  1. I’m thankful for the opportunity and appreciate the long road there. However, what is easy is not my measuring stick... Nor is it that of #2, 8, 34, 52, 57, 60, 71 (apologies to the other badasses that I inadvertently left out).
  2. You are happy with coming in 2nd two years in a row? I’m not. I’m proud, but hardly content. Any successful organization (military, Fortune 500 company, sports team) looks back over a previous performance and studies what went right, what went wrong, and what was in our control and what was not. This reflection must be conducted honestly and apolitically. Check egos at the door.... Fail to do that and people die, companies fail, and someone else wins the championship (respectively). It was said to me recently that if your season ends in Cookeville, you had a great year. My response was “Yes, unless you lost there when you could have won. “ In 2019, we should have won. For 2020, we could have won.
  3. I really hope our issues can be fixed with current staff. But we we need something more than “Peabody is SP’s problem now.” Else TC, H2O, or Marion will tattoo our #### (unpleasant I’m told) and we won’t see the Semi’s next year.
  4. Ah, one of those folks who thinks the only choices are between the “bad” and “purty good.” Peabody was great both years they beat Meigs. Not taking anything away from them. We needed a lot of things to go right for us on both days. But, what kind of asshat doesn’t see how outcoached we were? Forget offense, what about our DC??? I wonder if he has figured out by now to watch #86.
  5. Bingo. Our coaches are also coaching better (perhaps because they have to).
  6. Try https://www.1049themountain.com for radio. I think they did MC at Wartburg.
  7. Lots of threats in the RW backfield (1, 2, 8, 15) in their double wing variant that can wreak havoc with the LB or DL. I’m less impressed with their Defense ( in 2nd half).
  8. If #8 healthy, RW takes it. Watch for 15 and the counter.
  9. Congrats to Will Meadows (RB), Malachi Hayden (OL), and Ben Smith (LB, honorable mention) for notice at https://gridironscouting.com/2020/11/08/all-tngs-greater-chattanooga/
  10. Re earlier request for stats: Meigs rushed 269 yds on 50 carries 34: 26 carries for 151 yds; 2: 20 carries for 88 yds; 15, 5, and 8 had the remaining 30 yds Meigs was 4 for 5 in the air for 15 yds (to 15 and 34); penalized 7 times for 49 yds ——— SP rushed 122 yds on 28 carries; 85 yds in the air; penalized 12 times for 90 yds No other detail given the source (https://www.dailypostathenian.com/sports/article_513e5bad-20ff-53ab-ad31-059d2400a8b3.html)
  11. I’m the wrong one to ask. I was indicating that I know the kids. I wasn’t the one who saw them Friday night.
  12. #10, 6, and 8 don’t need to be waiting on anyone at any gate at anytime. They are not bad kids, but the first two are very capable of their mouths writing the proverbial check that their butts cannot cash....
  13. Re #28: For Friday night, it wouldn’t have helped. Moving forward, yes. Great slot player. He had success with routes at 8+ Yds. But 28 was handled by a smaller (but not weaker) Meigs player within 5 yds of scrimmage. I hear the Meigs OLBs get aroused when opponents bring their screen game. Could be a nasty rumor. Didn’t we send SP our Greenback film?
  14. Tomorrow’s DPA (https://www.dailypostathenian.com/) should have full offensive stats. Defensive stats vary by game/article.
  15. South Pitt folks: What effect has the local youth football league had on your HS success? Is 7th grade ball part of the school system?
