  1. Well, let's get this dicussion started! What does everybody think about the Greeneville-Powell game? The game being at Hal Henard should be a huge boost for GHS. I think they will come out of their little 2 game "slump" and win this game. If anyone knows anything about Powell, feel free to tell everybody.
  2. I'll go with Burkey's coaching to get Shelbyville over the top in this one.
  3. Please don't judge all Greeneville fans by what one Greeneville "homer" gets on here and runs his mouth about.
  4. Both of these games were a suprise to me. I thought that TN High would beat SH by 10 or 15 and I thought that Greeneville would win by about the same margin. Just goes to show that you have to play the games. I look for a good game between SH and GHS.
  5. I think that the key to this game is Tremaine Gash. We know that Wiggins will more than likely get his points. If Gash can play like he did against Volunteer and provide some scoring support, then I think Greeneville will win. If he doesn't and DB shoots well, then DB could win by 10 or more.
  6. When I started the whole "race" thing on here I certainly wasn't implying that all black people play basketball. I simply meant that a higher percentage of blacks play and are good than whites. I know that's not politically correct but it's the truth. I also know there are a lot of good white players too. I was just speaking in general terms.
  7. I agree to a point that basketball is still basketball regardless of what color you are. There are some awesome white players. (J.J. Redick for example) But if you look at major college basketball and the NBA it really is predominantly black. I don't really know why but it is. On average black people can run faster and jump higher. (Again, don't know why but they do). Not trying to be racist by any means but having black guys on your team usually helps a lot.
  8. I don't mean to bring race into the picture. So please no one get mad at me for saying this. West TN has more black people than east and middle tennessee. That has a lot to do with the west usually being better than the east.
  9. I'm glad Siegel beat Tennessee High. THS was lucky to even get there. I haven't seen Siegel play but from what I here about Ridgeway then I don't think Siegel will win. THS isn't that good and you had trouble with them so that worries me. I'd rather see a middle TN team win though, so go Siegel.
  10. At least your county has schools that are way bigger than 1000 students and can compete in AAA. My county (Greene) in east tennessee has 5 high schools and the biggest has 830 people. That school is Greeneville High and we have to compete in AAA even though we're not supposed to because of our administration. They should combine some of the schools and have bigger schools that could compete well in AAA.
  11. I can see how the dyersburg people think Meagan is overrated, we are talking her up pretty good. But she really does deserve all of this. When Greeneville is in a crucial part of the game, Meagan just takes over and will run off about 10 points in a row. I too hope she plays good tonight to show everyone what a good player she really is. Good luck to both teams and i hope that everyone has a safe trip to the boro.
  12. You're right. Manuel's heart doesn't go to 100%. lol. I would be fine if she gave 80% also. Her at 80% is still better than most of the players in the state.
  13. Sorry, i didn't mean to offend anybody, but if these girls are going to play SEC basketball then they need to get used to having people say bad stuff about them. I didn't say anything that wasn't true. Florida does stink. I do agree with barb about dyersburg not saying anything about their team though. I just know about people that they've played from what they say. I would like to know who the good players are and if they walk the ball up the court or run and gun. P.S. I've had people say a lot worse about me on these message boards.
  14. Thanks raiderray. I remember seeing the girl from Seymore play now. She was really good. I sure hope that Greeneville does make a good showing for the IMAC. I hope we bring a gold ball back to Greeneville.
  15. Florida stinks at women's basketball. I'd be ashamed if i was going there. Meagan could have went to a major conference school, but she chose to stay close to home.
  16. I don't know why all you dyersburg people feel so sorry for yourselves? More people are picking dyerburg on the Big Ones contest so maybe Greeneville should feel sorry for themselves. So if you can use coacht for lockerroom talk then Greeneville can definitely use the pitty thing too. Quit whining and stop throwing yourselves a big pitty party and get ready to play on thursday.
  17. Everybody on this board agrees that Alysha Clark is probably the best player in the state this year. She is a great high school player. SHE'S ONLY GOING TO BELMONT. You can be a great high school player and just not have the body type to go to a really big school. This is the case with Lyons cause she is only 5'5. That's also the case with Clark cause she's to short to play down low for a major school in college.
  18. Pat Summit knows more about basketball than any of us on this board. If she didn't recruit those girls then that means they weren't good enough to go there. Trust me, she doesn't overlook anybody. Unless something crazy happens, Florida will never beat Tennessee in women's basketball.
  19. Lyons is going to Tennessee Tech. She committed very early in the season. The rumor is that she could've went somewhere much bigger but wanted to stay close to home.I don't know how she compares with the west tennessee girls, but her drive and pull up jumper are just about the best i've ever seen in girls high school basketball.
  20. The Greene County Bank Ladies Classic ended up having a lot of teams that are in the state tourney now. Mt Juliet, Powell, Greeneville, Wilson Central, Elizabethton. I'm glad i got to go to all 4 days of that tournament. There was some very good basketball that was played.
  21. You are right about Greeneville not having any depth. We have none whatsoever. But, unless the refs kill us by calling a really tight game we should be alright because our starters are really good. I think this is shaping up to be a VERY good game.
  22. Just wondering. Where is Sha Brooks going to college? Or is she even a senior. I'm from East Tennessee so i don't know anything about her but i here she's really good.
  23. The name of this thread should be changed because nobody is underestimating dyersburg. More people are picking them on the Big Ones contest and like DZ said there are more D'burg people than Greeneville people talking on this thread anyway. Obviously not many people can pick this game anyway because not many people have seen both teams play. Both teams are good because they are in state and have 30+ wins. I don't think anybody is the underdog, i just think that it will be a good game. I hope a lot of people from dyersburg and Greeneville come to Murfreesboro so that we will have an awesome basketball atmosphere at the Murphy Center. Good luck to both teams, i expect to see a great basketball game on Thursday.
  24. IF manuel plays hard is a huge question. But, if she did then yeah Greeneville would have a shot at beating Mt. Juliet, because with Kiasha's size she can defend and score against almost anybody in the state when she gives 100%.
