  1. Good Prediction presuming that the 1 was a typo...
  2. Just to let you know- CAK Beat Science Hill 2-1 tonite and "sources" say that Tarr scored both of the goals. Two goals doesn't seem to overrated. I hope to meet Tarr sometime
  3. Hmmmm. For a freshman with as many goals and assists I would say that that seems like an interesting statement. In what way would you say he is overrated?
  4. I would have to say saving a goal because if ball that I just touched went into the goal that would be a bad thing.
  5. or laps or staights of death or whatever sprintsfromhell.com can come up with
  6. Are you guys basing your comments about great keeper's purely on the game's score? There is a lot more to Goal Keeping than can be shown on a scoreboard. A good defense could make a GK look good if all your going by is the score. You also have to consider how well the keeper controls his defense and how well he is respected by his team. A keeper who is very skillful but shows no class doesn’t rank very high in my book. Just some observations.
  7. Thats crazy! Surely it was (as someone else suggested) a defect in the ball because they're pretty tough.
  8. I believe this is a forum, not a boasting board. But so we have something to discuss: Where are the located and what division are they in? By the way it should look like this- LOOK OUT FOR FORREST THIS YEAR!!!!!
  9. Some refs are good, some are bad, but they all have poor games at some point. I think one thing that sometimes gets them into trouble is they let a few things slid then they kind of lose control of the game (They just there to be the final word- the coach should keep his players in line) and in an attempt to recover their authority they make calls that are iffy. I guess that makes sense. But one thing is for sure- Refs deserve a lot of credit. Most all the time at any given call one team or the other will be upset about it unless it’s a really blatant foul. They are human.

    Scores

Wow. Talk about changing your defensive tactics.
  11. I don't know about High School sports in Tennessee, but it seems that soccer in general is growing in popularity across the United States. When your parents were your age the majority of schools didn't have soccer teams and the only way they could be on a team would be to join a recreational league if there is even one in there area. To sum up my opinion: Soccer is gaining in interest in the large scale. (But perhaps not in certain areas and possibly just for younger age groups when anyone can play, not just the people that are good...)
  12. It will be interesting to see if they can pull it off without last year seniors.
  13. I get frustraited watching either sport. I would rather be playing than watching- but thats not always an option.
  14. The exact same thing can be said about soccer... Thats why these games are called team sports.
  15. Oh man- don't get me started. Ok well for now lets just agree to disagree. But I do like your comment that any sport is better than idle hands (as the saying goes- they are the devils workshop…)
  16. That’s a pretty gross stereotype, but on some levels I can see your point. I think you would agree that some of the football jocks are very popular at school (a.k.a. good looking) and some others aren’t so blessed but that seems to be in most all sports.
  17. Like I said, I have played both soccer and football both for school and “club”, and I was surprised that you thought football team’s were closer. Our 18 man +/- soccer team is much closer that our seemingly 30 person football team. As a soccer team we share a brotherly love but it seemed sometimes all the football team shared was grunts. This could be reversed for your club or school though. I was being a bit facetious about the grunts, but you get my point.
  18. I was talking to a bunch of guys the other day and soccer came up in the conversation. They all started laughing at us "foot-fairies". I was wondering what reasons you would give if asked why you like soccer. Personally one reason I like it is because the way the game flows so smoothly and every move isn't a set play like football. (I used to play football but I decided I liked soccer more, so don't accuse me of being one sided- to each his own)
  19. What school has the smallest track and field team? The Biggest? What is, in your opinion, the average number?

    Injuries

What injury did the assistant coach get and how? Was it on the field during a practace or unrelated to soccer?
  21. I would also like to know where tonymontana goes to school.
  22. For soccer- CAK and Bearden seem to come up alot
  23. I don't mean to pick a fight, even though iamronburgundy? said it rather bluntly, this is a soccer message board not a place to note how hot particular people are. And might I note soccerguy20 you haven't even been a "member" for more than two weeks like you said "don't start talking trash" at least tonymontana has been a member for several months and has 1,200+ posts. Just an observation, I'm not trying to get people hot under the collar.
