Wonder if Catswatcher had PC in his combination of 6 that could go to state ? I would say not! Does that mean it's 5 now ? Just wondering ?

We wouldn't have been able to keep him though because he was already calling some college games. No doubt in my mind he was on the fast track to where he wanted to be which was major college and then NBA. He was a great young man !

There was a young man who absolutely loved his job as a referee, he was not only one of the best young referees he was one of the best PERIOD ! He took pride in his appearance, performance and every aspect of his job ! He was one that even when a call went against you, you knew that it was most likely the right call. Unfortunately he passed away due to illness at age 29 last year. TSSAA should show video of his games to new and veteran officials to show how it should be done ! Not mentioning his name but coaches and players know who I'm talking about. His father by the way is a pretty darn good referee also.

Yeah, well I guess you are in a part of the state that has decent officials. At this point we would be happy with decent because the chance of getting a good crew are not very good. I was being sarcastic about coaches calling games but it is bad. Teams are not getting what they pay for and the ones that suffer are the players and aren't they who it's supposed to be about? They're paid to do a job, the players are there to learn, get better and have fun representing their school !

Maybe if TSSAA had to pay the officials instead of the schools they would hold them accountable?

T$$AA is all about the money. You're absolutely right, somebody's season will come to an end because of incompetence. They should realize people don't come to watch them, they come to watch the game, and to whoever said that if it were left up to the coaches and players it would be a scrimmage? It would be called better!

They're not held accountable! You're right,there are a lot of good officials but definitely not enough to go around. Most take pride in their job. Just takes 1 out of 3 to make the whole crew look bad. My biggest complaint is inconsistency. Calling one way then completely changing. I've seen some scrimmages called better by the way !

Two words : THEY'RE TERRIBLE!! From what I've seen it's pretty much everywhere. All about them, let players and coaches decide games, not them !

I feel your pain! I agree with you except it's not just in your area,it seems to be most everywhere! I know that they used to make 85 for the doubleheader if so that's about 82.50 too much. You're absolutely right that they think the game is about them.Just make the calls and let players and coaches win or lose the game!

You're right about the lack of competition and exposure but sportswriters should be able to get information on players from one end of the state to the other with video, social media and everything. Still Political!!

This tournament is up for grabs. Anyone of those top 4 could win it and don't completely dismiss PC. They haven't played well at times but they have the talent to make a run if they get hot at the right time, which is now but winning at Summertown will be hard for sure.

I'm sure all the players are deserving of being selected as finalists but I don't know how you keep Hunter Vick from Camden off the list in AA ?

Has anyone heard, is Izaya Brown from Humboldt going anywhere ? He should, he's a very good athlete !

I'm sure all of the players that you have mentioned are deserving but Hunter Vick from Camden Central is a great player,check his stats. Over 2000 points for his career. He's a complete player. Has had to carry the team in the past and did so but can also play with help as indicated this year with the addition of the Womack kid, Vick definitely deserves consideration for Mr Basketball in AA

Like I said the players know. I'm in the stands every night cheering them on. I will be there Tuesday night doing the same thing vs Frank Hughes encouraging ALL OF THEM!!

The players know that I support and cheer for ALL of them!! Not just some! As long as the players know that's all that matters, not what someone else thinks they know !

So basketballfan1234 thinks that Brown and Barber are the only 2 that played hard ? I've been to every game this year and Perry and Young not only play hard every game but every possession. Barber goes hard also. Some take possessions off and don't always play defense.Only interested in scoring and stats ?

Yeah, Perry is #23. He always plays hard and gives 100 percent. He always draws the other teams best scorer on defense and played all 32 mins tonight. He never lets up !

Brown should go somewhere for sure but don't think it will be a major D1 school. He should play somewhere, he's too good not to.
