They cancelled due to contact tracing on 3 OL? Has to be more than that. That's a bad look. Teams have played games missing valuable players all year due to tracing. Suck it up and play butter cup.

Discipline and Turnovers cost the Cougars who WERE #2 in the State... Central had their fair share of drive killing penalties. 15 only put 7 up in 1st half. Maybe 14 in 2nd if healthy. Central missed a fg, plus started slowing down and running clock in 4th. Took knees on a scoring drive as well bc they have some class. I feel like these posts are an extension of the coaching staff or players that talked crap and complained all night. The screaming at the coaches after the game was excellent. I know it's heated and they are upset but come on. "Y'all cheated!" isn't a good look. They might be right in saying Central won't win another ballgame this season and "good luck in playoffs" may be a perfect response to getting your tell whipped. I just think this was classic underestimate the opponent and get caught with your pants down just like Central did with Tellico earlier in the year. It's embarrassing but you can lose with some dignity. When 4 starters were chilling on pregame markups and just watching Central run through plays instead of warming up with their team? It didn't surprise me at all. Also, might want to tell kids and coaches to stay off Twitter especially before games. Kids and coaches promised some pancakes? Where are they? I'm hungry. Guess Central ate them all. Anyway, I digress. Basin is good and probably even better with 13. Tonight they were out matched, out played, out physicaled and our coached. It happens. I HATE it for 13. They would have given SP a game this season. I counted 12 penalties though. All of the penalties were very objective. 3 Offsides 2 false starts 1 blatant block in the back 1 holding call (didn't see this one but they missed several) 1 running into kicker (again obvious) 1 Tripping 1 Defensive Cut on a FB (Frustration penalty bc 56 was getting whipped by 26) 1 Delay of game 1 unsportsmanlike on Grabowski (Frustration bc they thought this would be an easy W)

Your source may over exaggerate just a little bit. lol. Central had some teachers contact traced because they had been in close contact with ONE positive person. Students were not being sent home on Monday and most of the football team is virtual anyway. Game was never in jeopardy.

Offensive line finally decided to play football. A lot of pancakes during this game and guys getting after it. This game and the Tellico game were night and day up front.

The news is right. Red Bank is down a couple weeks. McMinn Central game is rescheduled. CDD will not accept the forfeit. He said "I'll be danged if I am going to ruin my 20 year reputation by accepting a forfeit"

I do believe Central is better than last season. Brainerd/Central had a very competitive game last year. I am using that to form my opinion this season. Central in a close one. A thriller like the Basin game. The team that comes out of the gate strong tonight will be your winner. Heads will be hanging on either side once some confidence gets shaken. It is what it is. Brainerd has lost confidence. Central has the edge over them in pre-game but let them see some positive plays, momentum and get their confidence up, then Central will be in trouble.

Moving on. Central is having an average season this year. Brainerd is also an average team (they have played a MUCH tougher schedule). If the schedules were reversed, Brainered would be 3-6 and Central would be 0-9. This will be a battle. If Central does not play hard then Brainerd has the talent to run away with it. I am hoping for the former. Would love to see the Seniors go out with a W.

Just using evidence to prove that McMinn is a really good team. One of the best in history of the school and they should always have more talent than Central. Can not really use that game as a measuring stick.

CHSalum04, I am going to go out on a limb and say that you did NOT go to the game @ McMinn.....lol. McMinn County should ALWAYS have more talent then McMinn Central. It is twice the size as Central and really no excuse for losing to them ever. You can't really use that game as a measuring stick in any season, lol. That game was only 7-0 at halftime. McMinn was up 28-7 on Red Bank at halftime. McMinn has a very stout team as you say. The best they have had in years compared to an average Central team. Tonight's game will be a battle. Brainerd will want that first win and Central will want to end the season on a high note and carry momentum into next season. Good luck to both teams. Central 25 Brainerd 23
