  1. It's impossible to ride all the way to state with just one player. You may be able to beat smaller, less skilled, less disciplined teams with that player. Once you get to the top teams, though, that player gets shut down, even if he is good enough to compete with them. I don't see them going through. Sorry.
  2. Ha, I always loved the old Smyrna coach. I loved him at first because he always yelled at his players, but then I finally got to meet him because he was a good friend of my old high school coach. They were both Greek . He's a good guy. It makes me wonder what the new coach will be like and if he can get his players to perform at all. No matter how much I don't like them, they usually have some skill up there in Smyrna. Don't take them too lightly.
  3. Too demanding..? Wow...anyway. I can vouch for Dakis coaching out of state as well. I talked to him in person about it. He'll be big ballin' there Looks like sccrplr5 shows his ignorance and arrogance about certain subjects again... Please keep away from posting condescending remarks or attacks, or else it will force others (such as myself, unfortuantely) to do the same towards you in defence.
  4. Yeah, they are a pretty darn good team, out of the two games I've seen. I can see where you're coming from tiger09. It's Juliet, in case you're wondering. Also, they wouldn't play Rossview in a region semi-final if they kill us like you predict (and let's face it, every one predicts). That is unless Clarksville beats Rossview, which shouldn't happen because Rossview is a much better team, though Clarksville is still solid. Thought I'd share thumb
  5. I'm pretty sure that wasn't a score. I think that was his predtion for seeding....thanks for the confidence though thumb ...
  6. What are the match-ups, time and place? A friend on MJCA told me they play York at 4:30, but I wasn't sure if MJCA is hosting the tournament. Also, who do you think will win? I am surprised with Friendship this year, being undefeated and tying up Livingston. We unfortunately didn't play them this year, nor have I seen them play. Think they could win it?
  7. Does anyone have details of the district tournament game? Besides the score of course.
  8. Well, I didn't see the Smyrna/White House game, and I'm not going to comment on our team because we weren't particularly pleased with our play, but the other two games... For Hendersonville, I can't really say anyone in particular. Out of what I saw (the first half and some of the second), the offence played decently well as a team, with nothing that was all one individual. Kelly had a nice little volley, but that's about it. Other's just seemed to play well, but no names. For LaVergne (Gallatin seemed out of it for most of the game and played the long ball too much), #20, extremely tall midfielder/defender, and #14, small and quick forward, were their key players. Those two are the reason for the first 3 goals. #20 hit the #14 on long throw ins, and Gallatin couldn't mark. #3 (I think) had a nice indivdual play for the last LHS goal. Hope I helped. Does anyone have details of the last game (Smyrna/White House), besides the score? I would have liked to stay, but I was hungry
  9. Mt. Juliet and LaVergne play at 8 PM on Monday night, and I'm sure there wouldn't be a game at 10 PM, so I believe (but am not sure) that Hendersonville and Smyrna will play around 6 PM Monday night.
  10. Alright, time to call it a night, guys. While hilarious, and it seems like it is all in good fun, these topics might get out of hand soon. If you want to continue the banter, either send a private message, or converse on AIM. These posts don't bother me because I'm getting a good laugh, but I'm sure others are getting annoyed for wasting space on the forum. In case you have more comments on intelligence though, sccrplr5, I believe we all live in Tennessee, which (no offence to anyone else) isn't known for incredibly high standards of education. Saying we're stupid for living out in the middle of no where (Mt. Juliet is less than 30 minutes away from Nashville, by the way) is a little pointless. It's Tennessee. While there are exceptions (trying to avoid offending everyone ), we's all some hicks.
  11. I've got some friends who play for Wilson Central, and though it is extremely far-fetched, I'd love to see the upset. On any given day...so good luck WHHS, LHS, and WC! Those aren't my predictions, I'd just like to see those teams win...
