  1. Looks like a good assessment with the exception of 145. Lundy dominated Fields at an event in Johnson City a few weeks ago. The score didn't reflect the beat down he put on Fields. To Hamm's defense, Lundy didn't wrestle last season and he might of not known that Lundy vs. Fields went down. Lundy is hungry for the state title. He's worked his tale off this summer. Gonna have to put my money on Lundy.
  2. I have no problem with Baylor "plucking" the good wrestlers to their program. Their program is smart getting these two young athletes on their team and the wrestlers will greatly benefit for the move. I suspect these two kids are aspiring to wrestle in college. Baylor has an amazing networking pipeline. It's a win-win for team and wrestlers. CBG is correct in saying kids need athletics more than athletics need kids. It appears kids have become less interested in participating in sports in general. So the ones who do have a passion for a sport and want to excel should be able to make at least one transfer penalty free especially if better instruction, opportunities or college possibilities are being offered. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure it was a blow to Beech. It's unfortunate. It was unfortunate for Lundy and Wysong last year. They transferred to Cleveland and both sat out their junior years. Although Lundy has signed with UTC and appears to be doing well and Wysong transferred to McCallie for his senior year, think about how much mat time they lost not wrestling with the #1 team in the state last year. Collectively, TN is behind in the sport of wrestling. A lot needs to be done for our athletes to become competitive on a national level. So until we make great strides to do so, we should support those kids who are trying to better their wrestling resumes.
  3. Good stuff. Looks like they will have another great year. Looking forward to
  4. I know it's a hike from Memphis....but where are Harrison's boys? Is Reiniche still out with injury? Disappointed not to see Jones and Quin make the trip. Looks like Region 1 is representing. Good luck to all of the TN wrestlers.
  5. Not a clue, CBG. As stated, I don’t know either kid much less their records and tournaments they have wrestled. I suspect this is where you want to clout me with Mason’s record. No need for that. Anyone who knows anything about TN wrestling knows Reiniche is great. No one is negating that fact.
  6. The talent depth Mason brings to the mat can not be disputed. Zero problems with your assessment. Don't know either kid personally. I mainly wanted those who read the paper tiger champion comment to know there are some of us who voted for Diehl because he displays impressive talent and believes that he could challenge Mason. I was fully aware when I voted that Diehl was the underdog. But I was also fully aware that people shouldn't sleep on this kid. He is solid and hasn't even come close to reaching his glass ceiling. However it appears Reiniche is now ahead of Deihl so all mutiny in the TN wrestling world can be restored.
  7. That might be the case. Or it could be there are people out there just pulling for him. Was talking to one of the parents at the PF tournament. They said Diehl was the hardest working kid in the room. Straight A student. Exceptional kid on and off the mat. Doesn’t sound like he’s the type to be a paper tiger champion to me.
  8. Me and my two boys voted for Diehl. We have seen him wrestle several times this season and he’s one solid wrestler. I’ve seen Reiniche wrestle twice. He’s also very talented-there’s a lot of well deserved hype that follows him. But in my opinion, if anyone could take down Reiniche, Diehl would be the one to do it. Not voting against Renieche just pulling for Diehl.
