Yes you are correct North Alabama is D1 but I believe that is all they have. Harrison will play college ball potentially but just a Freshman. Callins parents are from Greenfield and made a good decision to put her at Westview to give her the best opportunity to not be overshadowed by Chloe and Darby. Westview would not match up well with Greenfield.

Greenfield did beat Loretto by 6 but played awful, lil Darby missed four lay ups, that doesn’t happen. It ended up 6 but lead by double digits most of the game.

Clarkrange got mauled by Greenfield last year, those two lil guards couldn’t even score, Greenfield too big and fast. Btw Greenfield even better than last year with a transfer from Dresden that signed with Union. Loretto is a good team but Greenfield is the premier team this year. UT signee, Two time Miss Basketball and a girl that’s playing college ball at Union. Loretto has Weathers, not another girl on that team playing college ball.

You are correct however, Loretto with over 450 kids in a Single A school will win over the next couple years until Carly is gone, she is that good. Greenfield has 125. They are discussing smaller school play again which would kick Loretto, GC, Union City, Trenton and all historically AA schools back up to a more competitive classification over all.

Chloe played zero defense last year. That is her problem and why some big SEC programs haven’t offered her. The coach should have played them straight up man to man like GC did and would have beat them. 49-40 because our coach pulled his girls should have been 20.

Same class as Greenfield, are you serious? They play that game 10x and Greenfield wins 9x. Absolutely coaching cost them the game. Loretto won by a couple points and shot 79% from the floor. They would never do that again.

No joke. Greenfield beat them by 19 in the Regionals. Coaching beat Greenfield last year. They would have beaten GC in the championship, they thumped them all season. On the other side Great coaching by GCs coach help them beat Loretto.

I believe GC coach is a very good coach but it wouldn’t matter this year. Greenfield wins going away. GC not in the same league this year or last. Greenfields coach lost the game to Loretto last year by playing a ridiculous defense. Loretto shooters open all day and still barely won.

Ok. Why do I state these comments with confidence? Because I have seen most of these players for years. My daughter played AAU with some of the Summertown and Loretto players this past summer and I get to see some fantastic girls basketball. Tess Darby- great player for Greenfield but her style of play when she played with her AAU team is why UT signed her, spacing and great ball movement and she becomes deadly. The Moore girl, unreal high school talent and would probably be a higher recruit with better exposure in the summer but plays for her dad and plays in a much less competitive league than Tess as does the Callins girl at Westview, mom and dad both from Greenfield btw. I spoke to Coach Byrd (Belmont Men’s coach retired) and it was the first time to see Greenfield play, he helps Belmont’s women’s program recruit. They like the Moore kid but getting her enough money to go to Belmont is the problem ($40k) a year but with a partial scholarship she is still out a lot of money. BTW coached a couple of Byrd’s past and present players (Grayson Murphy) and Jesse Snyder graduated, so he asks my opinion. He says Greenfield is the best girls team he has ever seen in all classifications. (Guess he’s drinking the cool aid also). Greenfield would curb stomp Westview.

Greenfield beat them last year by 30 and Clarkrange lost some players from that team last year and Greenfield didn’t lose an starters and their playing at an unbelievable level. I’ll take Greenfield by 20.

I am always pulling for weakley county teams, remember Callins and the Leyhue twins get their roots from Greenfield. Westview lost to GC and Union City and you think they could play Greenfield close??! Really??? Greenfield slaughtered the DII state champs, I have seen most of the Class AA teams and Greenfield would beat any of them. Class AAA would be tough but they can play with any of those teams. Btw, I live in Middle TN and see all of these teams play.

I never said Coach T was a bad man, from what I know of him, he is a good man. That however does not mean he is a great coach. He has two D1 players on his team, possibly 3 with the other Darby girl and very good role players. The girl from Dresden plays when it’s close because she is the better player but a transfer will not start above the other role players. So he should win in Single A without anyone coming close. The Weathers girl is a great player but that is the one main player that Loretto has. Mimi (#11) is a good role player and the other Weathers girl as well. Greenfield should have a cake walk to the Championship. As Coach Durden said after the loss to Loretto, Willie would not listen to changing his defense back to the normal man to man that Greenfield runs and because of that Greenfield lost, that is not good coaching. Willie is hard headed when he will not come out of his press when he plays good transition teams and they get multiple easy buckets. The Moore girl is an exceptional talent but she plays very poor defensively, it showed up big time in the tournament last year. She is better than the Darby girl going to UT if she plays defense, but Coach T will not demand it from her. The teams that Willie is playing in his district and Region and down with the exception of Gibson County last year, where there coach out coached Loretto's coach in the Championship last year. Btw Greenfield was a much better team than GC last year. It’s about the players, any coach could take the talent at Greenfield and win! I stand by my comment Coach T is a marginal coach.
