  1. Yellowjackets coming to Lion's hogpen to try and spoil our homecoming game and snap our undefeated season. Several surprise upsets last week, which proves once again any team can beat any other team in any given game. Can Greenfield add their name to another underdog win? A Goliath slayer? Will distractions of homecoming festivities show up on the field with Lions not doing so good? Or will Yellowjackets be another notch on Lions' belt? What say others?
  2. West Carroll score on 44 yd TD.. they get called for personal foul, would have nullified WC score.. but Dresden declines penalty & allows TD to count. 2pt PAT no good. 41-6 with 3 mins left.
  3. Running click for Lions in 4th with 9:00 left, 41-0. Maybe reserves can get some experience now. Gotta get them ready for future. Needless crazy penalties for Dresden is a big area we need to improve on.
  4. Everyone dittos injury free games & a quick return for those already bummed up, but this is one of those games where WC could topple DHS, if everyone on Lions side assumes it'll be an easy gimme game. Assured underdogs have a way of Gomer Pyle'ing the world, surprise Surprise SURPRISE. Winners never take any play, game, or player for granted but always play lights out, always. If they don't.. they won't keep winning very long. I don't think Lions will have this let-up & will play super well, & maybe non-starters can get some playing time if we have running clock. GO LIONS!
  5. MY list of Top Ten? #1 - DRESDEN #2-10... it don't matter. Expect me to say otherwise? I am the insane fan who has always said Lions are best, that before long we'll have to scrimmage colleges cause we so good. Perpetually at #1 on USA Today's best in nation, sitting there for decades. Ha! So say I, but ignore me, :-D, I am crazy, ask anyone. He he.
  6. Both teams undefeated in region 7, will War Eagles rise up & best Dresden, or will Lions win? Chime in fans, gurus, & onlookers. What say ye?
  7. Nope. No lie.. You are not good guys but GREAT MEN! Oh wow. I am a believer now. Hope LC & Lions keep this up, it will only make us both better & better playing such a never say die team(s). No matter who would of won both teams showed fantastic heart & character! LUV IT! AND LUV OUR LIONS!!!
  8. Oh wow!!! A game that was incredible! Both teams did themselves proud, big plays by both teams on both O & D and special teams...& yes, kudos to LC, they are for real!!! Truly are what everyone said & then some.I am a believer now. Falcons will indeed be flying high for several years with the players & the heart they showed tonight. Respect! ... But our Lions pulled from behind and overcame 33-24. Super close game. PROUD of our champions! Hope all the injured players on both teams make a quick & full recovery with no games missed. ... WHAT A GAME!!! Need to watch it on that huddle account if you have access. Another game that shows you NEVER QUIT in a game no matter what score is. A great lesson that will help in real life, where it's for keeps, & you shouldn't quit trying... nor give up on those "behind" & struggling in life. Keep on keeping on! (Sermonette over.. this game done stirred me up!!!)... WOOOOOW
  9. Haha. Yeah I do, but not that stuff, more of T.R.R. Tolkien & C.S. Lewis lands. Where Aslen the Lion reigns as king of the realm. And the good guys win.
  10. LC thinking they'll win. Nope. Falcons getting plucked & eaten by Lions. The End.
  11. FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS time baby! Go get 'em Dresden Lions! Give it your all & get another W.
  12. Yeppers, assuming that a second game will go the same as the first is unwise. The year before we won 1A Dresden beat Trenton pretty bad in regular season there, then in playoffs they soundly beat us at our place. Can't ever underestimate opponents nor overestimate selves. Getcha in trouble.
