  1. Ha Ha! Go back to ‘80 and ‘81 and they were in weak regions then too and getting put out in the (actual) second round as well!!! I can’t make this stuff up! This is not just the past several years, this weak schedule and weak regional play has always been goin on!! Ha Ha Not only this but in single A too with, of all schools, Richland and Collinwood and other weak single A schools! This is just too funny!
  2. I am so glad you brought these points up. I am a statistics guy so I am trained in understanding and (correctly) interpreting numbers. First, you skew the “semis” point as in the old three A classification the first round was basically (skipped) so, that means they have only made it past the third round only once and that was in ‘13. As for the point of playoff percentage, let’s look at that. Lewis County is always in what can be termed the very weakest region in the entire state regardless. The only exception is if there was no way the two buddies could do like they did in ‘13 and pull them out of a competitive region and place them into a non competitive one. Couple the weak region with extremely weak out of region schedule and you have inflated W/L ratios. But, lets get back on your point, the one you are trying to skew. Typically, just as with this year, Hohenwald has only one competitive region game. This year it is Riverside. I think last year or past couple of years it has been Chapel Hill. We know the region championship basically comes down to one game each year. So, we know there is a 50/50 shot (at least) Hohenwald is going to win the region each year. Because of this, we know the first round playoff game is going to be against an extremely weak team. That does enhance the odds of winning. To further prove my point, many of these teams enter the playoffs with losing records. Even when Hohenwald plays the third seeded teams, they are still typically bad teams. Therefore, your “Lewis Co. is 30-36 all time in the playoffs. That means they win about 45% of the time” comment is a misnomer because you are attempting to skew the numbers to prove a point. Other than CPA, who played in the state championship in ‘13, how many teams has Lewis County lost to in the playoffs that went on to the state. Valid point about Page but, yet again, skewed data. If we were constantly placed in weak regions, we would consistently win our region and thus play terrible teams in the first round just like Lewis County. Therefore, our playoff percentage would be higher as well.
  3. Will this be a unique playoff year where Lewis County gets beat in the early rounds by an awesome team who just happens to get beat by a team who happens to get beat by a team who just so happens to get beat by a team in the state championship? I mean, if so, if that was the case, that would make the early round exit okay would it not?
  4. Hey little buddy!! Thanks for the shoutout!! However, I want to make sure that you are corrected on a couple of things, here. I have given props to LC. I've even commented a couple of times that they beat a Butch Toner Loretto team a time or two. Now, that was almost 30 years ago but it did occur. I'll give you the intelligent comment though. Kinda tough when you are dealing with fans like yourself. I'm not slandering and technically not insulting either. Long before I began calling Lewis County out for weak and soft schedules and early round playoff exits, others had been doing it a decade earlier. I didn't know that till I began searching for material from Coacht to back up my points. If you, or these other posters and viewers will look at my quoted posts in these Hohenwald threads, they will see that as well. I'm pretty sure the gig in/for Hohenwald is up. Not everyone is ignorant. I am not a bettor but if I was, I would be willing to bet that Hohenwald being 4-1 on the year and not being ranked is due to some eyes being opened. I mean, for the past decade or so, even with one loss, Hohenwald would be ranked right now. As I mentioned in the other thread, after the thumping of (one winning season in the last decade) Loretto, will that 5-1 record push Hohenwald back into the rankings?
  5. Not intentionally hijacking your post but rather to utilize it. One can look at Lewis County’s schedule before the season even begins and pretty much tell if it’s going to be a 10-0 or maybe 9-1 season and sometimes an 8-2. That’s just how it is.
  6. Question; for next week, Lewis County will be 5-1. This is consistently their average record this time of year and they are consistently ranked for 2A. Will they be ranked next week with their 5-1 record?
  7. Honestly, I was very much looking forward to this game! Even though there is a classification difference, it seems Giles always brings it and that they are having a good year as well. I felt that this would have been a true test, for both teams!
  8. Everything does when your head is in the sand!
  9. Loretto last had a winning season nine years ago. Before then, it was 10 years since they had a winning record and that record was only 6-5. Big time game coming up Friday night! Marquee match up.
  10. Does anyone realize that excluding Fayetteville and Riverside, ALL other opponents of Lewis County have a combined record of 12-22? Together, they only have twelve wins and twenty two losses and we are only half way through the season. I know that will change after Lewis County goes to a 5-1 record after Friday night but, does a combined record of 12-22 against opponents make your team good? I haven't done this and don't care too, but has anyone ever done the W/L ratio of Lewis County teams of the past? I would be interested in the results. However, I am sure there will be teams sporadically in there such as Fayetteville and Riverside that will skew the results. Another easy W coming served up with more padded stats Friday night. I bet with a 5-1 record after Friday that L.C. cracks back into the top 10. What say ye?
  11. The G.C. basketball coach informed on the football coach? To the T$$AA?
  12. I think it is a choice between that or a monetary buyout/settlement.
  13. As I understand it, if there is not another team to replace by 3:00 tomorrow, it will be an open date for us.
  14. Another easy W for Lewis County. Should pad some more stats.
  15. When does basketball season begin down there?
  16. What region will Hohenwalds region begin the playoffs against?
  17. You think that’s an accomplishment? Really? Against a team Richland blew out last week?.?.? Do you think Richland and everyone else who plays them have big stats? What were the stats against Fayetteville? This is exactly what’s wrong with you Hohenwald people. It’s the same thing week after week; season after season. Bumping chest like there is a major accomplishment all the while belittling others.
  18. Are they going to make it to the second round this year? Will this be the year they advance past the second? As usual, their region championship will come down to one game against a medium to decent team. This year it will be at the end of the season against Riverside. In past years it seems Chapel Hill was it. I don’t know enough about Riverside and those West Tennessee teams. I do know Hohenwald always gets put out early, just in time for basketball season. What say ye; will they be put out by the end of the second round of the playoffs or not? Place your predictions here. Yes No
  19. I am very much looking forward to this game. As far as classifications matter, Giles seems to have the talent to play up a division, maybe two. Didn’t their state championship come in 4A?
