More of an attempt at sarcasm than anything else. The way it was worded, sounds like the poster believes that Oakland just has 'a little' to work with. Just because these young men played behind a ridiculously talented group of seniors last year, doesn't necessarily mean they are 'little to work with'. That was my only point. Believe me, Oakland needs NO motivation from a bunch of fans on a message board. We'll put our best product on the field and let the chips fall where they may.

I sure hope we can play a good first half then, and maybe hang around until the 3rd quarter. Must've been pretty lucky to hang on and beat Independence, Maryville, and Riverdale. Maybe our 'little' can keep it close for a little while. I sure hope you represent how Blackman feels about our 'little'. 'The most out of a little'......wow!!! Great locker room material!!! I definitely didn't mean to suggest otherwise. My point was just that coaching is a HUGE advantage, but you still have to have players. Hopkins is definitely a difference maker. I was just saying that the whole 'anybody could do it' statement was a little far-fetched.

For the record, I've personally watched the Oakland QB coach and several others at different programs teach their QBs to 'look off' DBs. You must have missed the last play before the half, the Oakland QB 'looks off' the Maryville safety to the middle of the field and then hits the TE on a corner route. This set up the FG attempt right before halftime. It's a common coaching tool. Nothing groundbreaking. Yes, Maryville is well-coached.........but they have PLAYERS, too. A pretty big injustice to their kids to even hint at the fact that 'anybody' could have played as well as their QB played. Just my .02