  13. My footballer son a few years back was "this close" to moving there & playing. We had pen in hand to sign the lease, I hesitated so I could discuss with rest of family back in Haywood, by time we got home the landlords changed mind, they selling out everything to Nash. Investor instead. So we ended up in Dresden. Love it here. There at SH everything is so nice and new too. Great facilities. And y'all's coach being tossed (& players if that happens), esp if it deemed unjust by almost all, that rallies the team & everyone becomes extra-everything.. faster, hitting, tackling & running, enthusiasm & energy, intensity... fans louder & more supportive. That may be a plus in SH column, not a negative. Add this enhanced emotions to the chance to play defending 1A champs, making everyone more stoked & pumped-up to take down Da Man. No way is DHS Lions underestimating you guys, not at all. You guys can (& do) beat teams you were supposed to lose big to, shocking the world more than once. And we trying to get used to all the new coaches, plays, schemes, which players are best at a position, overcoming several key injuries to starters already... yep, our Lions will have to earn everything this year. No gimmies at all. But I giving 10 to 1 odds, paying in gold coins, that the black & gold Lions team will win. Betcha. ...It is a pretty area over there. I think our Lions will enjoy the trip & scenery anyways, at least going there. Ha. On way back it might be a "burning derrière" & "flushed faces" from being embarrassed by the spanking we got from your Lions. Hope not. Don't think so. But there is a perfect storm of factors for a motivated team like SH to get a surprising win. DHS needs our A+ game for sure! Good luck, & no injuries upon either team. GO LIONS!
  14. Both of these black & gold Lions' go head to head. We're meeting for first time (I think it's 1st anyways). Reckon how this game will go?
  15. Haha. Typo for sure. It was late night & I had actually read a few articles about the football game Spring Hill in Columbia area had. Sounded like an exciting game. And I slipped a gear for sure (very common for this hick from the sticks) thinking about our week 2 game with Scotts Hill near Reagan. Nice, new school building they got too. Both our schools have same colors & mascot (Camden too). Scotts Hill, Spring Hill, maybe even a Sandy Hill, Swan Hill, Shadows Hill, Squirrels Hill, Snails Hill, Shady Hill, Spirit Hill, Snider's Hill, Sugar Hill, Sioux Hill, Snake Hill, Storm Hill, Salmon Hill, Shorty's Hill, Shark Hill, Sniper's Hill, Swede's Hill, Snow Hill, & who knows what else "___ Hill" name for a town is out there in them hilly areas. Ha. Easy to confuse an old codger like me who's the town clown & doesn't know anything anyways, and I should be ignored. Plus I've been thru many such towns in my travelling-the-USA days. All dem towns get all jumbled up in that tiny, empty, injured-often area between my ears. Sho Nuf. Yehaw. Pass that jug my cuz from da Hill. LUV IT!
  16. Glad this was a slug-fest fight, a back & forth battle. Neither team letting up, both teams had mistakes & big plays on both sides of the ball, with pure fight & tenacity on both teams. Proud of both teams, and extra happy our Lions got that first W. .. And man oh man, there are some true freshmen & underclassmen who are playing lights out, with last year's upperclassmen leading the way. Opponents can't go by last years team. We have a new coach with new offence & strategy, new defensive schemes, new players with diff skill sets. Put it together, and it looks like Lions are on the verge of being able to do what the best teams do almost yearly... We are not rebuilding, just reloading. Two or three deep we can tap their shoulder, send them in to play and there's hardly any let-up. This first win don't get a gold ball, however, even as one penny is the first step to a million dollars, so is this win the first step to their own gold & rings that awaits at the end of their journey. Next step is the game at Spring Hill, this Fri. at 7:.00. After enjoying this win men, laser focus in on preparing for next team. Give Spring Hill the "Dresden experience" too. Beast mode team!
  17. . It's here..... FOOTBALL TIME! 2017 is a new season, new teams in classes & regions, new players & coaches, new plays & schemes, new grass/field, new paint jobs, new equipment... so much new. But what will be same is Dresden Lions will keep on right where we left off last year. Guru's, coaches, experts, football professors, other teams, even some of our own fans are expecting a massive downgrading in Dresden. Methinks not. Lions are in full beast mode. Perhaps even more hungry than last year. Time will tell. GO LIONS!
