KWC. Yes Clearly. I'm not sure why you have discounted what I have said this year but I know what I am talking about. After tonight's game I would say again that CLEARLY Covington is the better team. I'm not knocking your Memphis teams but obviously you did not have the info that I had. Trezevant let SGC put up more that 34 points on that defense ( you said not going to happen) and Covington put a rented mule on the RE. Congrats to your Memphis teams for their success this year. So again CLEARLY in my opinion Covington the better team.

Another thing that may have an impact on this game is Covington has a legit kicker. He looked really really good when we played them. RE does not field a kicker to my recollection. I could see Covington winning this game because of that kicker.

Well here recently SGC has been losing kids to Milan....... I will NEVER (so dont even ask) open that can of worms but we have had a couple of (athletic) kids move in to the district just because of sports...... Several things are working against Milan right now and several things are working for them.... How things play out over the next several years is going to be really really interesting. Milan is proud town and has every right to be. I really hope that Morris got leave on his terms.... I as a SGC guy is glad that he is gone but I recognize great when I see it.... Probably why I have been successful in my career choice. Morris made more with less year in and year out.... I hope the are calling the pressbox, the bleachers, the parking lot, or something in his honor....

Morris is a legendary coach that should have something at the stadium named after him. Milan is going to miss him. Tip my hat to the guy. I hope he finds what he is looking for in retirement. Milan is a very attractive job.

I think this will be a game for a while. But Covington seemed to much more disciplined on both sides of the ball and they do not have players playing both ways. RE was not real messy with penalties but they did have a few bone headed mistakes that really come back to haunt you when you play a good team. Not having players go both ways is really going to help Covington in the 4th quarter. I picked Covington to go all the way to the state championship game. Covington has not played very well in its last couple of outings but I honestly think they will get it together and get up and play better for this game. RE is certainly capable of winning this contest. If the game wasn't so far I would definitely be there.

I have seen both teams play. Covington clearly is the better team. RE is no joke though. They have the best running back I have seen this year. Covington is the best team I have seen this year as a whole. Hey covington " Stop #3 and you win this contest hands down. " He is handful and it will not be easy but if you can stop him you stop RE.

BPM. Lots of love you to your dawgs. Morris really is legend I hope the Milan folks step back and see it. I have HEARD a ton about what he was going to after this season........ I hope the Milan folks let him leave with class and pride if that is what he wants to do. He always got the best out of his kids. The last thing I want for this coach is to leave with a nasty in his mouth. Morris is a great coach and deserves something to be named after him inside the stadium. Can you imagine what would have happened in Gibson county if both of our teams won tonight's game????? They would have to shut the county down.

Congrats to RE. Good luck next Friday against Covington. 5 turnovers......... Dont really know what to say.... Grandberry is the real deal. He is the best running back I have seen this year. Covington is the best team I have seen this year. So the match up between the 2 schools looks like a fine one. Proud of my Hornets. This class of seniors left its mark on the program. I hope all of our kids know that our entire community is proud of them and they represented our town with class and dignity. SGC never laid down and made everyone that played them know they were in for a fight. Lots of emotions were left on that field tonight. This is last time most of these kids will ever strap it up and play a ball game. Even with the all of the turnovers SGC had a chance to win the game. We left 14 points on the field with them, and probably 7 more points because of them. If the turnover margin is even SGC wins this game. I am not making excuses for the game RE won fair and square. A caller on our local radio said " great teams really make you pay for your mistakes" he was absolutely correct. RE made the best of the gifts and converted them into points.... points wins every single time. Good luck to RE next week vs Covington. Yall are going to need some of it if you want to beat the chargers this year. GO HORNETS!!!!!

