    Baylor

The administration has been holding the football team back for years. They will get 2 linemen, when they need to get 5. They'll get 2 top level athletes when 4 would be game changing. Sometimes, they'd pull a border and play a legacy kid over the border, when they were brought in to play. They have the resources, but the admin has turned in to a bunch of flaming libtards that would rather promote the arts, than worry about paying the bills with the revenue sport. When the new headmaster came in, I think he's got the attention of the big money people and will change the philosophy. Massey didn't forget how to coach, and although some of the crap they called drove me nuts, he was trying to manage a game with what he had (talent-wise) trying to keep it close to have a chance at the end of a game. Bottom line, when you get beat by your biggest rival 6 years in a row, you'll be looking for a new job, that's the nature of the business. And everyone knows it.
  2. Harper has an injury from football that will keep him out till January Corday- labrum, will be back in January Baylor's 138 was wrestling up, because of another injury to a starter (foot/ ankle, not due back until January also.) The kid wrestling in his spot is a great kid, but young and probably more of a JV kid. This would have gone the other way, had those three been available, but injuries are also part of it and you have to develop backups for this reason, and Cleveland may have the same issues, as I don't know their regular lineup. So in the end, no excuses, Cleveland won. Stinks both programs can't or won't get together ever in January, when gearing up for state is in full swing, but depending on what you hear and who to believe, it just hasn't happened.
  3. Out of 32+ teams. Tuttle (OK) won team 215.5, Baylor 197.5, Woodland (GA) 153.5 Baylor Individual placers: Nick Corday- (113) Champion (4 OT Finals match) David Harper- 2nd (195) Garrison Dendy- 4th (145) Heath Snodgrass- 4th (220) Jackson Bond- 5th (126) Gunnar Garriques-5th (182) Anthony Mannella- 6th (160) Sam Christianson- 6th (Hwt) Well run tournament, really good competition, Red Raiders had more placers than any other team while missing a couple of regular starters.
  4. #2 has had ankle injury all year. Not an excuse just a fact, been gimpy week in week out all year. Blue game planned perfectly though in all aspects defensively, and played as soundly as they could. Congrats.
  5. Sounded like that chant to me as well. That being said, the recruiting debate will persist between these two, and to be real, both do it. Albeit, Cleveland grabs as many kids away from BC, whereas Baylor has the resources to pull kids in from around the state and region. I heard the same about a non-invite, but at this point, all 3rd hand knowledge. Happy for both teams, wish BC and McCallie would have made it to the finals of each so there would have been an all-Chatt area finals, but it wasn't to be. Good luck to all in the next coming weeks.
  6. The one guy, not voting Baylor #1? Clearly he is.... Other than just bragging rights, it's the same thing as Jeter not being a unanimous pick, right? (Maybe on a slightly lower level )
  7. So Baylor could have gone to the Cleveland duals earlier in the year, but they went to a big tourney in ATL (and won) for different competition. Word is they tried contacting the Blue Raiders on several occasions, but nothing was returned. TIFWIW. No matter what, whoever would have placed 2nd if they would have gone, that 2nd place finisher would have given the mandatory, "we're not where we want to be, this early in the season, the team you'll see in Feb will be a different team than who finished 2nd....blah, blah, blah" Bottom line, last time they wrestled, Baylor won, their team has gotten better, even though they lost a couple of dominant multi-time state champs. Barring injury, they will run through the state tourney and not really be challenged.(Same can probably be said for the Blue Raiders) but nonetheless, anyone who believes the red team isn't #1 is just petty and only fooling themselves
