  1. Will Nolensville keep the streak alive? The Knights have won at least 1 playoff game every year they have played football, including being the only team in state history to win a playoff game with no Seniors in the building. To do so they will have to travel to Tullahoma (a tough place to play) and beat a good team. It will be interesting to watch.
  2. It's a new one, but Page/Nolensville has turned into a good one in the mid-state.
  3. Also the only school in TSSAA history to win a playoff game with no Seniors in the building. Two of those playoff wins were as 4 seeds on the road vs. a region champion.
  4. Let's try to settle this once and for all. White County had a tremendous season, as I told several of their fans exiting the game. Their two talents on offense are TREMENDOUS high school football players, are either SEC level talent, no, but there is nothing wrong with that. They are still excellent players with a ton of talent. The difference in the game is that you need a team, 11 players on both sides. I said before the game if Nolensville got 1 stop per quarter they would win, they got the stops, and they got the win. How many times did Nolensville punt? ZERO! The team put up 14 points each quarter, despite running 1/2 as many plays as WC. Why? Because White County had no answer for the offensive talent on NHS. I saw a post earlier about how WC scored more on NHS than anyone all year, this is true, because WC had two truly exceptional offensive players, BUT NHS also scored the most they had all year, WHY, the sub-par defense played by WC. It was a great game, close in the 4th quarter, but NHS never trailed. At the end of the day the question was which defense had the better chance to stop the opponents offense, and that answer was clearly Nolensville. Now, onto Page the Rematch.
  5. No, he only plays D. The Knights have very few players that play both ways, and those that do only do it on a part-time basis. This is one of the reasons that they have been such an effective 2nd half team.
  6. In the two losses to Page last year, Nolensville was really hurt when the QB was able to extend the play by getting out of the pocket. The Knights have more speed up front this year and the teams they have played have had a more difficult time doing that this season. It will be interesting to see the effect this has on this years game.
  7. It is the MYTV30 game of the week, it will also be the game of the week on the radio on 104.5
  8. His first Nolensville Varsity team was the first team in STATE HISTORY to win a playoff game with no seniors in the building. That is not too early to tell in my book.
  9. 5th year of Varsity Football in the school's history. 5 playoff appearances. At least 1 win in the playoffs each year (including when their were no seniors in the building). Now, back to back semi-final appearances, win or lose, you have to be very proud of the Knights. It will take a near perfect game to win, but this is high school football so you truly never know.
  10. Great football game. When a team goes all season without being tested, you never really know how they will respond when they are. NHS was able to bottle up Thomas most of the night and it looked like he got quite frustrated. Special teams were the difference. 3 missed FGs for Tullahoma and the bad snap on a punt that led to the winning safety and a 99 yard KO return by Samson Johnson right after the one big Thomas play of the night to give Tullahoma their first lead. Great season for Tullahoma and a lot of young players, they will be back. Now for the rematch with Elizabethton!
  11. Coach speak or not. If you believe that putting a group of 14-18 year olds on buses, Driving them for 5 hours, the day after Thanksgiving, are not going to be at somewhat of a disadvantage vs. kids who are home you are either naive, or never played the game. I am not saying Elizabethton will lose because of it, not at all, I am saying it makes the game tougher....of course.
  12. Your coach said in an interview earlier this season that the road trip for the Semi's this year makes it much tougher to get to the championship game. No, it was not the reason that Elizabethton won, but it IS a factor, as you will see next Friday night.
  13. The new 4A classification ranges from 762 students to 1114. By you logic, the lower half of those enrollment numbers will never have a chance. That just isn't true. Of course more students give you more options, but the classifications are meant to "normalize" things as much as possible. The range in the new 4A is twice as large as the range between Tullahoma and NHS. Forget about the numbers focus on the teams. Tullahoma is the better team. Elizabethton is probably better than both, but this year they have to make the long trip the day after Thanksgiving, let's see how they respond to that whichever team they play.
