  1. My original prediction was 35 to 7 Germantown. Not sure now with the two injuries to CB and RB last week. Possible ACL tear (CB) and Concussion (RB)... New prediction...28 to 14 Germantown
  2. Central TD with 40 seconds remaining
  3. Hmmm.. They need to revisit the hold back rule as well. When you have 19 year olds playing against 15, 16, 17 year old kids guess whose gonna shine?? This is awful in the private schools. " this kid is a monster and he's ONLY a sophomore" geez Yeah, but how old is he???
  4. Germantown vs. Collierville W Gtown 42-2 AT Collierville. running clock 3rd quarter Central vs. Collierville W Central AT Central They were down 14- 0 in the first quarter. They pulled it off and could very well have been the turning point for them to have faced that adversity early in the game. Way to fight back..... ...rah rah rah... You can't always predict the outcome based on whose played who, but I think it gives us an idea of what to expect. Both teams have gotten better each week which isn't good for Central.
  5. Coach Wright is a good coach. He can't be on the field though. I don't think they have enough depth. We'll see.
  6. POSSIBLE running clock in the 4th quarter.... DEFINITELY 3 touchdown victory though.
  7. Germantown by 3 touchdowns at least......Running clock in the 4th.
  8. Oh that Logan Young.... The guy who mysteriously "Jumped" out of a window to his death.
  9. Thursday 1 Freedom Prep Friday 1. Cordova 2. Jackson Northside 3. Southwind 4. Houston 5. ECS 6. Germantown 7. Kirby 8. Raleigh Egypt 9. St Georges 10. Whitehaven
  10. Don't know Logan Young but if he's from around these parts he has to know.....
  11. Lol.... Don't know much but I know the gold balls come from East Tennessee for the most part. Can't hate on that. I do believe it's gonna get a little harder.
  12. Took a week off due to most teams having a bye week. 1A. Germantown- Coming off a revenge win over White Station a couple of Friday's ago; the Red Devils look to continue the streak against 1 loss Central. #4 in state CLASS 6A 1B. MUS- MUS had a huge win over Briarcrest last Friday. This was a game most figured would be a lot closer or at least competitive. NOT! MUS vs Douglas this Friday night. # 4 Division II-AAA 3. Lausanne- Beat Northpoint Christian 49-13. No real competition til 3rd round of playoffs maybe. #1 Division II-AA. 4. Christian Brothers- Molly whopped St. Benedict 42.7. Running clock early in the third. CBHS vs Wooddale Friday night. # 2 Division II-AAA 5. Whitehaven- Gave Memphis Central their first L of the season. This week they face a battle tested White Station team at home. # 7 in state class 6A 6. Houston - Beat Oakhaven 49-0 last game. Big region game with rival Collierville this Friday. Should be a W for Houston. # 10 in state class 6a 7. Covington- Four loss (3 at the time) South Gibson came in and tested the will of the Chargers in a 1 point loss. (27 to 28) I'm sure they'll see them again come playoff time. I Don't think Covington is looking forward to that. This week at Crockett County. # 2 in state class 3A. 8. Kirby- Beat neighborhood rival Southwind 39-14. This week home against Munford. # 9 in state Class 5A 9. Central- Lost to Whitehaven in a game most thought they would lose. This week vs Germantown at the G. 10. Cordova- Lost in a shootout to Pearl Cohn 62-52. The wolves didn't give up in this one. They have a big region game against Arlington this week.
  13. Ok.....Interesting thread.. Maryville and Alcoa are obviously pretty good. The dynamic has changed in the Memphis area when it comes to football however. This region has ALWAYS been about BASKETBALL. The pendulum is starting to swing towards football a lot more. Kids/parents are realizing they can get scholarships in football because there're more out there. I've witnessed kids training more for football during the offseason as well. Memphis has always had the athletes but I think the rise of the Tigers football program will be a contributing factor to the success of West Tennessee as a whole. Out east football is KING. I think Vols football has been the driving force behind that. Here in the WEST it's basketball..... hence the gold balls. I think kids tend to gravitate toward sports in their regions that are successful. Traditionally, it's been basketball in West Tennessee. Things are changing and it's about to get scary for the state. In my opinion.
  14. 1. Mitchell 2. Fayette Academy 3. MUS 4. Christian Brothers 5. Collierville
  15. Kirby sneaking in the mix.....A team to watch out for!
  16. Thursday 1.Hillcrest 2. MASE 3. Harding Academy Friday 4. Raleigh Egypt 5. Ridgeway 6. Kirby 7. ECS 8. Collierville 9. Germantown 10. Whitehaven 11. Clarksville Academy
  17. 1A. Germantown - Germantown went to Henry County and defeated the # 1 team in 5A 31-21. They have won 18 out of their last 19 games. The only loss, albeit a HUGE one, was to White Station in the playoffs. Germantown with good depth....nobody plays both ways. (KEY) . Gtown looking for revenge i'm sure. #4 Class 6A 1B. LAUSANNE- Beat ECS 42- 34 in good game. This game was a real test for the defending champs. ECS proving they are a better team than most expected. Lausanne has a Friday night match up with Northpoint Christian in Southaven, Ms. # 1 in Division II-AA 3. MUS- MUS defeated St. Benedict 35-0. Home against Briarcrest on Friday. This will be a battle. # 4 Division II-AAA 4. Christian Brothers- Went into Briarcrest and won a close one. Brothers looking like they're supposed to. Next game against St. Benedict. W!!! # 2 Division II-AAA 5. Covington- Defeated Martin Westview on Friday. No real tests remaining for Covington. This week vs. Ripley. # 2 Class 3a 6. Whitehaven- Beat Trezevant 35-0. This week will be interesting. Central is coming in with a perfect 7-0 record. Whitehaven will be ready for this one I'm sure. Most talent in the state!! Should be a W for them. # 9 Class 6a 7. Houston- Defeated Cordova in a game most thought they would lose. This Houston team is going to surprise some folks in the playoffs. Starting to get votes in state polls. (3) This week vs. Oakhaven. 8. Kirby- Beat Bolton 62-0 on Friday. They will have a backyard brawl with Southwind this week. Kirby should come up with the victory. # 10 Class 5A 9. Central- Won against Collierville Friday night 37-20. This week vs Whitehaven at home. Big test for Central.... chance for them to shut the nay sayers up. # 10 Class 6A 10. Briarcrest- Lost to CBHS Friday night. The other loss is to undefeated Madison Ridgeland Academy in Ridgeland, Ms. They have a tough one against MUS this week.
  18. They're having a terrific season too. I can see MUS/ CBHS , GERMANTOWN/WHITEHAVEN, LAUSANNE and Covington making it to Cookeville this year. Still think folks need to keep an eye on HOUSTON. SLEEPER!
  19. Geez... you're right. lol I think they were only down by a touchdown or something like that coming out of halftime. Things turned pretty quick. Would love to see it as well.
