All I am saying is that I was not impressed. You can ask our fans and they will tell you that they weren't impressed either. She missed a lot of shots and took a lot of shots as well. When she was faceguarded by our best defensive player we shut her down, but Gill got in foul trouble. We had to put another player on her that couldn't keep up with her. That's how she got her 27.

We were expected to be good this year but a lack of conditioning during the season and off season and not working on fundamentals in practice killed our chances. We are thinking about next year lmao because we think that we can go further than this year. Huntingdon will be better next year so watch out.

It was a very hard 27 points to come by. Most of those points came in the fourth quarter when we got tired and the person that was guarding her had to play with 4 fouls. If she is a miss basketball finalist as a FRESHMEN that she must be an amazing talent. But she is not a Chloe Moore, Tess Darby, Eddie Darby, or a Macey Lee. Weathers has a great potential but she lots of room to grow her game.

Huntingdon should have won that game. A coaching mistake ended the year for them. I knew McKenzie wasn't going to win and I expected them to lose by 30 to 40 because we have been so up and down this year. Me and croppy have talked on these boards all season about how down District 11 was. So coming, into these games I expected Summertown to beat the Fillies by 10 to 20 and Loretto to beat us by 30 to 40. But both the Fillies and the lady rebels played well. Weathers could have had 40 points if she wanted to and if she would have made some more of her shots then she would have had that. We forced her into a lot of contested shots and mistakes that a typical freshmen would make. Before this season McKenzie had never won a regional game since 2003 and the way our girls showed up and showed out during the region is something to proud of. I don't think that Loretto and Summertown can beat Greenfield or GC. I was not impressed by them. Now maybe next year they can but we have to finish out this year first.

I got Summertown as my pick. I don't think Loretto is playing good ball right now and if they have a couple of players hurt that's advantage Summertown.

I was not impressed by either of those teams. They are young though so we will have to watch out for the next couple of years.

Well nothing wrong with South Gibson because they beat South Side tonight.

McKenzie played very well tonight. Summertown lived and died by the three. A great effort by Huntingdon. They cut a 10 point lead with 4 minutes left into a 2 point game with chances to win late. This sets up an interesting match up with Loretto on Thursday.

I know West Carroll loses the twins so they will be down next year and Clarksburg loses one or two so they will be about the same. Huntingdon returns their star players except their point guard in Alli Jones. I think they are a legitimate state contender next year. McKenzie loses their best defensive player and returns 4 starters. They also will gain 5 great eighth graders that should challenge the starters for some minutes. It should be an interesting region next year.

All of that is true. I have only seen these two play 4 games so I am just stating on what I see when they play. Yall might have to switch up defenses in order to keep the Golden Tide on their toes.

This is coin toss IMO. I will take Humboldt if they stay out of foul trouble. If Peabody attacks the basket and not settle for jumpers, then they have a good chance to win.

What has happened to the Jackson Sun? We don't post scores until the day after the game and they just started covering teams and players when tournaments started. I feel like they should do more to promote high school sports in our area.

Thank you. We very fortunate that we have kids that play AAU and travel ball. I wish we played like that all season long. We had a great start to the season and lack of conditioning killed us after Christmas break. Hope our coach runs the girls more this summer and that they work on fundamentals in practice. We haven't made this far in the postseason since 2003 so I am very proud of our girls. We have a great group of eighth graders coming up so will be better next year. We only lose one senior as well. Not saying that we are a state contender next year but for sure a region contender.

When the game is tied and you have a timeout left, don't you think you should call a timeout? 18 seconds is on the clock and you have a chance to win but instead of settling down and running a play the coach chooses to keep up tempo. Huntingdon turned it over and Summertown came down and shot game winning free throws.

She burst open in the second half because we got tired. Loretto needs another scoring option because when she is faceguarded yall are in trouble. Having one scoring option may work in our region but it does not work in the glass house. I thought we did a fantastic job on her and it was a great game plan putting our best defender on her. Our fan base has said that we are out of shape and it showed late in the game, when we couldn't even get back on defense in fast break situations. We did shut down Weathers for 3 quarters and limited her touches. Weathers may or may not have had 27 points but they were a very hard 27 points to get. She has great potential but she must improve other parts of her game. I know that she is a freshmen and still has 3 more years of ball. I thought that we played hard throughout the game and didn't give up especially after Loretto made a run in the second quarter. That was our best game of the season and our girls are very proud on how they played tonight. We will meet again next year for round two. We only lose senior and gain 5 fine eighth graders who went undefeated in the regular season and two postseason tournaments. Summertown got lucky tonight against the Fillies so another battle is set for Wednesday. Good luck on the rest of the season.

They had a chance to. Huntingdon's coach got out coached at the end and some lazy cross court passes cost them the game.

Nah the girls semis tonight were: Summertown 55 Huntingdon 54 and Loretto 58 McKenzie 47. Loretto vs Summertown on Wednesday for the region 6A title

our district 11 A has Huntingdon McKenzie Clarksburg West Carroll Bruceton Big Sandy. We match up with District 12 in region play who has Loretto Summertown Perry County Collinwood Wayne County.

That post was great! I think South side is definitely a favorite to make some noise in Murfreesboro. Been following yall since the season started. Refereeing has been great in region 6A where is which we play. Maybe it will be consistent for you guys tomorrow.

I agree! Westview has athletes and good shooters so if they knock down the three yall might be in trouble. Southside has better athletes and are quicker at every position. The big girl may have to get some oxygen during timeouts because y'all will run her to death. Westview will make it a half court game so it will be interesting.

Good games for the girls tonight!! Maybe the guys will be the same. It will be interesting to see how Huntingdon plays against the favorites in Loretto. I think Summertown and McKenzie will be a great game as well.
