  1. The weather will play a huge factor into the game imho. The rain that’s suppose to come will play into Central's favor with their big running backs. It is good to see the Jackets back at full strength tonight. I believe on a dry field the jackets are a 2 TD favorite, tonight I’d be happy with a 1 point win with both sides staying healthy. As always go Jackets.
  2. Looks like eers was right.....this looks like a blow out in Portland’s favor......
  3. You called it. I still think Marshall Co is a couple ticks better anyway. I think we’re kinda like you guys were last year, almost in a rebuilding mode. Can be competitive at times but just need to put it all together. Like I said earlier in the week, our defense didn’t look very good tonight, lots and lots of missed tackles, and the score reflected that. But hey, I call a spade a spade and we just got whipped all around tonight. Good luck the rest of the way to the Tigers.
  4. Marshall Co is on the east side of the bracket.
  5. Hats off to Marshall Co. Y’all have a good football team
  6. Idk but if the status quo for the Jackets holds true, any starter who is banged up won’t play or will be very limited in non-region games. I just hope both sides stay healthy for the region games ahead.
  7. Passing game as been sporadic, they can throw it deep and the slants work well. The problem in my opinion is they try to run a 2 QB system. One of the QB’s is a duel threat and the other is strictly passing, so it’s kinda predictable on what’s going to happen. We’ll see how the game plan works out tonight, maybe they’ll find some sort of a rhythm. Safe travels to all the Tiger Faithful tonight
  8. I agree on all parts here, mainly both teams come out healthy for the rest of region play. I think the Jackets will do ok against the run game of Marshall Co. my biggest question is how they’ll do against the pass. The Jackets defense has been hit or miss at times this year. If they miss tonight, it’s going to be a long night for the black and gold.....my take it’s a pick’em could go either way. It’s going to be the toughest game of the regular season for Springfield in my opinion.
  9. Dang man that’s a brutal schedule. Hope you can make it, and safe travels.
  10. Lead, sounds good! Hope everything goes right and you can make the trip up Friday, be glad to meet you.
  11. Glad to see y’all travel well. Get to the field early, parking isn’t ideal, you have to park in front of the school and walk around back to the field. The earlier you get there the better spot you’ll get, it usually fills up pretty fast out front. If you park in the second entrance of the school it’s a better way to access the visitors side, it’ll be the side where the vocational school is. It’s the side closest to I-65
  12. Good to see y’all are getting some young stability at the position after the Wallace debacle last year. We’re young on the offensive side of the ball, but are coming around and looking better each week also. We’ve had a few starters banged up the last few weeks and it’s allowed for some underclassmen to get some value reps. Hoping everyone will be back full strength this week.
  13. I understand your point of view. I’ll put it like this, and no disrespect to White House. Watertown has a very good shot at making the 2A championship game and White House will be fighting to just make the play-offs. I just think the gap between the two teams is too much in favor of Watertown this year. But hey anything can happen and good luck to White House.
  14. Honestly.....yes. Not being trivial either, they’re a very good football team for any classification.
  15. You guys still got the same QB as last year?
  16. The best it’s been in 10 years or more. Field goal unit is solid, can hit from 45 and in. Kick-offs can go deep but sometimes don’t. I’ve never understood why they don’t go deep when they can, to me it kills you in the field position game. Punting is decent enough I guess when the snap is good. How’s MC’s special teams units?
  17. This game to me is a pick-em. It’s got two of the most consistent and toughest 4A programs in the mid-state over the past few years battling it out. Both teams are solid and well coached, should be a good game. I’m really glad this game is happening, it can only benefit both teams in the long run.
  18. I second the Dept on Main Street, it’s the best in town for a variety of food. Everything is good there too, get there at 5 if you want to make the 7 kick-off for the game tho. The place fills up fast.
  19. This is the toughest region top to bottom on the west side of the bracket this year. Region 6 is down except for Hardin county. Lexington is ok, but after them it drops waaaaay off. Region 7 has Haywood, who is probably the team to beat to get out of the west this year, and Dyersburg who is good. They too drop off after the top two. Region 8 is, well......region 8, not very good at all, with Fayette Ware being the exception in that region. Any of the teams in region 5-4A would be a playoff team in any of the other regions on the west side this year.
  20. Imho one of, if not the, toughest game of the regular season. Not knocking any of the top teams in our region, but Marshall county is always a beast of a team year and year out.
  21. I like getting the win, but I hate sloppy play. The next 6 weeks is going to be the meat grinder of the regular season. Got to get more crisp on both sides of the ball, they only get tougher from here on out.
  22. I know you didn’t say they weren’t fast. My point is simple, you’re wrong. Just because they don’t have Fat Cat doesn’t mean they don’t have playmarkers the can carry it the house from anywhere on the field. Watch and you shall see........
  23. keep thinking that! If your team does, they’ll get their doors blowed off worse than they did last year....... I don’t really buy into the whole,”you only beat this team by x amount of points and we beat them by this amount of points, so we should do this against you”. You play who you play. But to think Springfield doesn’t have speedy play makers, is ridiculous. They ARE the fastest team WH will play the rest of the season, I can promise you that.
