  1. This is CCHS best chance of any to get in the win column, but it isn’t going to happen. Stone wins by 20+.
  2. Same guy thought they were beating LA
  3. I’ll take the Owls in a close one. Wouldn’t surprise me if this one went either way, but Smith County is playing better ball at the moment.
  4. Keep calling me an idiot, only one of us keeps looking like one. Bottom line, I told you LA would roll. You thought you knew more than you did, and got exposed AGAIN.
  5. 24 hours ago I’m an idiot who doesn’t know football. Now LA wins by 31 and he blames home cooking. Hilarious.
  6. Also... *you’re and *doesn’t... since we are educating.
  7. Look, this game absolutely should be a blowout. LA is better at every position on the field, and I’m not exaggerating.
  8. I cannot believe people actually believe DC can win this game. No chance.
  9. Monterey is really good. They’ve played a weak schedule, but you can only play who you line up against. Once again, they are really good. They roll on Friday.
  10. Upperman by as many as they want.
  11. Listen to me, there is a 0% chance this game is close. LA rolls EASILY. 30+ win. Book it.
  12. State championship. They don’t get noticed because they are in the Upper Cumberland, but they are as loaded as anyone.
  13. LA can win a championship in 4A. They are that good.
  14. I wasn’t there, but from what I’m hearing it was a great game. Good for the Bees to get tested. This is a stereotypical win for UHS against good teams. Play real good defense then capitalize on mistakes to put it away. Good luck to Oneida this year!
  15. I haven’t given a score prediction on this one yet, but I’m going to go Upperman 28-10.
  16. Don’t come at me Oneida fans, but the more I read up about this game the more I think Upperman may roll to a win.
  17. Cookeville is better than their record, but Upperman is clearly better.
  18. It’ll be the toughest test Monterey hasn’t faced so far, but that’s not saying much when you look at their schedule. I’ll take the Wildcats by at least 20. Just too much firepower
  19. For reference, the UHS QB accounted for over 200 yards against Alcoa.
  20. Good assessment. Only thing that’s a tad off is the fast WR he mentioned has actually mostly transitioned into being a RB but they will use him all over the field. The QB definitely relies on his legs more than his arm, but a huge reason for that is he only has 1 reliable WR. He can throw it but the receivers can’t always catch it, etc. Certainly seems like a good matchup.
  21. This is really interesting to me as a Putnam county area observer. Upperman’s defense is really good, and conventional wisdom says it’s hard to run against them. But Livingston has a high powered passing game and only scored 10. I think the bottom line when going against UHS is you have to keep their offense out of the end zone and capitalize on the brief chances you have to score to beat them. You have to be locked in for the entire 4 quarters. How is Oneida’s run defense? It’ll need to be strong.
  22. Agree to disagree. Upperman’s defense has been dominant all season, including holding a very good LA team to 10, which is by far their lowest scoring output. Front-7 is elite. You’re certainly entitled to your opinion, I just disagree.
  23. Don’t know anything about Oneida, what kind of team are they? Upperman’s defense is probably the 2nd best 3A defense in the state, they are very good. QB is a senior who can throw and run. He’s the best athlete on most fields he steps onto. They have a couple of good backs, one is a power back and the other is a shifty quick back. They have a good receiver who is emerging and a couple of solid complementary pieces. If Oneida can’t pass or if they can’t stop the run they won’t have a chance. Only way to beat Upperman is to play 4 quarters of great ball.