I said I probably would not post again but this is comical. You made me laugh. KWC do me a favor and go back and read again what I said. I never called you any names or said that you said anything outlandish. I have said for years that everyone should have to make public who they are. People get on public forums and spread crazy when they can hide behind the internet. Im not one of them. I was simply saying that most everyone around here knows who I am and sharing my honest opinion. A special teams play is the difference in this contest. KWC have a great Friday. Fair. I will not shame you for your opinion about the Crockett and the Covington losses. the Crockett game was a lot closer than the scoreboard says. We were tied at halftime against Crockett and we had several calls that simply did not go into our favor. I am not making excuses we lost to a better team that night. Crockett won the game fair and square. The covington game came down to turnovers. We gifted the chargers 3 turnovers with fabulous field position and they converted all of them into touchdowns. Also we lost one of our very best defenders on D mid way in the 2nd quarter. He laid lifeless on field for several minutes.... I know you were not there but it was extremely scary and I think it took some of the wind out of our sails. Also we moved the ball against covington and scored some points. Covington is the best team I have watched play this year. So " whats a guy to think " think this. RE is going to run ruff shot over the hornets this Friday and go on to win the state. I am telling you that in my honest opinion SGC finds a way to win the game. I am not a coward that hides behind the internet with shameless posts and outlandish words. I own what I say and I am telling you the same thing I said from the start. RE is favored on paper and should be but do not be surprised if SGC comes out of this game with a win. Also RE's schedule is terrible. They are undefeated but out of the 11 teams they have played how many have a winning record? 2 long shot says 3? Coach T's strength of schedule has them ranked in the low 40's and SGC is 13th I think. I probably will not post again about the game until the following day after the game... Its a long drive home. GO HORNETS!!!!!

I have heard the same thing from several people about the Lexington win. Its not the same team. Well SGC took its foot off the pedal and could have really embarrassed the tigers. Our coach has to much class and dignity to do that. Lexington set the tone for the season. I honestly believe we leave Memphis with a W this friday. Thats why we play the games!

Great post kwc. Lots of useful info shared. I have watched some film on RE now and the horse they have for a running back is the real deal. SGC will have its work cut out for them if they want to walk out of the stadium with a win this Friday. I am a homer but I believe in my hornets. We have a no name defense. We have 11 kids that will hull your head and really want to win. None of these kids are major D1 prospects and we get zero media coverage outside of our local paper and radio. That is perfectly fine with this unit. These kids are winners and will not lay down. If RE wins the game they are going to know they played hard fought game. I still say that anyone that pick RE is not crazy. They have the athletes, and great coaching. ( we have few of them ourselves ) Im ready to pick a score. SGC shocks the state rankings and continues its historic season. SGC wills themselves to victory due to a huge special teams play and sneaks out a win. SGC 28 RE 22

And to add to the above post I am an absolute homer. If my team is not in it I am going to pull for the team closest to me. Go Gibson County! We have 3 teams still in the T$$AA playoffs. Also I would like to add just as a friendly swipe to my friend BPM since SGC and Trenton beat Milan does that mean for the first time Milan is the 3rd best team in the county? Just kidding my friend. I really wanted to post that after we won our contest but you were so humble and gracious I could not find the heart to say it. Im hoping the sting has wore off since then. I think this is going to be a really close ball game. RE if favored on paper. RE has not played the schedule that SGC has. This may play into the favor of SGC. RE being home doesn't really matter last year they had 100 people show up for there first playoff game. Major Wright is great coach and obviously has his kids ready to play some ball. I have not watched any film on RE yet but I know that have a horse running the football for them. He should be a finalist for Mr. Football.

WOOOW.... Ok I love how the OP just assumes that RE is going to beat SGC. I would say that on paper RE is favored to win the contest but not not by much....... This game will be a lot closer than everyone expects. SGC very well could make the trip down to Memphis and get a W.

Thanks for the kind words BPM. You are the man! I have no clue how you keep up with all of those kids. Its like herding cats! Also I appreciate your generosity and support for us. Even though I know your a Milan guy I honestly believe you wanted SGC to win. I have been to several playoff games in years past pulling for the dawgs because when it all boils down I am a homer and I will pull for Gibson county if SGC is not in it. To who ever the poster that thought my score prediction was bold.... Well it was not bold enough SGC scored more than I thought and did not let Trez score enough points. I will say this. I am really really proud of this class of seniors. Being a senior in coach Stids system is a statement. These kids go thru heck and work really hard. The coach said " I do not believe in cutting kids... we make it so hard that they will cut themselves" I have a kid that is senior and we have lived it live and in color. What is funny to me is that all of our seniors that are on the team say basically the same thing. It will be worth it in the end. SGC will travel to RE next Friday in what I am going to say will be a barn burner!!! I have not watched any film on RE but obviously they are really good. SGC will need a great performance if they want to pull out the W.
