  1. 5 team scrimmage at McMinn County Stadium this Friday night @ 6pm. McMinn, Bradley Central, Baylor, Soddy Daisy, & Notre Dame are the currently scheduled teams.
  2. I'm not educated on the specifics of turf fields - is there any sort of "padding" that is installed under the turf? I have 2 boys that play and they seem to think some fields are a bit softer than others.
  3. My opinion (and everyone knows what opinions are like) - this will be a rebuilding year for McMinn. We lost so much talent last year to graduation. There are some good young players coming up, but I think if they can pull off a 2nd or 3rd place finish they'll have had a good year. It's next year that I'm getting excited for, with Miller coming back for his senior year and giving the younger guys another year to develop and get stronger.
  4. Would have to be regular season home & away. McMinn is moving down to 5A.
  5. Using this logic (which I agree with by the way) the McMinn vs. DB game should have been played as originally scheduled on that Friday night.
  6. Agreed - he's a great kid too. Very hard worker.
  7. Agreed - I wish the middle school program had been started a long time ago. Consolidating all the smaller community youth teams into one McMinn team will help as well. I think we'll start seeing more consistent results in the years ahead.
  8. I wish McMinn would have gotten Loudon on the schedule the last couple of years. Loudon has had a good team. Also, our group of outgoing seniors played a lot of good games in the youth football league against their group of seniors - would've been fun to see how they stack up against each other now.
  9. Anyone have a McMinn schedule for next year - been looking and can't find one
  10. Hope you're right in relation to the Director of Schools. If legal action is what it takes, I hope that's where it goes. I've been trying to do all I can to make sure this doesn't just quickly fade away.
  11. IMO - not good enough to just simply say: well I guess someone's lying and then just wash your hands of it. I'm hoping he's not just simply washing his hands of it - I guess that remains to be seen.
  12. I'm really hoping someone steps up and admits to whatever was done wrong here, but I'm running out of faith in most people doing the right thing. Hopefully our local journalists will keep digging on this and force our local and regional officials to hold someone accountable.
  13. Ha, no, but maybe it was The Red China. I never thought DB was involved. Maybe that the SCHD had overreacted, but no big conspiracy.
  14. Yep, anyone else on here from McMinn County, we need to stay on this and demand answers.
  15. There are local elected and appointed officials that could do something but I bet they won’t . Disgraceful.
  16. Wont confirm anything like that on here, but from what I do know, this needs to be looked into further. I’m seeing signs that it’s gonna get glossed over, but I’m hoping someone with the authority to do so will get involved and hold some people accountable for what’s happened to these kids.
  17. Here's a link to the DPA article that was released this morning https://www.dailypostathenian.com/news/article_1d28d0fd-e578-57f5-9f9a-40b5a24a2170.html
  18. According to the Athens newspaper, the TSSAA says they never received the information from the McMinn Health Dept. The Health Dept. says they did send it at around 7 pm eastern time.
  19. Yep, can't argue with any of that. This whole situation is sickening. I can't explain how much I hate this for these kids that are caught in the middle.
  20. The Daily Post Athenian is now reporting that the McMinn Co. HD says they submitted the info to the TSSAA. Here we go....
  21. Not sure what the answer is to this, but I believe the letter from the TSSAA to both high schools said that it was the McMinn Co. Health Dept. that didn't respond.
  22. Any chance that DB will stream this game on YouTube?
