Genuinely wasn’t trying to give you a hard time. Was just trying to say Huntingdon obviously isnt unbeatable and it’s open for anyone who plays the best for 5 weeks straight

Side note.. the 80’s were definitely our heyday. I think we legitimately could have won 4/5 gold balls in the 80’s but it wasn’t to be. Since then we have consistently put a pretty competitive team on the field with spurts of being really good

A lot of people who are born here and play here, stay here so the same bloodlines run through the football program so there’s a lot of expectation to be good on Friday nights from the generation before We are also blessed with a lot of high quality men coaching our youth, jr high and high school teams. Great community support and our administration are great when it comes to supporting all of our sports programs. I would like to hear @croz6110’s opinion on this

Huntingdon got beat by 2 scores by a 1A school. They very well may be the best team but to say no one will beat them when someone already has doesn’t seem very reasonable

If my memory is correct, that was the game where Upperman kicked an onside kick that the refs blew it with the illegal touching call and Alcoa scored on the next play to put the game away right?

I still have nightmares about that night I may be a tad biased because I was on the team but think our ‘87 team was one of the best we have ever fielded at Gordonsville

Only watched DC play once but if 15 plays for them, WC will have their hands full on defense. Heard a lot about the kid from Sparta but havent seen him. What’s his numbers look like?

We have only played once in the playoffs correct? Back in 87 semis i believe is the only one

Just went back and looked at his years at Sequatchie since BigMan was nice enough to inform me about his stint there. Had some good defensive teams there too. Especially in 2015-2016. Most points in that stretch was Notre Dame (38) in the playoffs and Dekalb Co(35), Both in 2015. And the outlier was Marion Co in 2017(41) which Caine’s bunch won in OT

I have wondered that myself. 3 losses but all of them to a higher classification. Watertown was a pretty bad loss imho but it was very early and we have improved a lot since then especially offensively. A lot of new faces and took them a while to mesh together Regardless of polls, I’m excited to see what happens. 1A in the East is SP’s to lose, but there should be some other good games come playoff time. As far as the west goes, that gauntlet of games to get to Chatt will produce some great games too. Can’t wait to watch it all unfold

While they do give you a lot to look at, they didn’t look as explosive and have as many playmakers at years past outside of #15. That kid can hit pay dirt any time he touches the football

Sounds about right. Coach Caine teams always have a solid defense. Anybody know the most points scored against a Caine coached team?

Haven’t seen them play and no common opponents Only thing I can say is Dekalb beat us by 2 scores, Stone Memorial beat DC, and York beat Stone Also, Stone is top 10 in 4A. They have to be a pretty solid football team. 2A beating 4A is nothing to sneeze at

Upperman by 2-3 scores DC could give Upperman a game if 15 plays (was hurt early in the year but played against us). If not, DC won’t be able to put points on the board. He is the only real threat on offense that DC has I enjoy keeping up with this region. Always seems to come down to the wire between the top 4/5 teams to scratch and claw for that #1 spot and to get into the postseason I think Upperman wins it, MC 2nd, Stone 3rd, and DC 4th (if 15 plays the last 2 weeks)

I’m going to have to agree. Forrest was not a very good football team. No way a team tied for #1 in 2A should only beat them by 9 We aren’t even in the top 10 in 1A and we took care of Forrest handily

Since when does where a kid live in an open zoned county matter? What matters is where said kid went to school. And in her case, she went to Gordonsville
