  1. Let's get some things straight! First, the incident at McGavock, during Thanksgiving, where a Hunters Lane basketball manager was shot DID NOT involve anyone from any school!! She, along with many other people were standing outside, after the game, waiting on their rides to pick them up. She was standing at the wrong place at the wrong time!! It could have been anyone hit with bullets from any school or fan standing there. She was purely in the wrong place at the wrong time. Idiots, not affiliated with either school were involved in the shooting. The cacnellation of the game was because people in the different communities unable to solve their problems. It DID NOT involve players or students from Hunters Lane, Antioch, or any school. It is people OUTSIDE in the community and they chose to 'settle things' at the ballgame. However, unfortunately, the good kids are the ones suffering. In2football, you are exactly right about the parent's responsibility to raise their kids right. Unfortunately, many kids don't have people at home that care about them. Therefore, they migrate to people who they feel will take care of them. In cards, you can only play with the hand you are delt. With schools, you can only teach the kids you have and do the best you can. There are great kids in all schools however there are also kids who don't care and cause trouble. Until the whole society stops looking the other way, ignoring things, it will continue to get worse. Holding people accountable for their actions is the only way to help solve the problem!
  2. Hunters Lane will not have to forfeit any of their wins. The student in question has been declared eligible by Metro and TSSAA. Can't go into details because it involves the student's personal file. WERE BAAAAAAACK!!
  3. If I remember correctly, Stratford and Austin East tied with one loss each but Stratford beat Austin East by 2pts. Austin East beat Hunters Lane by 1 and H.L. and Cleveland tied in their match. Play was suspended Saturday due to heavy rain and Stratford was declared champions. Hunters Lane linemen won the Lineman competition!!
  4. Robert Ellison, Anthony Lippe, and Jeremy Young were the best on that team. Robert Ellison was what made them go, he was the MVP. Robert went to WC, Jeremy's season ended way too early due to injuries, and Lippe played well at times for HL this season.
  5. What plan b would you suggest? HL overachieved all season. They have only 5 players, no size, ... I think our Coach got more out of the hand he was dealt than anyone could have. They shot the 3 ball all year, won 28 games, advanced to the state final 8. And by the way, your Cobras have MUCH more depth, size, and ability BUT the 3's beat them 3 times. That said, I hope our neighbors (Whites Creek) bring home the gold ball.
  6. Jeremy Young is not ineligible. He has never failed a class. He's had some injuries. He will return next season.
  7. Game time is 7:00 Get there early to get a seat!! Go Warriors
  8. The Lane takes another one and will be packing for The Boro. Clarksville is a good young team but a good older team takes the game. Come early to get a good seat!
  9. I have seen Franklin only once. I know they have an impressive record. But if they run with Hunters Lane, they're gonna get beat. Nobody can run with the Warriors!
  10. They are 21-4, 1st in tough 12-AAA, and killing people lately. They will show everyone they belong when they make it to the 'boro!
  11. I have seen many successful high school teams employ 5 guard line-ups. I guess Coach Pitts Science Hill teams a few years ago were the best I've ever seen. Franklin years back with Kevin Anglin and company were incredible. Hunters Lane has that type of line-up this season and are very fun to watch play. Some advantages: 5 ball handlers, 5 perimeter shooters, relentless full court pressure, ... Some disadvantages: Half court post defense, rebounding, ... Who are some of the best ever 5 guard, small lineups? Do you believe the advantages outweigh the disadvantages?
  12. How 'bout Hunters Lane's Mike Jones dunk on Whites Creek last Friday. Pretty nasty!
  13. When HL is energized, they are tough to deal with. Their press gives them energy. Even when you break it, the tempo is increased and the pace is faster. In an uptempo game, HL is tough. Even though I'm a HL fan, I still believe WC is a better half court team. WC has much more size and post presence. All HL has is Henley, and he's really a guard or wing but is forced to play the post at 6'3. Why did Gershom Jordan play only 3 minutes? He is who killed us last year in the region. Congrats Warriors. Looks like back-to-back regular season 12-AAA championships.
  14. This will be a good measuring stick for the Lady Warriors against Mt. Juliet. I hope this will be a close game with, of course, Hunters Lane on top!!
  15. You know what they say about ifs!! If Hunters Lane shoots the ball like they have all year, it might not be that close.
  16. Friday's Line Up (I think?) 4:00 - Girls Consolation Hunters Lane v. Lebanon 5:30 - Boys Consolation Covington v. MtJuliet 7:00 - Girls Championship McGavock v. Brainerd 8:30 - Boys Championship Hunters Lane v. McGavock
  17. Mt. Juliet won! Covington won! Hunters Lane won!!!! This sets up a Covington (former coach at H.L. Bodenhamer) vs. Hunters Lane at 5:30
  18. I still think Antioch can still do some damage in the district this year!
  19. Coach Allen is a class act and a great coach. Too bad Hillsboro did not do him right. But Hillsboro's loss is definately Mt. Juliet's gain.
  20. Could this erase the doubters out there about Hunters Lane?? Still alot of District play left. Everyone is talking about the big two, Hunters Lane & Whites Creek, but can there be anyone else in the district (Antioch, Maplewood, McGavock) that could battle them this season??
  21. Great game Warriors. Keep up the hard work!! Still a long ways to go in District play!!!
  22. Shadow, could the answer to your question be . . . . . . . NEVER???? Don't count the Warriors out just yet!
  23. At Hunters Lane this past year: Josh Murehead - 6'4" and 400 + lbs Eric "Puddin" Williams - 6'3" and 385 lbs Aaron Thomas - 6'4" and 375 lbs Keyanthony Patterson - 6'3" and 360 lbs Brandon "Big B" Bentley - 6'2" and 350 lbs That was a lot of beef!!
  24. First of all, it is apparent that my old school has special ed and "HLHS", you must be riding the short bus to school. Man are you embarassing. You make the Warriors look bad. Seriously, stay off the computer and break out your Grammar book, or change your screen name, PLEASE! Also, to put Gallatin and Hendersonville down is ignorant. Both have quality programs. As for 5-5A, the region will be very competitive, but probably not the best in the state. There are no weak teams. All 8 teams have a legit shot at the playoffs. The new teams to the region, Overton and Hillwood, are somewhat of a mystery. Both had good seasons last year, now how will they adjust to 5A? As for the returning teams, last year McGavock was first, followed by Gallatin, Hunters Lane, and Antioch. Hendersonville was probably the best team in the state not to make the playoffs, and Glencliff had a solid season and best team they've had in a while. The only "automatic win" team last year was Beech, and they have moved down to 4A. The teams that are the most consistent every week will be the teams playing in the playoffs. If I had to predict an order of finish, my guess is: 1. Hendersonville 2. Hunters Lane 3. Gallatin 4. McGavock 5. Antioch 6. Overton 7. Hillwood 8. Glencliff