  12. See, I don't know what they'd gain from losing on prupose. They would finish 4th or 5th, correct? The only explanation I can think of for purposely losing is that they are afraid of LaVergne, which (don't get me wrong, LaVergne is a decently strong team, and I hope they can pull a win against Gallatin, I'll be at the game) doesn't make sense either. Smyrna is at least as good as LHS. Can anyone think of any other reason for throwing the game? And anyone from White House, please don't take this the wrong way. Maybe you caught them off guard and deservedly dominated the whole game. I wish I could have been there to see the game. Hope you do it again tomorrow afternoon! thumb
  13. Wow. That really surprises me. I knew White House would play tough, so I wasn't expecting a blow out, but especially not from White House. Congrats on the huge win. You upset how the district usually ends up. Will that make WH 4th in the standings now? Congrats again.
  14. Does anyone know the outcome of the Hendersonville - Gallatin game tonight? Or any comments on the game?
  15. Yeah, Rossview is as good as their ranking shows. They are a very solid team, who I personally hope to meet in regionals. First, we have to get out of districts, but I hope we meet them again. I didn't think either team deserved to lose tonight, though Rossview had more chances in the first half. The second was 50-50 mostly (keyword). While neither team deserved a loss, we made more mistakes than Rossview, and they capitalized like all good teams should. Good game again.
  16. Anyway.... Hopefully the game will be as good as last year. 4 to 4. That was a fun game, but too bad I got my head cut open in the last few minutes. Hope it won't happen this time. Good luck to you, soccerdude2006, and see you tomorrow night!
  17. I agree with the coach. White House is most definitely better than their record shows, but they have a decently hard schedule. I know I was surprised at how much talent the team actually had. If you come ready to play, you can give them a good game, and maybe pull out a win. Smyrna is still a solid team, but if they come in looking for a kill, you can surprise them. It'll be a tough game. Good luck to White House, especially the seniors thumb .
  18. Wow, Notre Dame isn't even in your top 10? I know it is your opinion, so is there any reason?
  19. That's how we think. I'm not going to sit and blow our own horn, though, so I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Rossview will be a good test, and hopefully we'll come out on top and show that we've got potential. Can't wait.
  20. 05 meant WOW isn't making that up...I can vouch for it too. Though the defender did do a good job of marking for a majority of the game, all of what WOW said is true.
  21. I know I'm looking forward to it. We've heard Station Camp is a pretty solid team. Can't wait to play against some hard competition. Anyone not on either team have any thoughts?
  22. I didn't hear the coach's comment. I've learned to tune him out over the past few years. It is hard to believe he'd compliment anyone though, since there was almost a fight last year after our game between him and our coach/players. He seemed gracious enough though when he came to tell me good game. Maybe he has changed for the better. Anywho, WOW, don't worry about that guy. He just doesn't want to admit that we dserved a second goal, no matter how we got it. Respect :snaps: And the guy from Smyrna, please don't come here to talk trash, because the people from MJ are doing a pretty decent job of keeping it to ourselves. I don't agree that Bubba was shut down completely though. Maybe a little, but he also has become a better player than the last few years, learning he doesn't have to shoulder everything himself. So just drop it. Hope to see you in the tournament.
  23. Like I said in another topic, we used to be divided into North and South District 9, but aren't anymore. We were in South, and each team from the South this year plays two teams from the North. We drew for teams, and unfortunately (or fortunately, whichever way you look at it) we didn't draw Hendersonville.
  24. Thanks. I loved seeing the score too. As for the schedule, I don't know why we don't play everyone (I'd love to play Gallatin and Hendersonville in the regular season), but it might have something to do with how the district used to be. District 9 used to be broken up into North and South. MJ, Smyrna, Wilson Central, and LaVergne were South I believe. Now, we play those three teams as well as two teams from the North district. That's why we only play 5 games. If I had my way, we'd play all 7 of the other teams. Good luck with your season too. And by the way, I'm not even sure if Bubba is the leading goal scorer. He may be, but it's really close.
  25. Yeah, the second goal was pretty bad. In my opinion (and I'm trying to be as unbiased as possible) we deserved a second goal, just wish it wouldn't have been that way. Oh well, yall played well (though it got a little heated at the end) so we'll hopefully see you in disticts. Also, sccrplr5, don't be hating on all of district 9. We've got some decent teams too
