So far it's just ugly to watch

Don't blame you for doing a little crowing this year .You have heard it from a few of the Devil fans for years.I just call it the way I see it. AC has went hunting for a 1000 pound Green Bear and forgot to take a weapon over the last few years except one .Yes,I think the one year your QB got hurt was your year and that was sad. This year right out of the gate with the Devils giving up points like we have not seen in a long time and with a very young team,AC has it's weapons and this Green bear has just came out of hibernation and only weighs about 200 pounds. So,if AC get's it done,that's fine and I wish them the best going forward because there is a 1500 pound bear in Elizabethton.

I think it will be a one year deal,win or lose.I believe the Greene monster will be back and a lot bigger next year . This year that monster is next weeks winner to battle.

Don't forget that this isn't for a gold ball. The biggest obstacle in 4A this year is in Carter county and Elizabethton will be waiting on the winner, nomatter where they have to play the game.

Have to say this will take a great game by the young Devils and we all know it. Can the Devils win,sure ! Will the Devils win,that's why the game is played.

Beating Greeneville this year is not the same as in the past few years. The monkey on your back in years past was really an 800 pound green Gorilla. Greeneville is a very young team this year.The 800 pound Gorilla for AC this year is more of an Orange color.I wouldn't get to excited until after you whip that monster.

Ron could get folks torn up.I loved to go and watch the fans more then the matches as a kid . I believe he kind of helped get Doug Furnas started wrestling later on.I was in a gym in Greeneville years ago and seen a couple of long haired guys that looked like the " Party boys " that I had seen a day or two before wrestling on TV.One overheard me making that statement,came over and interduced himself and sure enough it was them.They brought Doug back to put on a little bench press show . Doug was one of the pound for pound or any way you want to say it,strongest humans to ever live.I went and watched him wrestle the Mongolian Stomper the next day.I know he could have killed the much older Stomper but didn't.Pro wrestling might be fake on the outcome but Ron and those guys were still great athletes.

Did I see that Central score correctly from Friday night.76 - 6 and it was Central with the 76.. I haven't read a lot on that but I'm sure there are some crying about the score being ran up. How long has it been since Central has beat someone by 70.

Yep,I wish there was a better answer to this.I know that if I were back when my kids were playing and covid was the only reason their careers came to an end,I would have been mad about everything surrounding it.I guess anytime that anything or anyone hurts your family,the bottom line for all of us that care is to strike back anyway we can. I'm very biased in my thinking as I guess most of us are.I understand people that may have several kids and both young parents working needing to have the schools open .I also well understand folks being the only care givers for older loved ones and weighing out stopping at the front door or spending every last second they can together.

I agree Frauddle,it's always tough when those seniors play their last game and what's going on right now makes it even worse.A loss on the field compared to something like this would be a better ending to those young mens football career,atleast they got a chance that way.I'm by no means heartless about that part of this year.

Just my opinion and we all have one on this.I say let them play if they are healthy but schools with a covid problem had better think about going back to at home learning. In a perfect world all school teachers and folks that worked in the schools,drove the bus and everything else would be twenty something and in perfect health.Also, all parents and grandparents wouldn't be at risk either .This isn't like someone who smokes and knows it's a risk,so they go outside and stay away from everyone because of second hand considerations.No, this can kill someone for just being at the wrong place at the right time and taking in one breath of air.Just think of the warning that would be on a pack of cigarettes if it were as possibly deadly as covid to the smoker and those around them.'' Yes sir,I love to see local talent shine at the next levels and I don't care what school they come from.I know one from Elizabethton and one from DB are still going strong in the pros as well.

I would say yes they have a chance.I have seen what I thought were impossible outcomes at every level.Keeping it real ,South will have to have some help in the way of turnovers,Betsy penalties ,and just everything go right for the Rebs.Any other normal year,I would have went to this game just for the heck of it.

I see.To be honest I've not been keeping up with a lot of the back and forth stuff.I personally have always given Elizabethton their due and call it how I see it.Several of the posters from Elizabethton are the same.Take Lawnman as a good example of that.Now I know there are a few Devil fans that have given it out over the years and better be able to take it now.I've got a lot of ties to the Elizabethton area with my in-laws and know a lot of fine people from most parts of town and Carter county alike.What is it the sign says going up towards my mother-in-law's home place in Stoney Creek.If you kill one of ours and so on.Anyway, one of my boys is named after the Taylor family up that way and I respect the toughness that comes out of your county.Part of my wife's family is on that war monument in town .Our communities are much the same and it's fitting that the sports programs have been very competitive over the years.

Witten is a fine coach and Ballard was also. I'm really not sure how to word the rest because by reading your post,you almost contradict your own words .It's either Ballard got a lot out of his athletes or Tennessee sucks at coaching them.

Elizabethton matches up with everyone in 4a with their combined skill and line play. I only see two things that could possibly stop them .One can stop any team this year and it's Covid,the other for Elizabethton in my opinion is Elizabethton not playing up to it's potential.Other then that,if Betsy stays healthy,like I've said since last year ended, it's theirs to lose.

Well brother,I pick this post as my favorite . Took a while for you to gear the temper back a little.I was thinking about how you beat that golf club for what seemed like an hour and then tried to straighten it back up,haha.Thats what I think we loved most about any competition we ever had, watching the other go crazy. I know what I was thinking when I read the post about Witten punching you in the face. Maybe today, but not back in the day.You have stood up to guys that make his big brother look small.Anyway,it was a fun read and as you said , Elizabethton just kicked the Devils backsides and not much more to add.

Not really a lot to say except Elizabethton is the man right now in 4A and we all know what has to happen if you want to be the man.Very well coached team with a lot of fine athletes. Congratulations on a continuation from last year's super team.If the Devils can't get it done in the playoffs, I'll do like last year and pull for the NET representative.

Close game so far and as I said, nomatter what the finish in this game, it's just the first fight . It's the playoffs that count.Win or lose,these teams will both be back.

My thoughts on this game... Greeneville should grow some more or atleast know where they are for the playoffs and moving forward.The winner or loser doesn't get a gold ball. So even if a shocker occurred this week,it doesn't put Elizabethton out of the playoffs and Greeneville has to still win when it counts. I'm not that excited or deflated about the outcome either way at this point. Personally,a conference championship means nothing compared to being hot and rolling in the playoffs.That goes both ways and Betsy will be even better by playing this game.The very bottom line that has been touched on and has stood the test of football time is who wins the trenches .If anyone seen the first of last week's UT and Georgia game,they knew it would take a lot of good luck for the big Orange.I was working after halftime and the surprise Tennessee was leading.I ask a coworker who won and he said what do you figure happened.I said this without knowing at the time and still haven't seen the game.I figured they had to take chances ,made mistakes and their luck ran out, probably ugly and not talking about Georgia's Bulldog . Bottom line,Greeneville is capable but will have to grow more between now and when it counts the most.

Batman will stay out of all that stuff.I would be the last to police any topic when it comes to literature and for sure spelling. Now if someone wanted to talk numbers, anyway,it should be a great game between a young talented team and a state power trying to stay at the very top.

Yep, Devils looking good so far
