  1. As a Milan fan, I agree. Milan, Peabody, and Huntingdon already play each other as non-Region games. Milan will probably just replace the annual Week 1 game against Peabody with South Gibson. Then that leaves two more non-Region games (probably Hardin County and then someone else). I see Milan, Peabody, and Huntingdon as the top 3 in some order with everyone else playing for fourth. And, that's not a knock on the other teams. Milan will return a lot next year. Huntingdon returns a ton. Peabody loses a lot, but they've proven that they will just reload. I've been told Milan will be in 2A for just these two years. Enrollment was down due to several students not coming back to in-person learning, but rather learning from home. Also, the enrollment numbers for 7th and 8th grades are higher than the current grades in the high school. Just my two cents
  2. I know Milan will be the underdog going into this game, and rightfully so. Milan coaches and players will have the utmost respect for Alcoa. This doesn't mean they will fear them. I was interested to see how Milan would respond if they fell behind last week. After going down 13-0, Milan put together a solid, time consuming drive that resulted in a TD. I feel like that was the part of the game where Milan calmed down and knew they could play with PC. After the blocked punt on the ensuing PC drive, the momentum never stopped until the final score read 27-13. There is no doubt that Milan will face adversity of some kind against Alcoa. Last Friday will prove to themselves they can push through the adversity. Now, I'm not saying Milan will win or not because of the comeback last week, but it will help them at some point on Friday. Go Dawgs and everybody from Milan is pulling for you and believes in you!
  3. BPM, there are some hinting around town that maybe supporters of a previous coach may have put a bug in the ear of the school who submitted the claim to the TSSAA. Have you heard anything similar to this?
  4. I heard the same thing as well. (The part about coming from Covington’s camp.)
  5. He must be the person Covington hired to follow this player around and take pictures of the player after Covington lost to Milan earlier this year.
  6. According to the link in the first post, they are #148, Smallest school in 4A
  7. BPM, Do you see Region 7 3A being Milan, Bolivar, Dyersburg, Covington, Ripley with potentially Bolton and/or Millington? If it has Bolton and Millington, that's a long road trip for a region game. Travel-wise 4A would be better. Obion, Crockett, South Gibson, Haywood and maybe the Jackson schools (Northside, Southside, and/or Liberty) Thoughts?
  8. 1st OT Milan has kick blocked, Covington fumbled first play 2nd OT Covington stopped at 1 yd line on 4th down, Milan fumbled on the second play 3rd OT Milan scored TD, Covington threw INT on first play. Ballgame
  9. While I will definitely enjoy this Milan win for the next two weeks, I got to thinking about the potential road in the playoffs. 1rd - Bye 2rd - 3 seed (SGC/Covington) Home 3rd - 2 seed (Covington/SCH) Home 4th - PC (probably) Home Championship - Alcoa Whew, that is a gauntlet!!! I think I’ll just enjoy the win tonight!
  10. What a GREAT game! Two awesome teams that left it all on the field. Both teams will have a much needed and deserved Bye Week next week. With all due respect to SGC and Westview, these two teams will see each other in the 3rd Round of the playoffs in Milan.
  11. Both Defenses are playing tremendously. Milan with one big play on offense so far.
  12. Henry Co is playing Beech at the stadium today at 2:00 as well
