  1. Be curious if the WC injury default kid wrestles in the next round.
  2. Who wrestles 106 and 113 for WC? I’d probably favor Bradley in those weights unless Hicks goes 113. Edit - Forgot about Fisher. That will be a good one with Ricon.
  3. I think a major or pin would be asking a lot from Lipsey here. Though Lipsey has been on a tear this year ( undefeated with wins over Uhorchuck, Helton, Gobbell, and Simon (AL) and others), Warnock is very tough and has some really good wins as well (recent pins of McLemore and Yazdani). I think Lipsey definitely wins but not sure about bonus. If I was WC I would avoid the matchup but not sure if Warnock will be able to weigh in at 132 giving them the flexibility.
  4. I don’t think Lipsey loses at 132 or 138 although a match with Warnock would be good. Warnock does beat Crisp though. Regardless, should be a good team match. What is the WC lineup right now?
  5. How does WC matchup with Bradley? I know WC is strong from 152 down and at 220 but don’t know much about the rest of the upper weights. The issue for WC is that Bradley is also strong in the lower weights.
  6. Cleveland vs. Summit will be a battle but assuming the matchup is the same (or similar) as at the Cleveland Duals it will be tough for Summit to squeeze out enough extra points. Realistically, I could see Summit flipping 120 and 285 (because anything can happen at HWT). I could also see Summit getting bonus at 145 (8-1 last time). Not sure they can get more points elsewhere (unless a few guys just avoid getting pinned). If all that happens and everything else remains the same Summit wins. However, I could also see Cleveland flipping 126 and 160 as well as not getting pinned at 132 resulting in a 20+ point win. This is all based on the same or similar lineup. It should be a good one. I haven’t seen WC this year so don’t know if they can matchup with Bradley.
  7. So Cleveland and Summit are on the same side of bracket? I thought Bradley, WC and Summit were together and Cleveland was with DB?
  8. Wow. That’s a tough draw for the main threats to Cleveland.
  9. How are the dual brackets set? I assume Cleveland and Bradley will be on opposite sides but where does WC and Summit go?
  10. Sure. Summit is very good. The Cleveland Summit match at the Duals was close.
  11. Don’t remember exact scores 106 Cleveland Cordero decision 113 Bradley (Terrell moved down) pin walker 120 Cleveland Boskin pin 126 Cleveland Bentley pin 132 Cleveland Rice majored Crisp (moved down, Crisp pinned Rice last time at 138) 138 Bradley Lipsey majored Sims 145 Bradley Belcher major 152 Cleveland Fowler pin 160 Bradley decision 170 Bradley decision 182 Cleveland Symborski decision 195 Cleveland Russell decision 220 Bradley major (Cleveland backup) Hwt Bradley pin (Cleveland backup)
  12. Why would that suck for Cole? If he stayed at Cleveland, then he doesn’t even get to compete for a State title even though he is probably #1b at the weight. If he is deemed eligible he may not win it all but he will get to compete. Kid gave 3.5 years to the Cleveland high school program and made a big cut to start and help the team all year. He loses a controversial wrestle-off to a freshman and he should just be happy and not look for another opportunity? That’s silly. As long as he isn’t taking the spot from another kid at Soddy who could qualify for state then I have no issue with it. And not having Cole tonight could have cost Cleveland because Cordero only got a decision (of course that’s all he needed though I don’t think he can pin Ricon like Cole did).
  13. Cleveland beats Bradley in a great one 31-30. Cleveland wrestled two backups at 220 and HWT. Bradley got the upset at 160 and Cleveland got an upset at 132 with Rice over Crisp. Jose Cordero got the decision at 106 to win it but Dyer pinned Ricon the last Cleveland/Bradley match. It should be a fun state dual tournament. Each team won 7 matches.
  14. Anyone have a box score for the FR/WC match? It doesn’t seem like many have been talking about WC this year (which I found odd) but if they beat FR they are legit as usual. The AA duals between Cleveland, Bradley, Summit and WC are going to be battles.
  15. Cleveland might be a victim of their own success with the 106 situation. Having two of the best 106 kids. Jose is the better technical wrestler but I worry that he is underweight and may not be able to get bonus points that Dyer can get because he is bigger and stronger. I really hate it for Dyer because the kid put in years of work and waited his time in the program with a real shot at a state title in his first year starting. I hope he gets to wrestle for Soddy as well though don’t think he will beat Jojo.
  16. Good match up today of #1 ranked 152 kids from AA and Private. Fowler beat McGehee pretty easily.
  17. Thanks. FYI … I think Tyson Russell (Cleveland) is 2-0 against Lane Hicks (Bradley) so far this year.
  18. Agreed on the atmosphere. Just amazing for a high school match. Bradley may be able to flip 220 and HWT but those are probably the only ones. One issue is that Bradley’s 3 hammers typically get them 18 points against most teams but against Cleveland they only got 11 last night. Barring Cleveland injuries, everything would have to go perfect for Bradley to get the upset … but that’s why they wrestle the matches.
