Waverly has consistently got better throughout the season. These younger kids are starting to figure it all out, all at the right time. Y’all go ahead and jump on that Loretto 8-0 band wagon. Waverly is a long road trip for Loretto. Loretto has everything to lose. Waverly has everything to gain. Waverly has experience in big games. Waverly will be ready for this game and will win. But I do believe it will be a battle.

Waverly has a chance to win out. Loretto and Lewis have to travel to Waverly. This is what it would look like if they did win out. Waverly finishes 9-1 with a loss to MTP Loretto finishes 9-1 (if they beat MTP which they should) with a loss to Waverly Lewis finishes 8-2 with losses to Loretto/Waverly Mt Pleasant finishes 8-2 with losses to Lewis/Loretto

Probably because you’re sick of watching Waverly destroy Camden every year. Yea Camdens offense is good for 1 more year because the QB and RB are the offense and they are JRs but you can’t win if you don’t have a defense. How many points has Camden allowed this year? Bet that’s a new record for Camden high school too. Most points allowed in school history. They should advertise that stat LOL

Camden has only made it to the 2nd Round 6x in 15 years. They only made it to the 3rd Round twice. 2009,2010. Both losses.

Since 2008 Camden has won their Region/District 5x 2008 2010 2011 2014 2015 Has not won it in 8 years.

This is probably one of the best threads I’ve seen in awhile. Looks like Region 6 is all but settled if everything goes like I think it will and as posters have predicted. As far as Waverly goes and Region 5, it’s a toss up. Waverly has a potent offense for sure. Defense has been flat out terrible the first 3 games. Coach made some Defensive adjustments and the defense is playing pretty solid these last 3 games. Offensively Waverly was not up to par for the last few games due to some key injuries. All is well now. If this young defense can continue to grow each week and the offense can stay healthy, Waverly has a chance to win out with the biggest 2 games remaining being Loretto and Lewis, both being played at Waverly. Waverly could be a 1 seed still or will be a 4 seed. Time will tell. Lots of football left to be played. I have no doubts that coach will have them ready each week.

This game will be a high scoring game. MP definitely has some athletic kids. Definitely will give Waverlys defense problems. With that being said I feel like MP doesnt do some basic things well. I feel like Waverlys offense will dominate the LOS and will score at will either in the air or on the ground. However, defensively for Waverly these young players gotta step up, set the edge, get off blocks and tackle better. If they don’t, MP will score a lot also. This will be Waverlys biggest challenge thus far and a game I picked would be a battle when the schedule/region came out. However.. I think Waverlys line dominates and their offense will be too much for MP. I think Waverlys defense does just enough to get it done. Waverly 54 MP 35

These polls are garbage. It’s way too early in the season and these writers don’t have a clue. Someone needs to do research on “top 10 polls” and see how teams actually finish compared to the polls they put out. Never adds up. A lot goes into it, like last years records and how many starters were lost, or key players who transferred out or in. We as coacht(ers) know more about who top 10 teams are in the state or who will be each week, more than these writers do.

Waverly’s offense is dangerous and will score a lot. Their defense and special teams have got to step up. Lots of room to grow this season but they better do it in a hurry. Some decent teams in this Region this year. And Region 6 is loaded come playoffs.

No comparison to Lewis Co. Lewis is the regular season champs then loses in first round. Waverly doesn’t do that. Might this year matching up with Region 6

How many starters do they return on both sides of the ball? What key starter positions did they lose? Waverly will be solid. They return their O Line and D Line minus one. QB returns. Best “all around athlete” returns. Key losses are their running back and LBs. I expect it to come down to Waverly Mt Pleasant and Lewis. I hate the Waverly Mt Pleasant game is week 3 but it is what it is.

Waverly lost a good OL coach. More importantly they lost a great person who everyone loved. But Waverly Football will be just fine without him. Looking at Camden, they clearly need all the help they can get. So best of luck to him over there. He will be a great addition. Waverly is looking forward to giving him/them their first of many L’s in 2023. In the first round of the playoffs he can come back over and watch Waverly play since he won’t be busy. As far as the rumor, there won’t be any more following suit, the rest of this coaching staff bleeds blue. Waverly has a solid core returning, some younger guys ready to step up, and some talented freshmen incoming. Waverly will continue to be a force.
