Who are the outsiders? Serious question, not chirping, i have been covering this team the last 10 years or so and i have not seen this group of outsiders that i hear about alot in Winchester, i am genuinely curious!

I don't want to derail the thread here but why do you think Franklin Co is still struggling? Do you think with the new coach that things will improve quickly? Seems in today's day and age the leash tends to get short quickly.

I can't remember all of the deals/details but, seems that maybe the administration was ear bended by people in the community over there. But, that was all hearsay. People over there in Winchester may be able to chime in.

You are talking about the McCurry that was at FC for 4 years and never had a winning season or made the playoffs?

Funny but, yeah. He had success everywhere he went. Now, may have had some extra luggage too but he was a good coach.

  3. Looking more like the Riverside/Loretto winner next Friday will be facing Huntington. Who do you guys have pulling the W between Loretto and Riverside? Loretto is having a banner year and is undefeated and most likely will remain that way after tomorrow. However, Riverside does have two losses but to, I think, very good teams.

Will Riverside be extra hungry to face Huntington in R3? Now, is Loretto for real and back?

  4. According to the bracket, who ever wins this game will most likely have to face Huntington again. So, will the game tomorrow night go down to who wants it the most or.............................................................. who doesn't (really) want it the (least)?

  5. I’m guessing it is safe to say two completely different teams. The one thing that sticks out and, we will fully know after Friday night, is if R5 is really that good.?.?.? Loretto, Hohenwald, Waverly and MTP all had very good years. I haven’t been keeping up with that region a very long time but, it’s usually a one horse region.

However, seems that R6 fields dominate teams year after year.

Tell me about Lewis Co. what can we expect to see offensively?  Do they run a 40 on defense??  Don’t know anything about you guys this year.

Traditionally speaking, catching them in the playoffs means it doesn’t really matter about the offensive and defensive philosophies. However, they are the team you really want to catch in the second round. Not that catching Hohenwald in the first is necessarily bad, either.

Now, that’s speaking of tradition. If last year’s development maintains, all bets are off.

nah we just see the truth and point out the facts

Awe, BPM can dish it out but, just can't take it. He's worse than an adolescent child! LOL. Taking his ball and going home!

He came on here two years ago and began deriding me and Page. Then, in turn, he literally got blasted and called out for running down a kid some years back. After that, I called him out on Milan being similar to Hohenwald and shirking away from competition and wa-la, He starts crying saying " hear that crap" when he was the one that interjected himself into the conversation.

I just wonder if Milan will ever be "back"?

  8. It's sad how Franklin County has been up and down but, mostly down over the past several years. I actually thought when they brought McCurry in that he was going to turn them around but, seems like control of the program still hasn't been wrestled away from (outsiders).

I think we take this one walking away and get ready for round two.

Shhhh. They don't wanna hear that.I tried telling everyone it's easy to be ranked when you play easy teams and get wins but it also exposed teams when they play someone pretty good.At least I admitted LC would get thumped by JCS and Union City.No defense. But again,it depends on teams you play if you want easy wins .Was expecting LC get beat and end up 5-5.But an 8 and 1 team to get hammered? Tried to explain it to people but they wouldn't listen.

    Is LC Hohenwald??

I’m betting not but, your post sounds so incredibly familiar!

Never to early to start the conversation guys!

This is how I got the playoffs first round turning out.

    #1. Huntingdon vs #4. Waverly

#2. Riverside vs #3. Mount Pleasant

    #1. Loretto vs #4. Peabody

    #2. Lewis vs #3. Milan

I think Loretto, Huntingdon, and the River Rats will roll to an easy victory but I think Lewis County running game will give Milan a hard time.

So many different scenarios and the bracket could look nothing like how I got it.

    Anybody wanna chime in?

If Huntingdon, Riverside, Loretto and Hohenwald all win, what will round two look like and, who plays at home?

