Good hire.. any idea on assistant coaches? How’s the talent at Tyner compared to years past? Do you see a learning period for new style? Also hearing a couple of coaches in the valley throwing their name in the pot for jobs. One in Bledsoe and one in Whitwell.

I’m just not buying Monterey and York above traditional powerhouses Watertown and Trousdale. There’s something to be said for a championship program.

That a lot to replace hoss. In the valley you gotta stop the run first. Marion runs 3 lb set correct? That could be a huge key to see how good you all will be this year. Qb is also a key for your offense . Are you not as confident in swiping some SP players now that Jones is the hot name? It’s good to talk real football instead of the silly hope to go 500 talk.

I think Bledsoe has come about as far (round 2 exit) as their coming. Looking at the schedule above I see week 3 being a wake up for Bledsoe going into the lair known as Meigs. The big showdown in week 11 Meigs at Marion will give someone the inside track to the state. I think Meigs defense returns a lot this year.Defense wins especially on the road. So for the moment I’m leaning Meigs wins the district. I will keep my ear to the ground for spring practice reports.

Taking it deeper. Meigs returns a lot. Been to cookeville last 2 years. Good coaching staff. Tough road game at Marion to end the year but I don’t think Meigs will be shook... at all Marion returns a ton. Get Meigs at home. Do they know how to win the big game? Coach’s still a ? South Greene brings back QB Luke ? He’s a player. They have good road to get deep in playoffs till they meet M... ok next we have Watertown returns a lot. Should get over the Trousdale hump. Trousdale was senior heavy. Trousdale Had 19 seniors I believe. Lost qb. Rb Best lineman. Sleeper alert is Oneida. Well coached. Good nucleus coming back is the word.No Meigs in the district is very beneficial to winning the district!

You are correct. Cumberland is a graveyard for football. They have had some good players but I think their politics are about as bad as Bledsoe. They like some basketball though.Hopefully we can grab a up and coming coach and turn this train wreck around.

Yes. From what I could tell Huckabey is a very good WR. One of the Best I’ve heard. Also the fact Meigs has a good Qb that can get him the ball makes this a weapon that a lot of Single A and double A teams don’t have. Marion talking big down this way. Implying they will mop the floor with Meigs. Will be interesting to see how that goes down. I’m hoping my bunch can put up a good fight this year. But with a lame duck coach and average talent I don’t have high hopes. Concerns about players transferring here and there also.

Lots do it. It’s not like the old days. Kids are more serious about it nowadays. Some schools are serious about having a good program and winning and some are not. Kids are taught to do their best. So why should kids settle for less or someplace that’s not doing their best? Pretty fair if you ask me and a new way of high school sports.

Sounds like about half of the folks to my north in Bledsoe. Always the refs fault. No way it could be all their crooked politics in Bledsoe County that ran off all the good players and coaches. Most in the valley are relieved they did though! Bledsoe would be a powerhouse recently otherwise. It will be a fun year to watch in 2A. Unfortunately for us it will be lots more fun for teams playing my Indians this year. Plus Alcoa has it in the bag in 3A

Any predictions? record predictions? 3-7 players transfer predictions? Personally if I were them I would get away from valley and go over the river to Meigs. Probably top program in area right now with south Pitt trending down.

Weights....we don’t need no stinking weights

I’m thinking worst. Especially if what I’m hearing about a few players transferring is true. I have heard we might lose 4-5 players to Whitwell, Bledsoe, Marion or maybe even Meigs.. This was also before the Pruitt firing so that probably takes Marion out of the running since Pruitt won’t be around long term. No telling.

Got a buddy that follows Meigs closely. From what he says Meigs will distribute the carries this year. Of course Carroll getting 15 or so a game then have Caywood. Ben Smith. Pendergrass and kasko. All 4 very capable and experienced backs.More physical and punishing type backs.

I didn’t say that. But to imply there are issues with the coaching is stretching it. Look around and you will know what I mean.

For real? Back to back trips to cookeville and Meigs comes out ranked tops in the state for 2021. You need to come enjoy a season or 2 with us to bring you back to reality. Meigs is rolling brother. Tighten down and enjoy the ride.

Yea. That bye week for Meigs in week 10 is huge. Marion could have the better team but that bye gives Meigs a nice rest to be healthy for a huge week 11 showdown in Marion County. We need to create a poll predicting the winner. Preseason poll. Anyone good at this?
