  1. Not always but more often than not the freshman teams dominate most others. I haven’t followed as long as you I know but Im knowledgeable decently lol. There will always be weaker classes. And I wasn’t just talking about just basketball. I meant all sports. I love Coach Poore. Him and Idellete(wrestling) are the best coaches in Kingsport rn. The “idk what happens after” was more a football comment. I’d say out the last 10 years 6 or 7 of those classes were hands down better than anyone they play in baseball football and basketball.
  2. I’ll agree DBs freshman teams have always ran thru everyone in every single sport since I can remember. I don’t really know what happens after that. This is obviously a rebuilding year even though I thought that they would be a tad better than they are right now. They will be fine though. I like the young guard #5 and Hayworth the post. Both of them are gonna be forces. And the 2 freshman that have been dressing out some are gonna be good.
  3. I don’t think this one is gonna be resumed. Some think 14-14 is good for DB but it’s not. It should’ve been 21-7 easily at the half. I know you have to establish your running game and some of it’s working but I swear if we don’t stop with the screens. Toss it deep. Defensive back is the toughest position to play in high school football. Take advantage of that. They threw 2 deep balls. One barely missed and the other was a drop on the last play of the half(also a holding that negated it anyway). But you can’t expect to hit those when you don’t throw them much. Quillen for Greeneville is an absolute dawg and definitely the best player on the field. Peyton Franklin for DB has ran really tough and been impressive. DB defense is tough. Wish there wasn’t a delay.
  4. If anyone wants to stop by the tailgate before the game. Me and a few others from Texas Roadhouse will be catering the tailgate. Pulled pork sandwiches!! Come bye and let me know you’re from coacht. My name’s Jordan. I’d love to get to know some passionate football fans!
  5. This game all depends on how Greeneville wants to play it. If they come out spreading the ball around and attacking the secondary it will be a long long night but if both teams run it down each others throat in the first half like I think will happen it will be a much closer game. I’d love to see DB continue to throw more. Can’t be mad at 24 pass attempts in game 1. Just don’t like some calls. Like a WR screen on the short side of the field like I seen last week smh. Give your playmakers room to make plays!!! TN high isnt a good game to base things off of. Greeneville stays talented and a very strong team bc of a great strength and conditioning program. side note: does anyone know how Nigel Vidale is doing? #20 Went down last week at the end of the game and it didn’t look too hot. Hope the best for him. He’s a heck of a jumper. State qualifier in High and Triple.
  6. Fair I actually wasn’t haha I graduated in 2017. The only offense I ever seen ran was triple option until my sophomore year we switched to a spread type of offense. My years 2015-17 we passed it a decent bit but still ran it down teams throats with a big OLine. You’re right though guys like Duran Ferguson were launching it. I wish I woulda got to see a lot of those guys play. I got the pleasure of watching Devaun Swafford and Malik Foreman play and that was special.
  7. The problem is DB hasn’t and never will air it out like that. That’s all they need. And they got it. So utilize it. That’s where I’m coming from. He can most likely throw it 50-60. That doesn’t make it accurate. I watched him throw 3passes 40 plus yards in the 2nd half. 1 barely missed. 1 dropped. 1 TD. So that’s what I commented on. Greeneville has definitely had some gun slingers recently so I understand that QBs can throw that far in high school. I’ve been around and played ball my whole life. You act like 40 yards is a flick of the wrist. It takes some strength. And it’s not those kids fault their middle school programs aren’t up to par. There is plenty of talent there still. So yes I stand by saying throwing around 40+ accurately is good bc it is. Not great but good. You said most really good QBs throw 60. Who said he was really good? It was his first high school start as a senior and he was in a 3 way QB battle all off-season. So when you have a first year QB you can be happy with 40+ accurately.
  8. DB was also the better team in 90% of those games except the win they had they were not the better team. That’s why said nobody knows what will happen.
  9. Before that it was 18 straight DB
  10. I know the baseball field makes it not the prettiest but now that they’ve filled in the endzones it does look much better.
  11. I agree people are underrating Farragut. That was a tough team. Week 1 is hard to judge teams by but Greeneville is the better football team right now. Better football team doesn’t always win though. You can only hope DB fans show out for this one. They will need home field advantage to pull this off. Watch DB keep it close by running clock early. Greeneville will do the exact same so about 14-14 halftime if that and then one of the teams will start letting it loose. I’m gonna say 35-24 Greeneville but I hope I’m wrong.
  12. Dump of a field? Hahahahaha. More like one of the best stadiums in all of Tennessee.
  13. Please show me a middle schooler in this area throwing 40 yard dimes. Please. Cause I’ve watched Crockett middle Robinson and sevier. It’s not there. Plus middle school uses a smaller ball. An accurate 40+ yard pass is good for high school. Plus everyone knows DB is a ground and pound team. So I was stating reasons as to why they should throw it downfield more often. Please actually respond thoughtfully and not just be a smarty pants lol.
