He did have some great athletes during the 90s at Moore but I disagree with "not having to play anyone during that time period. Collinwood, Wayne Co, Spring Hill, Goodpasture, USJ, among others were solid as he played who he had to within the region and played bigger schools outside the region. Moore was beating folks so bad that scheduling was difficult since many didn't want to mess with the Raiders at that time. They also had scrimmages against Trousdale Co and South Pitt at certain points to let the iron sharpen iron. My main point is regardless of your competition consistency within high school sports is challenging. There's something to say for winning the ones you should and taking care of business with that many region crowns. Tullahoma could easily dominate region 5-5A since competition is lacking, but will they? Probably not.

No doubt Tullahoma's defense will generate some chaos and turnovers for the Knights. Really boils down to what the TulCats' offense can do with those turnovers and opportunities. On another note, looks like great weather for football tonight. Have a good broadcast.

FC got McCurry after the Marion Co fiasco and he was never the same. Yeah Mac did some asinine things at time but it's not like he was a flash in the pan type coach with only one group of kids. He had 9 region titles at Moore along with a trip to the state title game where his team lost by a 2pt conversion falling a yard short. He then went on to have 3 region titles at Marshall Co. He also had success in Mississippi before coming back to TN. Franklin Co was his only stop in TN where he had a losing record. I'm not trying to condone some of the craziness that took place but the guy's overall record speaks for itself. (212-87) Most coaches don't have a lifetime winning percentage of 71% (and the Franklin Co years brought that down) so I could see why the Rebels gave him a shot. Now back on topic, I think either QB for Nolensville will be fine. The bigger question is can Tullahoma generate any offense against the Knights' defense.

I don't want to derail the thread here but why do you think Franklin Co is still struggling? Do you think with the new coach that things will improve quickly? Seems in today's day and age the leash tends to get short quickly.

I'll drink the kool-aid that some are trying to serve. Hillsboro played Nolensville extremely tough. I think the Knights are better than Shelbyville so Hillsboro should have enough athletes to pull the upset. I'll call for the Region 6 sweep.

Yeah I didn't want anyone to take the comparison the wrong way. Riverdale is definitely in another category as far as competitiveness and may win a title again someday but like Lincoln Co, they will never have dynasty type years again like the 90s. I definitely miss the rivalries they had.

After seeing the condition they were in previous years, I think this is an improvement. They will never return to the greatness they had in the 90s but it's understandable with another school in the area. I think it's comparable to Riverdale's situation in Mboro. They will never again be what they once were.
