  1. Yeah, a 4 over 1 usually doesn’t work out, but surprises do happen.
  2. I don’t know much about Houston other than they’re 9-1 having only lost to the region champ. Would lead one to believe they’re pretty good, but as bad as some claim Hickman is, Houston only beat them by 7? Then again Waverly only beat Houston by 7. Sounds kinda Jekyl and Hydish, but maybe there were other factors that made those games so close. Eagleville’s 3 losses this year have been against teams who won it in the trenches. Our slightly undersized line has a lot of heart and desire, but sometimes its just not enough. What size can we expect from Houston?
  3. Waverly better be ready. You don’t beat LC, and give Eagleville and Forrest all they want and not be good. Big turn around for them from last year.
  4. So it’s Forrest-Hickman, Lewis-Riverside, Eagleville-Houston, Summertown-Waverly...correct?
  5. Wouldn't be surprised if that's exactly, or pretty close, to how it went down. Someone kept blowing the whistle, and they finally dug deep enough.
  6. One could argue that they have a better chance without our starting QB, but our receiver turned QB has done a pretty good job. He's just a heck of an athlete that can make things happen.
  7. So Eagleville is 3rd if they win, and 4th if they lose and Summertown also loses. Correct?
  8. Yeah, that’s about what I anticipate, Eagles by 10-20.
  9. At the end of this one, somebody is going to the playoffs and somebody is not.
  10. Here’s my view of what happened. They simply wore us down. When you play 5 linemen the whole game both ways they’re spent by the 4th quarter. 14 of Mt Pleasant’s 24 points came in the last 8 minutes. They ran it right down our throats towards the end. Should have been some subs here and there throughout the game. We have 6 linemen that never played. I get that you play your best players and they get the most minutes, and they should get the most minutes, but giving them a breather here and there goes a long way towards how well they can play late in the game. The coaches lost this one. The kids played their guts out.
  11. based on what you've said with players being hurt, it'll be a tall mountain for the Rockets to climb to get the W, not an impossible mountain to climb, but certainly a steeper one.
  12. I haven't heard we're not so I can only assume we are.
  13. Don't know anything about Mt. Pleasant. I was looking at their record and they lost to Cornersville and Huntland, 2 teams the Eagles beat, but then they also whipped up on Summertown 42-14, so not really sure what to expect.
  14. It’s one of those games that most, including myself, expect Eville to win, but Loretto is probably just good enough to be able to make it interesting, then if mistakes and penalties happen to become an issue for us that night, they could pull an upset. We need to have the mindset that they’re as good as anybody, not that it’ll be a cakewalk.
  15. We scored first possession, then the game settled in to a defensive slugfest til towards end of 3rd when our backup QB ran it in to go up 13-0. Botched snap on field goal so missed point after. They finally scored midway through 4th. We held on with a big defensive stop the last minute and got the W. Our starting QB was on sidelines and in a boot. Don’t know what the injury is.
