I agree with @lakecounty1968 they need to go outside because we’ve seen two in house coaches not be successful with getting the real athletes in that school which is the basketball kids. When Coach Bland finally got the guy that was there before to let them play football too they were a special team with speed all around. the downfall of that program though, was there booster club forcing Bland out. Humboldt used to be in talks for state just about ever year with Milan, and now they are debating if they can beat Gleason. Sad to really see over that way, we are gonna get them back as a region opponent next season, but the old time instant classic games we used to have is in the back seat now.

We all don’t feel that way about Meigs, probably a pot stirrer

I was too with SP. I just don’t see any team from our side that could’ve matched well with them. Good RB’s and Wr’s to go along with a big TE. They have size as well, was very impressed and think they will have no problem. Meigs QB and RB make them going pretty well with some good sized lineman. They play hard and with intensity

Dude was a hoss no question about it. Easily one of the best hs RB’s I’ve seen. Wished you guys had Goldsmith to run him down, would’ve been two titans clashing

They had players but not enough to keep up with schools from this way that have more speed. I was surprised Trezevant beat them 2 years in a row. They had 1 player that was their RB that went to Clemson and the rest of the team was just a ok team with no kicker. If we had lost to TC or Meigs at state I’d tip my cap. But Marion County with how their posters acted that week it wouldn’t have been okay

They were slow. I was wondering on the way up there if what all this mess they talked about was true or not and when I seen them warming up I knew it was gonna be a blowout. That was the year after we beat them. They lost 2 more states to Memphis Trezevant. All week they said we were soft and couldn’t handle that Zeman kid and boom we won 34-7 and none of them commented on here after

I wish I could go back and read that thread. Marion County posters basically had us being a Pee Wee football team, and calling our players thugs and stuff. One of the most classes thread I’ve seen on here

I wished we could lol. All these teams would be a juggernaut, also Humboldt and Gibson County would not have a football program

My opinion is different, Stopping Meadows will be a key factor for us to win. Giving different fronts and different defensive alignments to get back there to stop will be huge. We have some big guys on the D line but I don’t think we can just bull rush Meigs line because it’s pretty solid. We have to play our best for every quarter. Can’t be like last year and show up in the second half

Those were great teams. In the era of the spread and passing. Alcoa is one of the true teams that come to my mind they try and break your will. I’ve seen a lot of their state games over the years. The last time Milan and Huntingdon in 04 were the only teams I can remember from this area to not let the break their will. In 04 Huntingdon played out of their minds and did stuff I don’t think Alcoa was expecting. I believe they had over 250 passing which in Huntingdon is very rare

I look at it this way with Alcoa, you might win a fight but won’t win the war against them. Just ask CPA and all the other schools that beat them a time or 2

No I wasn’t saying you said that lol, not the physicality part I’m just saying some of the stuff I’ve read ( not from you) is kinda like that. I was worried about the McKenzie game, but I’m worried about this one a little more. These guys are big and can move, but respect all and fear none. Every state game is always the game I can’t put my finger on until about a day or 2 before the game

No doubt Meigs is a good football team. But some of this banter reminds me of 2014 thread with Marion County saying we couldn’t handle the physicality from them
