call it?? Or are you saying they should change the rules for CC players and let them get more than 5 fouls each?? Or are you saying CC really didn't foul and the refs just made stuff up because they wanted to CC lose??
  24. The foul count was close to even. Cumb Co. probably had 4 or 5 more, but those fouls came in OT when they were trying to stay in the game & intentionally fouling. Stone missed some late FT's so C.C. kept fouling. Both teams had 1 player fouled out before the end of the 4th Q. The refs called the game the same both ways. They were consistent in not allowing hand checks and they called multiple player control fouls on both teams. But it is a circus anytime Cumb Co. doesn't win if you watch how they act. Not much class on display. I don't think they have ever lost a game that the refs weren't cheating. Gotta blame somebody.