They aren’t the best they have ever been but they are good lots of speed on defense.  Riverside and Huntingdon are 2 of the top teams in the state if not the the very top 2

I haven’t seen either play to be honest. Just what I have read and seen on past seasons schedules from the T. It does seem that Huntingdon is a premier team and then Riverside went to the state last year. Therefore, it seems to reason that if Milan was placed, say in R5, they may be undefeated. If that’s the case, Milan takes this one Friday night. However, it also seems that R5 is good this year. Several teams had excellent seasons with only one or two losses which is highly unusual because typically, Hohenwald is the only team in that region (with current teams) that has a winner record.

  12. Let’s get back on the topic of this thread and recognize how fine of a season Loretto has had thus far. Did any of you Loretto fans see this season being of such historical proportion? I must admit, for one, I am glad to see this. I hope it’s sustainable and the program continues to rise. I know how special it is as our program, so far, has contained that success!

You know I like this whole block feature. I thought about it and I realized I can say what ever I want to about @Pizzpatriot2 and I don’t have to listen to her whine. For example, I can say how Lewis Co. has a winning record all time against Page or how they have more playoff wins than Page. Or I could mention that Page has a weaker schedule this year than Lewis. Or how they dropped 2A Forrest after getting beat in 2016. Or how they are playing a first year program this year. Or how before the last 2 seasons Page was one of the worst football programs in the Nation. I could even mention how Bobby Sharp asked his mom to prom and then stood her up as a joke and that’s why Pizzagirl is jaded to this day. And I don’t have to listen to his reply. It’s great. :)

You can BPM but, I’m sure you want to know what’s being said so that you will understand what it was that made people realize Milan jumps from classification to classification in-order-to run from competition.

  14. Holding tradition, if Milan really is in a down year and their placement of third in R6 is not due to outstanding teams, Hohenwald takes this one, especially since they are at home.

However, if Milan really is good and, they can beat the refs at Hohenwald, they will win with ease.

All of this of course, is if Hohenwald is back to their tradition. In the past, they have very seldom if ever played anyone of substance in the first round and, when they have, they’ve gotten beat, even with 9-1 and 10-0 records.

Hohenwald should win this one, hands down; especially since they are playing at home. But, I’m going out on a limb here and say the paper tigers from Milan win. I just don’t see the mindset established from last year maintaining.

Where does the paper champions coming from?

For decades, Hohenwald has been placed in the weakest region(s) and always scheduled extremely weak out-of-region games to inflate their record(s). Therefore, their region championships are only valued on paper. (Coach had a couple of close buddies in the T$$AA that always took care of them) This year is a prime example as neither Riverside nor Chapel Hill, both of whom traditionally have been on their schedule (at least one anyway) and, according to Google maps, Riverside is just up the road. Loretto threw a kink in that plan as they have had an awesome year thus far.

Probably that Milan fan that’s always on here. Bet they’re trying to figure out 4A for the next realignment.

Best I've seen. Walking through that "tunnel" with the pictures & awards and looking up at their sign listing their coaches and history takes it to another level there. Atmosphere is as good as high school football gets.

    All of those paper championships?

    Couldn’t help it.

  17. I guess Milan is going to be moving back up to 4A in the next reclassification. Now that Riverside is has put them even further down the rail in 2A and, doesn’t seem they will be getting by Huntington in the foreseeable future, there’s no other option. Even if they can catch Covington on a down year, won’t be able to get past Dyersburg in 3A either. Even if they did, no way they are going to be able to beat Alcoa.

Yep, 4A and hope for something like another Covid year to make it all the way to state. Cuddos to Riverside and their program and keeping the paper tigers in check.

It works. I have done to one poster only. The only thing is you can see their post if somebody responds to them. I wish there was a way to keep somebody from posting on a topic that you start. That way you could actually have discussions without the same poster taking it over and making the same old negative comments. I like a little bantering back-and-forth as much as the next guy, but this one person has a negative agenda.

I know right? This topic was started about Loretto and some yahoo from Milan turned it into a Page bashing thread!

Yep. Covid was around in 2020. Exactly right. Too bad y’all were t around in 2017 to play Forrest

Good thing we were in ‘21 and ‘22 when we went to the state championship and, didn’t need Covid to help get us there
