They need to let Lawson get involved and not some search committee. He knows a lot of people in the area and after all - the person they hire will be working in an athletic department that is run by him. Seems simple and logical don't you think ??? I am sure he would make a great hiring decision.

I have heard there are some very interesting candidates - some from out of state, some who have coached in D2 before, some from established programs. When you have had only 2 coaches in the past 38 years it does make it an important and scrutinized hire to say the least. I have also been told that they have hardly even interviewed anyone yet (if they have started at all). Any names, stbulldog ?

Who are the names being mentioned to fill David Pack's job ? Are they going outside to hire someone or does Bowers have someone already ?

Callinyouout: I take it you are from Memphis. I ran into a big MBA booster and he gave me five names (these are NOT people who have applied so they may not have any interest at all) 1. Hubie Smith -Bartlett (might want to get into private) 2. Doug Bontrager -Ryan (MBA would be lucky to get him but it would be a longshot-he applied once and almost got it 3. Chip Fredrick - an MBA alum and former HH coach 4. a BA assistant (either Pierce or Husband not sure which one). Apparently they are both good 5. Casey Alexander - BA graduate and current Belmont assistant. Might want to stay in college though

Ryan did not "always lose to HH" in the mid 80's and early 90's. That is not valid. They were not even in the same classification. Ryan was AAA/HH was AA. It was the other way around if and when they even played. The series has only changed recently when the teams have split home and home and home and Ryan winning on the neutral site in the tournament.
